Is Dustin Hoffman out of 'Little Fockers'?

Categories: Film, Movie Biz, News

Those of you looking forward to seeing Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand reunite as Bernie and Roz Focker, you may have to just rent Meet the Fockers again. It’s looking like Hoffman isn’t returning to the third installment in the Meet the Parents franchise. Sources tell EW.com that there has been strife between Hoffman and the studio over the size of the part, the scheduling of the days on set and other difficulties. Hoffman had tentatively agreed to appear in what was to be a very funny cameo at the end of the film. That seems to have now fallen apart, due to either salary issues or scheduling problems, or both. The studio, Universal, declined to comment. At this point, we do know that Streisand still has a prominent role in the movie as Ben Stiller’s mother but alas, Papa Focker’s role is looking much more unstable. Hoffman’s rep didn’t immediately return EW’s call for comment.

If its about scheduling i would understand because you cant expect him to pass up other parts for a little cameo. If its about money, then that sucks because its only a cameo and he should have plenty of money already.

Steve, I was just about to say the same thing.

Meet The Fockers was so much funnier than the first movie because I love Dustin and Barbra. I would rather the cameo be DeNiro – he was awful in the sequel.

      ITA!

    • Denny

      You’re sh***ing me, right?

      • KFed

You think DeNiro is good in those movies?

    • Clown

Meet the Fockers was all the jokes from the first rehashed and with an awful delivery. Good for Dustin Hoffman for sitting this one out because the last one was a turkey.

Wait, we get more Streisand but no Hoffman? Yeesh, it’s like they are actively trying to keep people away. I don’t blame Hoffman for not doing it if all they offered him was a cameo and not a substantial role.

BRING BACK HOFFMAN! God, I HATE Universal. Cheap truds.

  • Nicole

Oh No! He and Barbra Streisand had so much chemistry in the last one!

ummm It’s not as though any of these Flicker (sp) movies have been classics in any sense…they are mainstream fare ..If you want Dustin give him $omething worthy of his talent and/or his time..he surely has better things to do even if it is travelling the world w/his fam….

    • Denny

      Agreed.

  • JH

He and Barbra were great together, but as long as Streisand returns, I will go.

  • Nathan

Don’t care, wasn’t going to see it anyway.

  • sina

Without Dustin or Barb, what’s the point.

  • Billiam

Both the movies are unutterable crap. So good on Dustin! Let’s hope they cancel the movie.

    • Brett

Oh, yes, so he can make quality pics like “Last Chance Harvey” and that dreadful movie about the magic shop with Natalie Portman.

  • Jay

Dustin is the funniest actor in it, he’s great! He’s the only reason I even care about these Fockers movies. If he’s not in it, we won’t go see the movie.

  • marven gardens

maybe he’s working on Mr Magorium II?

  • Martillo

Maybe bring in Al Pacino as Ben Stiller’s uncle.

  • SCOTT

KILL HIM OFF! I LIKE BEN STILLER MORE IN THE MOVIE. I THOUGHT DUSTINS CHARACTER SUCKED ANYWAY.

  • nathan

Smart move Mr.Hoffman, adding Jessica Alba to the cast basically guaranteed this was going to be a bad movie.
