Rap is finally getting the Ray treatment. New Line is developing Straight Outta Compton, an urban drama about N.W.A. (a.k.a. Niggaz With Attitude), the hip hop group that helped pioneer the gangsta rap movement in the ’80s and early ’90s. The project will chronicle the rise and fall of the rap quartet, founded by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and MC Ren, whose songs were so incendiary (i.e. "F— tha Police") they were banned from radio playlists but still sold millions of albums. Then came the inevitable fiery breakup, a grudge match between the former bandmates, and Eazy-E’s tragic death due to AIDS. The film’s producers, which include Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Tomica Wright (Eazy-E’s widow), and Circle of Confusion entertainment, are now actively searching for a director along the lines of Curtis Hanson (8 Mile).

Unlike junk like Notorious and Get Rich or Die Tryin, this might actually be worth checking out.
its a bummer notorious wasn’t very good. because biggie was awsome, he deserves a good biopic
great…another flick portraying idiots yelling about guns, drugs, hos n the hood over a drum machine and samples.
you’s a bitch and a hater.
you don’t know much about this type of music, well, you should learn. it actually has a lot of meaning and N.W.A. changed the united states. so i think you should see this movie to learn about what really goes on in the streets
Yes the baddest group of the land reborn. This might put gangsta rap on the map again. N.w.a the greatest r.i.p eazy-e
I. Cannot. Wait. For. This. Movie.
Not interested. Just another movie to glorify the violence inherent in gangsta rap. How many shootings will happen on premiere nite? STAY TUNED!

Wow, ‘NoThankYou’, thanks for that insgihtful feedback/advertisement for whatever the hell your trying to pimp. How many shootings will happen opening night? What is this 1991? Is New Jack City coming out? Aww, the poor ignorant white folk of the world are scared of a movie about rappers from 20 years ago. What a shame
sweet, i hope they do a great job with it. all the fans will be watching. even my younger brother, who was only a toddler when Easy died, but is a big fan, us being native Los Angelenos and all.
This is going to be the greatest movie ever
This will be an explosive movie, with a lot of action! I’d really like to see what really went down with that group and the conflicts and confrontations of the members. Especially the making of that classic album with Dr. Dre. They really did well in sales for those who wanted rap with explicit themes and adult language, a sharp contrast from the clean cut sounds of Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince. It will really expose us to Compton, California. Because of that group exposing their once rough streets to the world, you don’t see any more negative press about that city anymore. A lot more communtity and positive press are what I read out of Compton these days. They radically changed its image.
Pimpin’ ain’t easy…
where is the Juice Crew movie? wasn’t that supposed to be in theaters already?! let’s get to it!
Great, a movie about a bunch of rich black kids who decided to make a rap band. They wont give you the really story, just a fake one about how they lived in the hood growing up. What a bunch of BS! Non of them have a clue what its like in a hood.
You want to keep it real, donate 15% of the profit from this movie into rebuilding inner city ghettos. Help the compton kids out that really live there, with new schools and other important things.
you dont know shit
Eazy-E was deff from the hood
In fact a top Movie !

Oh man! I had this Idea like 10 years ago! Oh well. But I think that there is only 1 director even worthy of directing a flick like that. Well 2 actualy Number 1,”Boyz in da Hood” director John Singleton, Or 2 since this movie is capable of having so much power and controversy behind it I’d have to say Oliver Stone. Thats 4 real
Pity Dj Yella didnt get a mention
