Cameron Diaz is considering an offer to play the female lead in Green Hornet, opposite Seth Rogen. A deal hasn’t been sealed yet, but sources tell EW that she is in early talks for the role. Her reps at CAA declined comment. Michel Gondry is set to direct the film based on a script by Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg. Shooting is supposed to begin shortly, with a release date already set for July 9, 2010.

Please please please do not let this come to fruition. Between Seth Rogen and Michael Gondry, this movie could be great. Cameron Diaz has ruined too many movies. Anyone would be better. What’s Elizabeth Banks doing?

Rogan as the Hornet might be just fine. Remember how shocked everyone was when it was announced that Michael Keaton would play Batman? What a surprise that turned out to be.

I was much more excited when Stephen Chow was involved. Looks like he’s completely out of it now.
And Cameron Diaz? Please. Her vapid ramblings and annoying laugh/chuckle is incredibly annoying to listen to on chat shows. Fortunately time is beginning to wear hard on her looks and soon we won’t have to see/hear her.
Michel Gondry?! well, NOW I’m intrigued. If Cameron Diaz can do her best work absurdist directors, or with Canadian actors in superhero movies, then perhaps this could be the way to go.

LMAO! Cameron Diaz is certainly no spring chicken by Hollywood standards. I’ve always thought she was overrated. I definitely won’t miss her once she’s deemed too old for the silver screen.
