Producer files lawsuit over upcoming Farrah Fawcett documentary

Categories: TV Biz

Yesterday in Santa Monica, a producer who collaborated with Farrah Fawcett on Farrah’s Story, a documentary of the 62-year-old star’s battle with cancer set to air on NBC this Friday, filed a lawsuit against Ryan O’Neal and others, seeking to regain creative control of the project and asking for unspecified damages. TMZ was first to report the suit.

According to the Associated Press, producer Craig Nevius does not name Fawcett as a defendant in the suit or ask that the show be blocked from airing, but it does claim that Fawcett’s longtime companion, O’Neal, his business manager, and Fawcett’s friend Alana Stewart interfered with his role as producer, and that O’Neal physically threatened him. When reached via e-mail, Nevius told EW, "My intent today is the same as it has been since I first started working with Farrah in 2004: to execute her artistic vision in projects that are a reflection of her while at the same time maintaining and protecting her personal privacy to the extent of her expressed wishes and desires. There is no joy in this for me. There is no ego in this for me. This is not about money. This is about Farrah and the trust she placed in me. She’s my friend."

Paul Bloch, a representative for Stewart and O’Neal, told EW today, "We hope and we pray that Farrah doesn’t hear or see of this lawsuit. We didn’t expect this at all, we didn’t get any warning — it’s very sad. We saw the show last night [at a premiere in Beverly Hills, attended by O'Neal, Stewart, and other famous friends] in its entirety and it’s beautiful. It’s amazing how Alana [Stewart] shot this show, she’s the filmographer, and she and Ryan [O’Neal] have been just pivotal here."

When asked whether he believed Nevius’ claims against Stewart and O’Neal,  Bloch replied, "No, no. [Stewart and O'Neal] are her best friends, believe me." (Additional reporting by Mike Bruno)

This is a disgusting example of the lowest form of abuse, abuse of trust and of honor. I hope the suit gets thrown out and the perpertrator jailed for abuse of the legal system.

Mr. Nevius: I hope everybody who is associated with you has the good sense to get as far away from you as possible, because I don’t think your karma is going to be in such good condition from here on out.

Seems like he wants cash. Cuz its not that big a deal to be a producer on this one time documentary. http://bbwdatingsingles.com

What we need is the return of Chris Crocker, and let him/her loose all over this creep.

what a strong and courageous journey she has shared with the world, nothing left out, all for us to share. the part that touched me the most was when she revealed her nearly bald head. her faith, hope, and spirit are an inspiration to us all!!!!!!!. Farrah, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Farrah was always my favorite on “Charly’s Angels”
There are treatments that use lazers to kill the cancer cells. One method is a “Body wrap” for some cancers. There are other methods that use various lazers. Even terminally ill patients got well, with these methods as the cancer cells were lazered.
I believe some of the experimental treatments were in the Children’s Hospital(s) in Los Angeles.
Adults were also treated and in the experimental treatments, in various hospitals, on terminally ill patients with different cancers, a few years ago, they got well. I pray for you. You are an inspiration to me. I hope there is some treatment that can cause you to become entirely well. Sandi

    Dear Farrah,
I watched your show last night and I don’t know how you have gotten through this except with your faith,I know I am not that strong , you are the strongest I know,God Bless you and your family.I don’t know how you have came this far without giving up,you are an angel in this life and will be one in the next life, may the good Lord always be there for you and your family in the days to come.I will hold you and your family in my prayers always.

  • Joyce

It is very obvious how badly Farrah wants to live. She certainly does not need to be condemned at this point when she’s battling for her life. Let her rest in peace as she has suffered much. Her close friends deserve compassion as well. Blessings to all of them & her “daddy” who has already lost one daughter as well as his wife. Life is not fair.

  • Barb

Isn’t it amazing how someone can choose to file suit during this sad time? If you felt you needed to prove a point and file suit, you could have waited. Shame on you – for whatever reason Farrah chose not to use your and your “artistic” talents, I’m glad she didn’t. Truth comes out and she probably already knew what kind of person you really are. After the money. Period.

  • Renee

Farrah, Ryan, Red and your family and friends…You are in my prayers and I pray that God continues to shine His light upon you. Farrah is a very courageous woman, and I am in complete awe of her tremendous fight to continue to embrace this life and to continue shining her light upon us! May all of your prayers be answered. Thank you for letting us share this struggle with you. God knew what He was doing when he chose you to bring this strggle to light. Your fight will not be in vein!!! Much love to you all.

  • Jenny

Farrah. please please, do not give up. treat this cancer as a beast, that you must fight and win! never never give up, l am in remission from Lymphoma, have been for a few years, besides l would miss that brillant smile you have.(l am wounded, but not slain, l will lay down and rest a while and rise toFIGHT again)and if God had meant today to be perfect? he would’nt have made Tomorrow. Farrah, May GOD bless you with health, and may Craig Nevius get just a taste of what you have been through. SHAME on HIM!! I guess HE has not learned that MONEY can’t save ANYBODY! I wish you VERY GOOD HEALTH, or atleast the strength to live as you want to. Craig Nevius you are a rotten person, May GOD teach you something about life, (while you are fortunate enough to live it), though I will pray for you so that you are able to learn from this experience.

The love of God is everpresent. He is around us everywhere. To truly know him we must have the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The greatest power in the Universe will come into your body if you ask him to & it says so in the Bible. ACTS 2:4 and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,& began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. A miracle is still possible if people will shout out to God in the Spirit. With all your might,& all your being search for the truth as he wrote it
