Robert Pattinson’s new movie, which is tentatively titled Remember Me, began filming in New York City this afternoon. As an exasperated crew member was overheard complaining, “They might as well call it Paparazzi and ‘Tweens, ’cause there’s more of us than them!” It was a fair statement considering how the crowd had swelled substantially (a rough estimate of 200) outside of NYU’s Silver Center of Arts & Science, after fans had texted and called their friends to get to downtown Manhattan, like, omigod, right now!
The scene in question was of Pattinson (wearing a plaid shirt and donning those now-trademark sunglasses between takes) walking down the street while talking to a friend, smoking a cigarette, and holding a cup of coffee (he’s versatile!). During one scene, the actor who plays Pattinson’s friend mockingly yelled, “Have a good day, sweetheart!” as he walked away.
Oh, how the hundreds of girls who lined Washington Square Park would have loved to yell that to the Twilight star — though the couple of “I love you Robert!”s and “I love you Edward!”s that squeaked in will inevitably make for some tough sound editing. Members of the mostly young, female crowd, some of whom had skipped school and arrived at the scene as early as 9 a.m. to watch their beloved Pattinson, said they had been tipped off by onlocationvacations.com. While the crowd mostly kept calm during filming, once the movie broke for lunch, a flood of girls chased Pattinson as he was escorted to his next location. So will this wreak havoc on Remember Me’s fliming or will the cast and crew simply have to up the security/location ante?

I feel so bad for him. If all those fans aren’t careful, he’s going to go underground for good. Please have some respect. He IS trying to work…
Summit should have known better than to allow an open, unsecured set. Haven’t they seen the RPattz Effect on females & papparazzi within 100 mile radius??
These young kids need to remember that he is working and they are trying to film a movie. I can’t believe how inconsiderate some people are these days.
This is crazy. They need some MAJOR security down there for him, before he gets hurt. Those fans REALLY need to learn some respect.I feel really bad for him,if this doesn’t send him over the edge I don’t know what will.
Video of these stupid girls trying to grab Pattinson

They need to get him the guard he had in Cannes
They really need to close the set. I work two blocks away and I was walking by the park on my way back from lunch and I got dam near trampled. I have lived in NYC for years and have seen my fair share of movie sets. I have NEVER seen such an aggressive, psychos screaming like this. If I was this twilight guy, I would be terrified. Close the set. Please!!!
Another mad girl stopped Rob acting

I don’t know which is worse.
Why in the hell are you posting the link where the freaks were tipped off at the location? That’s absolutely ridiculous on your part. It’s bad enough that he’s been attacked by skanky hoes, but you have to post the site where they found out the set location? bad, Bad, BAD on your part.
Douchebags. You’re just ADDING fuel to the fire.

Poor Rob…
I can understand that girls go crazy for Rob, but it they drive him nuts they won’t see anymore from him for a while so they’d better leave him alone. He’s got enough paparazzi to deal with anyway. I know that it’s the life he chose, in a way, but still there has to be limits. He should live in Canada where you can’t have your picture taken ans used without consent!
Stupid Summit! They should get him guards, and close the set! What did they expect would happen in the middle of New York city? The more I hear about Summit the more I don’t like them.
OMG what bunch of bimbos!!! Stop messing things up for some of the sane fans who Robert I promise wouldn’t do this to you or act like that!!! I’ve seen him several times when he was in Vancouver and left him alone, please ladies demonstrate self-control!
I hate stupid girly teeny bopper Twilight fans. And I AM a Twilight fan.
Please people, show him some respect…I do not understand… you do nothing but bring him unhappiness and destroy any chance he has at a normal life…but yet you say you love him… that is not love…GIRLS!
o.k. I know all of you teenie boppers out there love Rob. I do too, but if you want him to notice you. screaming his name and fainting won’t do it. when i met him in Vancouver he was very sweet and polite. I waited patiently while he signed pictures and the such when he finally got to me, even though he is far more beautiful in the flesh then i can even begin to tell you. I didn’t get all dreamy eyed or start crying. I asked him how he was holding up. he stopped signing my twilight book looked at me and smiled that half crooked smile we have all have come to love and said I’m hanging in there and thank you for asking. he looked so relieved that someone actually asked him how HE was doing, instead of gushing about how gorgeous he was.
Fat chance security can do anything since a NY fan grabbed Rob around the neck and his body guards obviously didn’t see it coming.
I hope that some of Rob’s fans will read these comments and really stop and think how these “mob scenes” are causing more harm than they realize. It is a bad situation. If you really care about Rob then please respect him and give him some space.
Summit should ensure the security of its stars (assisting with security and helping fend off pappz). What happened to Kristen and Dakota after their night at the Roxy last week and now this with Rob being attacked. It is inexcusable. That being said, all the “fans” who claim to love Rob need to treat him as a human being. The grabber should be charged with assault.
Summit Entertainment needs to beef up security for Rob (obviously the bodyguards he has aren’t doing the job sufficiently) and put up barricades around the set to keep those crazy fans from getting too close. Geez, girls, give Rob some ROOM and stop acting like you’ve lost your everloving minds! Why are you carrying your Twilight bags to another movie set!!??
Oh man!! I have strong feeling that Rob anytime attack one day He is too much for girls because of men would be piss off at Rob soo He need 4 or 5 guard because too many girls.. Poor Rob and he need hide very well..
Summit,
this is EPIC FAIL on your part. You need to handle this, so that the cast and crew can focus on filming instead of on keeping the fangirls a safe distance away from Rob.
This is insane! I know teens have crazy hormones and emotions but come one… were are their parents? Did they not teach them any respect/manners. If my daughter did something crazy like that I would be ashamed and nothing TW related for at least a month. I LOVE TW just as much as everyone else but this is the exact reason why I am embarrassed to mention that sometimes.
In the past, I have heard of girls swooning over Donny Osmond or David Cassidy. Now its like Donny who?? I give it a year after the last of the “Twilight” series films to be produced and released that the “Big Deal” over Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart and etc. to be chilled and someone new will come along and be hounded to death by swarms of harmon induced teens, because those same teens will (hopefully) grow up and be replaced by (hopefully) more matured and mentally balanced teens, if possible. Then again, there is hollywood and the papparazzi to keep it going as long as it sells.
Unfortunately I was there to witness all of this. I am working in a lab in the Silver Center and was returning from lunch only to to be bombarded by a crowd of girls screaming. It was quite an obnoxious day at NYU. I did get to see him as I have access to the building, but it was definitely a riot for the “Edward”.
That whole scene was completely disgusting – you could tell how absolutely stressed he was, and the idiot blonde who jumped him should be arrested. Rob needs some killer representation who will make absolute sure that his needs are met and he is protected from crap like this.
Seriously, can the dude not work? If you were walking to work and became bombarded my weird freaky chicks grabbing at you like your a piece of meat would you not be horrified? If your really a “fan” of Rob, leave him alone. He doesn’t owe you anything. He’s an actor. You enjoy him for 2 hours every now again when he puts out a movie, or doing promo for that movie. If people continue to harass him, he’s going to get burned out; or completely terrified and vanish back to London and do stage plays for the next five years. It’s absolutely disgusting how the modern fan girl has no repect for people. He’s not Edward, he’s Rob, and he deserves a life. He going to start to resent the fame and maybe even his work because he can’t get through a scene without people screaming at him. Ugh it’s unbearable.
I really feel for Rob, now I’ll agree he is a great actor, very attractive and sure you’d look twice if you saw him walk down the street but I mean come on there is a fine line between being a fan and a stalker/psycho!!!!! I hope they leave Rob alone and let him get on with shooting the movie or as Stephanie said he may decide to go back to London for good! I am a fan of Rob’s but I would never do that, I have met a number of celebs and have found they respond better when you show them respect and just talk to them like you would anyone else……I mean that are human after all, I hope common sense prevails.
I am new to the whole Twilight craze. Do I think the character of Edward is hot, very… Do I think that Robert is hotter- yes. But I would never act like these woman/girls. It is insane (and sad) how they are acting. I really feel for him. The poor man cannot walk down a street without being assulted. He should be able to press charges, but I doubt if he will. What will it take for the public to back off of celebs? They are simply people, really good at their jobs, who are entitled to live without crazed people running after them. Do they really think their insane stalking does not have any effect on the mental state of the celebs? Sadly, these woman are going to push Rob to his limit, and who knows what will happen then. So any crazed fan who reads this, back off. To the movie studios, close the set to protect your employees. I, for one, would like to see Rob’s future in films, but if things don’t change, why would he want to continue down this path?
