On June 1, legendary movie-maker David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire) will present Interview Project, a 121-part documentary series featuring 3-5 minute portraits of a ordinary (and sometimes extraordinary) Americans from all over the country.
Commissioned by Lynch, and compiled by a team of filmmakers who criss-crossed the states gathering dozens of personal histories, the series — to be premiered every three days throughout the year until next June — is available only at interviewproject.davidlynch.com, but you’ll find an exclusive first look at the very Lynchian project — introduced by the man himself — only here at ew.com. Fantastic. I love to see creative stuff like this.
Hey, I liked this “old guy” and what he had to say…looking forward to another interview.
Just one word… Great…
Very, very touching. Thank you.

wow…. hard to believe that it’s just a documentary
Remarkable. His love for his mom, ambivalence toward his father; his daily walks and ‘come what may’ approach to illness and impending death speak volumes about the human condition. Yet here it is, in his own words, in this lovely little film. More please.
Loved It- looking forward to the project. How fun is this going to be?! I both laughed & cried in those few minutes!
When the most outrageous and lurid seem to reign supreme, this project feels like a breath of pure oxygen.
This is great. real and simple and powerful. A great example of not over-complicating media. Cheers
Packaged snapshot glimpse human-be-ing. I’m interested.
Thanks David. I’m really looking forward to watching the Interview Project.
brilliant!
People asks me, what’s with you and David Lynch? I tell them: he spoke with me in my dream and I will follow his “thing” – I believe that’s my destiny …

LOVE LYNCH, ENCORE! Who are these filmmakers? Did Lynch interview these people himself?
Don’t forget…Lynch charges you money to view content on his website!!
I’m a big fan of David Lynch and this looks like it will be some of his best work I’ve seen in some time. So now I’m guessing he might like to read 50 Interviews (50interviews.com), specifically the last question I asked was “what would it say on your tombstone?” I’m guessing he’ll like those answers best.
If anyone can show the beauty in ordinary, its Lynch! Compelling stuff, but anyone else wondering who actually went out there and interviewed these people?
