Ridley Scott’s next project will center on the fashion design empire of Gucci and is likely to star Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie as Maurizio Gucci and his ex-wife Patrizia. Sources tell EW.com that the two actors are in talks with Scott to star in the movie. Scott, whose in post-production on Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe, has been talking to the two actors for quite some time but neither are officially attached to the project. Titled Gucci, the film will focus on Maurizio and his turnaround of the Gucci empire during the 1980s before he was murdered in a plot executed by ex-wife Patrizia Gucci. Charles Randolf (The Interpreter) wrote the current draft of the script. Fox and and Scott are continuing to develop the script and while the project is high priority for both the studio and Scott, with neither of the actors attached, no firm start date has yet been set. Fox hopes to put it into production in early 2010.

Every film director wants Leo and Angelina—doesn’t mean its going to happen.
As much as I adore DiCaprio and Jolie, I cannot see them as a couple, even a divorced couple. I know that they’re around the same age (early 30s), but she seems older both on and off the screen. It’s such a bad pairing! The same thing happened when she acted opposite Matt Damon — he looked like a little boy next to her.
but le had aged in his recent photos though and i think they would be a great pair onscreen with “Gucci” im gonna watch this film of leo and angie stars on it…or else ill pass…what with the expensive movie ticket we have today not gonna spend a dime on a movie with people i dont want to watch…if thats the case id rather buy a pirade copy of a dvd of such film though
Dude, this sounds great, except for the frightening prospect of Leo doing an Italian accent. Come to think of it, of BOTH of them doing Italian accents- I haven’t forgotten about Blood Diamond or Alexander and those dialect debacles.
Yea, early 2010 start date doesn’t give them much time to get some serious coaching on dialects. But at least they’ll attempt accents, unlike Tom Cruise in Valkyrie.
No, it’s JOLIE we should worried about. Did anyone hear her accent in ALEXANDER??? Horrible.
Oh, this could be interesting.
It’s not that Angelina looks older, it’s that Di Caprio still has that boyish look and the chubby cheeks. Personally, it’s hard for me to believe him in any adult role, he is -dare I say it- too cute and fresh-faced, he reminds me of Ralph Macchio, who to this day, in his forties, looks like a kid…
This movie sounds hot..but they have the wrong guy for the lead role..This should go to either Antonio Banderas or Daniel Day Lewis, perhaps Jude Law. I agree, the problem with Leo is his cute baby face. He needs to drop some pounds and his voice is too pitchy..
Very bad pairing, JUST SAY NO!@
Leo needs to do good movie, couldn’t care less about hag Jolie
Leo did a fine job with his accent on Blood Diamonds. Do you realize how hard that accent is to do? I am sure doing an Italian accent would come easy for him, after all he has Italian roots and been to Italy plenty of times to get down the accent perfect. Leo is a great actor, with the right role, he shines.
They both great on screen but as a couple bad match, Leo looks to boyish but with some makeup one can never tell
