The series premiere of NBC’s The Philanthropist got a big boost from its 9-10 p.m. lead-in, America’s Got Talent, which was Wednesday’s most-watched show. By the end of the 10 p.m. hour, though, The Philanthropist had lost 17 percent of its audience and ended up tying with a CSI: NY rerun in terms of average viewership. ABC’s Wipeout edged out Fox’s SYTYCD at 8 p.m., though the two shows earned identical ratings for Adults 18-49.

SYTYCD is working on a two week slump in ratings. Last week there was a sizable drop and now this week it doesn’t even reach 8 million viewers. That’s not a good sign no matter how you slice it especially knowing it’s going to be up against much stiffer programming in the fall.
The Philanthropist needs to develope the characters, where did they meet, how long have they known each other, where do they live, what are their personal lives like, etc. They also need to add a sense of humor to these people and a few hot looking office workers as love interests for Purefoy and Martin’s characters because I just don’t see any chemistry between them and Neve Campbell.
