The Proposal is a cute movie because Sandra Bullock is such a good comedienne and she can pull this off. Bette White was also good in this, she’s a pro. I liked Ryan, never saw him before, but the two played off each other very well. It was a cliche preposterous story, but the leads gave it their all.

Saw The Proposal yesterday and loved it. Hilarious. I laughed so much and so did the audience. Sandra B. looks amazing, the most beautiful she’s ever looked and is funny, funny, funny. Ryan is her perfect partner: funny too and very handsome. Betty White is a hoot but all the actors are great: Mary S. & Craig N and all the supporting. It’s a contrivance of a story but so what? With these pros it’s sheer delight.

Year One is definitely an unexpected hit this week as it got pummelled by movie critics but still is going to have a +20 million dollar weekend.

I saw the Proposal today and really enjoyed it. Sure, the story wasn’t the greatest, but Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were fantastic. A romcom that I would watch again and again for sure.
I went and saw the proposal today with a friend and it was hilarious! The whole audience was laughing the whole time. I hope that the movie is successful, becuase if not there will be a ton of people really missing out on a great movie!!
I was hoping for a Year One flop… too bad. I guess those teenagers lined up for it.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THE PROPOSAL. I’ve been a fan of Ryan Reynolds since Two guys and a girl and this movie finally showcases his great comic timing. So happy that it has done so well! Sandra’s next movie is with Hangover Star Bradley cooper which comes out in September — called About Steve.
I think a lot of its surprising success is due to Ryan Reynolds. He proved a great romantic lead last year in Definitely, Maybe. I’m surprised this did so well in its opening day considering the poor reviews, and that Sandra Bullock does so many bad movies.
Saw The Hangover Friday night, and the theater was sold out (this is it’s third weekend). I predict it’ll hold strong through the weekend while Year One will drop to 3rd.
Year One is not going to be a hit. Sure, it’ll open to just a tad above 20mil, but watch it plummet in the ensuing weeks. Heck, Love Guru opened to 20+mil also during it’s opening weekend, and it crashed thereafter. Same thing is in store for Year One.

Taking of Pelham 123 is a solid entertainment but proof that the adult oriented thriller is a dying breed at the movies. Thats sad!
