Kristen Stewart, the 19-year-old star of the Twilight franchise, knows that she can come across as sullen and self-conscious in the public eye. But during an exclusive EW roundtable in Vancouver, Canada, where the cast was prepping for their last week of the Eclipse shoot and then the immediate onslaught of publicity for the November 20th release of New Moon, Stewart was funny, quick and outspoken in a wide-ranging conversation with co-stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson.
Asked about the endless rumors of her supposed off-screen romance with Pattinson, for instance, Stewart got nicely fired up. “I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” she said. “But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer. I know that people are really funny about ‘Well, you chose to be an actor, why don’t you just f—ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?’”
Pattinson himself, who clearly loathes confrontation, tried to softly interject with philosophical statements about the need for an actor to hold onto his individuality. But Stewart cut him off. “I’ve thought about this a lot,” she said. “There’s no answer that’s not going to tip you one way or the other. Think about every hypothetical situation: ‘Okay, we are. We aren’t. I’m a lesbian.’ I’m just trying to keep something,” she said. “If people started asking me if I was dating Taylor, I’d be like ‘F— off!’ I would answer the exact same way.” Without missing a beat, Pattinson looked at Lautner, promising “Me too.”

I can appreaciate how this can become tiresome and maybe it is something she has yet to realy learn to deal with, but her response was a choice. The movie MADE her as no one was seeking her out before Twilight as they do now. I have seen movies she was in and did not notice it was her until reading her bio, again after Twilight. The SAGA’S FAN BASE includes very young people who do not understand or want to understand enough to differentiate character from actress and so “Bella Swan” not only is possibly rejecting “Edward” but telling them/us where to go in not so many plesant words. The road to success can be tedius in the film industry and I know I could be wrong, but something tells me her light is as bright as the next powerful acting performance AFTER this Saga ends. If she can pull an audience, and/or have REALLY GOOD PR, then she may stay newsworthy. If the 75% young female audience rejects her performances in the furture, then she won’t have to worry about fame or becoming an “Angelina Jolie” As she cried about in aanother interview….we won’t show up to see her. Yes, she has the right to privacy, but you CAN NOT claim to be in this business for ten years and not know the kinds of questions you will be asked! You are seen together ALL the time. THe role you played and are replaying is getting steamier and you want to be anooyed that you are asked question about dating? You are unrealistic. Learn how to present yourself as a professional. As for me, it is the Saga and not Stewart that pulls me into the theatre. She does indeed have a right to her privacy, but as a paying customer, I expect you to show more class when you remind me I have crossed the line. For the record, I don’t care who she is dating and frankly, I doubt many others care…they care who ROB is dating and since that might be her… she gets fifteen minutes of fame.

I agree with you. I really think that Kristen is not a good actress at ALL! Ever since she did Panic Room I always thought of her as a freakin’ weirded tom-boy that tries to act hardcore. But she is not at all! She seriously needs to go back to acting school and get more lessons because every movie she has played in is boring and untalented. Even in Twilight she did a poorly job and I got so sick and tired of hearing Catherine Hardwick and Robert commend her on her skills, when they knew that that was a lie! She did not do a very good job in Twilight and from the looks of things, she isn’t going to do a good job in New Moon either. She shows no emotions or any type of feelings at all! In the mean time he figured out how little they had in common besides the movie (Kristen is a wild Hollyweird child raised by liberals..Rob was raised by conservative Catholics…that is why he is sweet and genteel and she is slob punk). Rob’s family is not too happy with all the gossip either. If they were together, they would go to Kristen’s condo or her mom’s house. Why go to a crazy paparazzi frequented Chateau Monmarte and go back again when returning from Vancouver?…Publicity and he does not want to fuel the gossip by going to her place.
Kristen admitted yesterday that they are not together as Rob is finally grown up enough to realize that they should remain just friends. He is very complicated and conflicted. Even if he just gave into sex with her, it’s wrong in his mind as he does not want to marry her and is terrified of getting her pregnant.He actually cares about what his family thinks of him UNLIKE the hippies who raised Kristen to be a foul-mouthed twit. He went from broke, unloved, unknown to a $10 million contract, beloved and famous.
It could not have happened to a nicer guy..He appreciates his good fortune unlike Kristen. Maybe Kristen will go to college and charm school and grow up.

You’re spot on here! Kristen reminds me of that stereotypical raised in a trailer park right outside of the richy rich town chick. Rob is definitely much more classy than she is. He deserves everything, however she deserves a good boot up her rear to teach her a lesson. I can’t wait until the series is complete so I don’t have to deal with her horrible acting, or her self absorbed, bitter attitude.

It hurts Kristen to be asked as she loves him. It has made Kristen angry to be asked because she is in love with him and he is in like. That is why she said on Access Hollywood he is “wishy-washy” and “she was so sure about something and found out she was dead wrong” she thought he was hers…she lost him last year when he saw the real person. Rob is wise and cares what his family thinks.

She acted the parody part of Bella better than Kristen did as a “serious, experienced actor”. This girl has it all, charm, grace,looks,charitable works,professionalism, wit, brains,creativity, talent, faith, manners..was raised by good parents instead of Hollyweird hippies like Kristen was.
I hope Rob meets her or someone like Taylor Swift…he deserves the finest not the worst. If Rob and Kristen played in Beauty and the Beast…Kristen would be the beast. Perhaps they could star in remake of “My Fair Lady”….Kristen could perhaps acquire some charm and grace if she had to do it for a part.

I definitely disagree with you on that. He really needs to get some self-esteem, but Rob’s got as much (or more) acting talent as Kristen, and is also a talented musician. But he definitely would be happier to be seen as a character actor than a heartthrob.
He will and he does not care. He just got 10 million for the series and has Bel Ami and Unbound Captives lined up already and Remember Me coming out in Feb. He writes,composes and sings. His career will be long and it could not happen to a nicer more deserving blessed guy.
