Ryan Seacrest has signed a deal with 19 Entertainment that will keep him on board as host of American Idol and see him developing other projects with Idol creator Simon Fuller through 2012, his rep confirmed to EW.com today. Some published reports valued the contract at $15 million per year, more than triple Seacrest’s current salary.
“I’m truly appreciative of being part of a show that has had such an
enormous impact on popular culture across all ages,” Seacrest said in a
release. “I look forward to expanding the relationship with Simon Fuller
and Bob Sillerman [Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CKX, the parent company of 19] who share the same visionary approach to

I heard that Simon is getting $144 million per year. I know that he is an important part of the show, but that is crazy. (Plus he is involved with BGT and X Factor and AGT, and Leona Lewis and Il DIvo $$$$$$$$$$$
Ryan deserves every penny. He works really hard on all of his jobs–Idol, Radio Programs, Dick CLark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, E! shows etc!!! He puts a lot into the Idol auditions and actual shows. Yet, the best TV Reality Host is Cat Deely. She deserves the emmy award!!!
he’s a dancing monkey with a tan who won the lottery. anyone could do his job. nobody “deserves” that kind of money, especially that egomaniac cowell. idol is overrated and losing it’s audience year by year. come up with some new ideas please.
I’m glad he’s signed for three more years. Hosting a live television program is no easy task, and Seacrest makes it look effortless, every time. He’s so comfortable in front of the camera, which is great because when the host is awkward the viewers feel awkward. Seacrest is top notch. Way to go, Ryan!

you have got to be friggin’ kidding me?! how is the most annoying part of the show (yes i more often fast forward through him than those terrible- TERRIBLE – Ford “commercials”) get that much friggin’ money?! God i hate being an American sometimes.
Ryan Secrest deserves every penny he’s getting. If Simon Cowell is getting 145 million per year then the reality is Ryan should be getting 30 million per year. It’s crazy to short change such a vital part of the show. He let them off easy asking for 45 million for three years. They must be estastic.
Simon Cowell is rumored to be paid about $35 (NOT $144) Million per year with AI. Cowell’s contract ends after next season. Cowell owns the shows AGT, BGT, and X-Factor, so he makes a lot of money from those shows also.
