Nadya “Octomom” Suleman, 33, signed a contract in May with production company Eyeworks for her family to star in a reality show, her lawyer confirms to EW. Production on the show (which is not yet attached to a network) has begun, but Suleman’s 14 children are currently being kept off camera while work permit issues are considered. There is no name for the show yet and no due date has been officially set.
“It most likely will be aired in the UK first once it gets finished, but there has been substantial interest from a U.S. major cable network,” Jeffrey Czech, Suleman’s lawyer, explained over email. “Eyeworks has commenced filming Ms. Suleman and has been careful not to film the children.”
Attempts to contact Eyeworks for comment have gone unanswered.
Meanwhile, an Orange County judge is considering whether a permanent financial guardian should be appointed to oversee the children’s earnings from the show (reportedly $250,000 over the next three years) and ensure that they are not exploited. On Monday, a California judge appointed a lawyer to temporarily oversee the estate of the octuplets, according to the AP. Czech said a hearing on guardianship is scheduled for Aug. 31 and that Suleman has a motion to dismiss the guardianship order set to be heard on Aug. 20. “The appointment of a guardian most assuredly will affect the ability of Nadya to contract with a production company,” Czech said.
Czech told EW that Suleman agreed to do the show so that she does not have to accept state financial aid to cover the costs of raising her large family. “Nadya needs the money to support her family; why on earth would she not accept [a reality show] offer?” Czech said. ”She has major expenses to raise her children. Therefore, the allegations that she is using her children for her own financial gain are simply not true.”

Let the family exploitation era begin again – yeah – starring the children – do I really want to see a show about babies in diapers – or is this going to be one of the self promotion – I’m such a good person I deserve everything that I can get free off the back of anyone who really works at sustaining a family.
Why did dumbass Nadya have these kids if she can’t afford to have them in the first place? She needs to be treated the same way pets are to prevent litters—Nadya Suleman needs to be spayed or neutered.
So she doesn’t “have to” accept government assistance – or the possibility that TV pays better?
Unfortunately with her personal history I do think that any proceeds have to be monitored so that she doesn’t squander them on more elective plastic surgery – or another in vitro procedure.
The public would find this “project” more palatable if they knew there was a mandatory set-aside into a trust she could not touch that was rserved for the children’s education/health issues.

I think we have been exploited enough with reality shows. This isn’t reality. It is what sells. The rest is film that is cut and in the garbage. We will be shown what producers and film crews get to see. I pass on another family reality show.
If she can’t afford the children, then she shouldn’t have had them in the first place! I want to know which US network is interested in her so I know which channel to BLOCK!

It’s my personal opinion that people are somehow threatened by Nadya because she’s showing herself to be a strong, independent woman who isn’t going to get married to just any man in order to “fit in.” If this weren’t so, why would so many people be wanting to put stumbling blocks in her way to make it difficult for her to raise her kids? Multiples have been getting perks and TV shows for years, and nobody has thought anything about it until a divorced woman with Middle-Eastern ancestry becomes the mother of multiples. She wasn’t intentionally trying to have eight–she used the same amount of embryos each time to get one four times and two one time–but every embryo took this time, and one split, so her only other choice would have been abortion. Let’s cut this loving mother some slack here…
You don’t know how many embryos she transferred. She stated in one of her videos her fibroids cause some of the IVFs to fail. How many has she really had? (at approx $15000 a pop – while on public assistance). It’s highly highly unlikely she only transferred 6 embryos and conceived 8 children. It would mean she would have TWO sets of identical twins in the group (and that doesn’t seem to be the case), because two embryos would have had to split to end up with 8 babies. You are only going by what she says and she’s a proven liar. No one is jealous of her…people are sickened by her. Using kids for your own selfish desires/plastic surgery/ money/ and fame is disgusting.
i believe it has been officially reported that she had 6 embryos implanted this time. and actually several of them could have split and one ‘twin’ died in utereo. it does happen with the drugs used during IVF. as for the other 6, I believe it is on record that at least 4 if not all 6 were the result of IVF. this is the record from the investigation of the doctor as well as social services.
as for the abortion thing. distasteful as it is to some people it is SOP for such cases because it is deemed better for baby and mother to reduce the number to 3-4 at most than risk all lives. the chance for celebrity was likely as much a part of the decision as this love folks think is her motivation.
to Lucas – what does ‘officially reported’ mean to you? We have only octoliar’s word which is as good as dirt, as to how many embryos were really transferred. There’s nothing ‘official’ from her Doc or anyone else because her medical records are confidential. There’s nothing at all ‘official’ about what octoliar says…and I don’t believe for a second she only had 6 transferred and got 8 babies (where there don’t even appear two sets of identicals, not to mention the Doctor’s atrocious success rate with IVF plus that she ’supposedly’ had 6 transferred each time before and conceived only singletons and one twin set). Didn’t happen that way…and time will prove it when we see there are def. not two sets of identicals in those octups.

California will be supporting this idiot’s irresponsible choices for decades of more. I still would like to know how she was able to have these children when she was on welfare and not able to take care of the ones she had. I am sticking to what I said I would do if octofreak exploited her children and did a reality show. I will never watch it and the only effort I will make is to find out the network and the advertizers who I will boycott. Those children should be given to good families. I feel bad for them. She has been and will continue to leach off of the system. Who paid for the hospital? Does she have to pay anything back now that she has money? The money the children are getting is pitiful. If a guardianship is not set up for the money, octofreak will blow it on video games, cosmetic surgery, IVF, etc, etc. Sad.

here’s the catch though. you don’t matter. there are only 25k viewers that are counted by the Nielsen system. each one of them is worth something like 750k households in the sample. so all they need is for a couple hundred of those folks to watch and they could be gold.
what works a lot better is to make a list of the companies most likely to advertise during such a show and write them a polite but firm letter telling them that if they buy ad time during said show you will never buy their products again. couple hundred thousand letters like that and companies start to get nervous
the rest fun is that she is on record saying that she didn’t want welfare because her plan was to get a reality show. that was her goal. and if she was so worried about money why did she get IVF for even one kid much less six (which then became 8 in utereo). the woman is wacked
