I read the book like a year before this came out and this is pretty much exact aside from the costume changes and final ending which in my opinion worked better for the film. Why are parents letting underage kids see this flick?? Since the characters wear cool costumes you cant keep kids and families away from this thing no matter what. Selling figures at Toys r Us isnt helping. The violence is brutal and the nudity is not appropriate especially considering the thing is on IMAX!! Kids are too damned spoiled these days!

I’ll compare apples to apples, but a “Watchmen” vs. “Dark Knight” comparison is like evaluating a Red Delicious over a Granny Smith. Both movies have major differences: “Watchmen” is rated ‘R,’ which limits the audience more than “Dark Knight’s” ‘PG-13′ rating. Your average moviegoer is also more familiar with the “Batman” name compared to “Watchmen’s” obscurity. I’ll agree that it will likely not have the saying power that the “Dark Knight” juggernaut did, but I’d still suggest both movies had successful three-day openings regardless.
