Zuniga is the fourth member of the original Melrose Place cast to sign onto The CW’s update; Josie Bissett, who played Jane Andrews Mancini, is also expected to make a guest-starring appearance this fall while Laura Leighton (Sydney) and Thomas Calabro (Michael) will recur. Melrose Place debuts Sept. 8.

Why not just ditch the whole new cast and bring the entire old cast back? Then give me back my hair, get plaid shirts & ripped jeans back in style, and put Nirvana back on top of the charts … and I’ll be a happy boy.

They should not do this show without Heather. This show is going to be lame. Sydney is dead in the first episode, um where do you go from there? Bring back the old writers and the old cast!
These “actors” really need to move on with their lives. You did a show, it was fun, it went off the air. No reason to resurrect it. LAME!

Why bring back all these OLD actors? To top it off Daphne Zuniga?? She was the weakest link, then Josie Bissett followed. And please do NOT bring back Heather Locklear. As much as I loved her in Dinasty, TJ Hooker and whatever else she has worked on,She Needs a Rest! And I dont care how much Botox they get done, they are JUST TOO OLD! Please say it ain’t so. The only show that was ever successful with a cast of OLD people was the Golden Girls. lol. What’s next, the Facts of life and you try to bring back Mrs. Garrett?
I love her as the slowly evolving away from evil mom on OTH- as long as she keeps that gig, I support her right to have a paying gig elsewhere too

I totally agree with the majority so far… we NEED HEATHER back if this show is to be re-done, and I also agree that they should just ditch the new cast and bring back the old cast as well; this show was just perfect as it was, and I say bring back the old crew and writers, directors, etc… as well! Nobody was as great as Chip (producer, director, writer) anyway! I LOVE this show! I simply can’t wait! Love Daphne! Caught up on the MP dvds and Jo became my favorite! I’m excited she’ll be on this new version, but I hope she won’t leave ‘One Tree Hill’ for good. I really enjoy her role on that show. I don’t know though how it will be to see her play 2 different roles on the same network though! But that’s Daphne’s great range in acting I guess!
I think this old cast returning is the best aspect of the new MP!
This is so sad. I was a fan of the original show and it worked because they were young and a little dangerous. Heather joining helped big time and the show never looked back. Redoing it again is so Hollywood. Let me guess there will be a new blond who sleeps with everybody and hurts who ever gets in her way.Where are all the new creative writers? Are we reduced to bringing back everything from the past?
Has anyone heard if Grant Show will return? I loved him on Swing Town – so sad that didn’t make it.
I’m looking forward to the new MP. However, I just don’t see how they can “kill” Sydney in the first episode when she was run down in her wedding dress and killed on the original show. PLUS her fiancee was so distraught he committed suicide in his car. I don’t know how they could possibly explain all that away.

I for one am glad to hear they are remaking Melrose place. I was a fan of the original series and after 90210 was remade why not Melrose. Like we need another cop/medical/court room and CSI series. My only concern is hearing all the negative comments about the cast being too old. Am I the only one who thinks actors over 40 are still just as good? Last time I checked not every show has to have a cast under the age of 25. These are seasoned actors/actress. They can act circles around alot of the shows I’ve watched with younger casts.
Look…I for one can appreciate an experienced older actor, however, this is Melrose Place, NOT “All My Children, Guiding Light or General Hospital”! Im not trying to discriminate against them because of their age but this show was never about mid-life crisis or menopause. Ok Fine, I digress. Lets just call the show “Melrose Place-The Golden Years”.
I somewhat agree with others here, why bring her back? Besides, as much as I love her, she was he punching bag of Melrose Place. Always dating someone who inevitable would beat her or try and kill her. If they’re bringing her back they should bring back Jake too, someone needs to look out for her.
I dont even see what it matters…..all these people are just guest stars on the show. they’re not gonna be main characters. i mean i love all these actors and characters, but its only 2 episodes! big deal
why does anyone even care? its only two episodes anyway taht she’ll be back for. as much as i love these characters, they’re only going to be back as guest stars not recurring characters.
I loved Melrose place but it won’t be good without Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner. I will check it out.

To Luis – there’s a HUGE age difference between the former cast of MELROSE PLACE and the Golden Girls! The MP actors are now 40ish while the GG cast was 70ish – TWENTY years ago! So maybe you need to check your definition of OLD! (Also, it’s DYNASTY not DINASTY.)
