FlashForward and Bones continued to slug it out this week, with audience numbers basically neck and neck. FF edged out its Fox competitor averaged over the hour, but Bones picked up viewers in its second half while FlashForward lost them. Rankings were relatively stable otherwise, with slight dips for NBC comedies except Community, and Vampire Diaries proved its lasting power with another strong showing.

WHAT THE HECK!!! Fringe needs to get moved to a different night. Fox is seriously undermining this show.
Yes! Move Fringe to save it. It’s the best show out there! Put it back together with House or maybe even on Tuesdays. There’s nothing good on Tuesdays. Thursday is killing it.
Agree…Tuesday = ok but not against V!!
Even up against V, I’d still be able to DVR one of them!
Yes! Tues, I miss that show so much. Even more than Ugly Betty. Bring Fringe to Tues night! I’d choose it over V.
Good news for community. I’ll take that. Community also had its highest rating in the A 18-49 demo in the new time slot. The show has not reached its full potential yet but it deserves another season. Fringe, Yikes!! The only way to save it is to move it to another night.
Fringe is getting slaughtered, move it now FOX,as the show is great and doesn’t deserve this dumping!
If we lose Fringe because of moving it to Thursday I will boycott Fox. That is absurd.
I know my online cable guide (Cox Cable) still showed “MLB Baseball”. I wonder how many people stayed away from “Bones” because of that?
only the people who didn’t realize the Yankees won the World Series!
or the millions lving in denial cuz they wished they didnt!
won..bought..potato..potahto
I knew the Yanks had won, but I thought they built in another repeats night just in case it went to game 7. Luckily I checked.
Too bad Parks & Recreation is doing so poorly. I wasn’t impressed with the first season (my wife hated it- and we both love The Office), but I watched last night’s ep and was pleasantly surprised- very funny, and Poehler’s character has gotten a lot more likable.
Yea, it’s really gotten much better. The first season was mediocre at best, and I was really disappointed. But every episode so far this season has been good, if not great. I think it’s really found it’s own voice. All the characters deliver consistently and it has become as just as much of a must-see show for me as The Office and 30 Rock.
My TiVo missed Bones because baseball was still in the guide, as side3 pointed out. We had to watch it online. I hope NBC takes a look at those dismal 10:00 numbers, though. I feel like the viewers are having a staring contest with NBC: who will “blink” first, the viewers who quit watching once and for all or the network who will finally admit its mistake?
I really wish Fox would move Fringe to Mondays opposite Heroes. Fringe is getting murdered on Thursdays and it’s a great show that deserves better. The Monday slot would be great because it would give sci-fi/thriller fans a decent show to replace the tired and terrible Heroes (which I fought to stick with for 2 and a half seasons).
Without a lead in Fringe might do worse? God Save Fringe, put it at 9pm after the network’s best possible lead in House
Fringe needs to be moved to Tuesdays. There is nothing on that night. I hate to see the show get cancelled because it is on Thursday nights. It is too good of a show for Fox to do this!
I completely agree! I haven’t watched Fringe at all this season, because my DVR can’t keep up with all the Thursday shows….yet the DVR gets no action on Tuesday nights!
Dear Fox,
Please stop killing Fringe by leaving it to be destroyed in the ratings every Thursday night. I thought you were high on that show? Why did you put it out to slaughter on the biggest TV night of the week? Based on what I read in the off season, you were going to push Fringe to the moon this year? Afterall, it did very well for you in the first season. It deserves so much more than what you are giving it. So Fox, please smarten up and stop killing one of your best shows. I BEG YOU!!
Sincerely,
Mike (huge Fringe fan)
This is classic Fox. Putting good shows in bad time slots and then blaming viewership when they cancel it. That’s what happened to Sarah Conner and what they’re doing to Dollhouse.
i feel sorry for anyone who watched the first half hour but not the second half hour.. i did not see that ending coming.. i was shocked and now extremely curious to see how things play out with this new twist.
btw.. i am talking about flashforward.. lol, see i am still in shock
What is Fox thinking!?! This is really killing me. I don’t think I can deal with Fringe getting canceled. They need to fix this problem ASAP. Why, why, why did they ever move it from it’s Tuesday time-slot? It performed solidly every week. It consistently brought in around 10 million viewers. Now it can barely get half of that. Fox needs to wake up and realize that they are single-handedly destroying this great show. I just don’t get it. It’s like they want to see it fail.
FOX does this to these types of show. They did it to “Firefly”, they did it to “Terminator”, and now they’re doing it to “Fringe”. After “Firefly”, I learned not to love a SciFi series running on FOX too much. FOX management sees only the numbers, and somebody in TPTB doesn’t seem to like this type of show. The ratings slip due to a decision THEY make and they kill the show. Bang, dead.
Ditto every comment about moving Fringe back to Tuesdays, it’s unbelievable that Fox is hanging it out to dry like that. And, Flash Forward was terrific again – would it kill EW to even give it the slight recap that it gives ‘Parks and Rec’ – which I actually like but gets half the ratings and is a sitcom that really doesn’t inspire discussion the way this intricate drama does – the ending alone provides a great deal of speculation. Once again – please, EW???? Project Runway and Real Housewives but not FF????
Dang! Vampire Diaries is doing really well. As a Degrassi fan, I am so glad Nina Dobrev’s show is successful. I might have start watching it…people must really like it! (PS, I am so not into this “Vampire” phenomena…)
