Ugly Betty returned to the ABC lineup with a respectable showing, though down slightly from its season average, while Survivor enjoyed a modest uptick over the previous few weeks and Bones held steady in the number-two spot. My Name is Earl fell to its lowest ratings of the season, continuing its steady ratings decline. Parks held on to its entire Earl lead-in and posted the same numbers as last week (though down from its Office-lead-in premiere). The 9 p.m. shows were down from their season averages across the board, and 30 Rock saw its lowest ratings since January. ABC’s dramas won their demos handily, and at 10 p.m. a rerun of Criminal Minds performed well for CBS, while Southland fell from its strong initial showings.

Sad to see Southland slip again. NBC can’t catch a break.

The Private Practice finale was SO great! And very disturbing (Violet and the unstable patient). I totally can’t wait to see how they resolve this one.
Southland is so good, dang it! And, ironically, out of the 10 shows I watch 7 of them are on ABC. The only ones that aren’t are LOST, American Idol, and How I Met Your Mother.
If Earl gets canceled I’ll be p-i-double-star-e-d. Ugh.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE–Can someone at EW write a review/recap of the “Private Practice” finale. The show did not start out well, but I think that it got much better. It was great to see the actors from “Swingtown” (wish they would bring back that show), “Felicity”, and others!! This finale was really great, and it reminded me of just how good “Grey’s Anatomy” can be most of the time!! C’mon EW, you must have someone that wants to write about this one!!–THANKS!!
The only shows that EW recaps are American Idol (as if anybody needs to hear more about that overblown Karaoke show), The Office and Gossip Girl. It’s like no other shows exist for them. As for the Private Practice finale: I’m shocked nobody here has written about it. It was cheap, disgusting and exploitative, and totally changed the tone of the show for the worse. But it at least rates a MENTION, doesn’t it?
