Exclusive: 'Seinfeld' cast to appear on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'

The Seinfeld cast is making another must-see appearance. EW has learned exclusively that the four stars of NBC’s long-running comedy — Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards — will be featured in a multiple-episode story arc on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm this fall. The cameos will mark the first time that all four actors have appeared together in a scripted TV show since Seinfeld went off the air nearly 11 years ago. No date has been set for this event, or for Curb’s seventh season, which will run for 10 weeks. Curb, of course, was created by and stars Larry David, the cocreator of Seinfeld.

The episodes, which are currently shooting in Los Angeles, appear to represent a continuation of David’s relationship with the Seinfeld stars. As Curb fans know, Seinfeld, Louis-Dreyfus, and Alexander have made individual appearances on the award-winning series over the years.

What awesome news, can’t wait. Oh how I’ve missed Curb, still among the 3 funniest shows on TV.

  • chuffed

This is the best news ever.
Perhaps Larry can find some work for the Schwim too. Let’s hope he doesn’t have to resort to making this one:

Read earlier today that Curb is coming back in September

  • Galactic

I wonder if Michael Richards is going to go on a rage-fueled, profanity-filled racist rant on the show… Not enough N-bombs on that show imho.

    • seinfeld

If It was Chris Rock going off on white people it would have been fine….such a double standard…

      • mark

completely incomparable. People who preach “reverse racism”, double standards, and how we should all be colorblind are clueless.

    • jeff

why don’t you move on shitbag.. comments like that are illogical and unnecessary.

  • JonDie

Won’t see it. We’re cable- and satellite-free and always will be. No TV show, no matter how good it is, is worth paying a subscription to see.

    • 1FATHEMO

JonDie – Spot-On Post!! My Grandmother and Grandfather would have felt exactly the same way you guys do – had they lived past 1957…..

    • e-ka

But you pay for the internet when information is free at your local library and the news can keep you up to date..hmmmmmm

  • rerun

    Ummmm, okay Jon.
Never watched the show but maybe i will someday.

  • minja

Seinfeld sux….why do people waist their time with that show!

    • Jody

Minja, People who can spell are usually the Seinfeldian types. Don’t think too deeply about it.

    • tyler

u know what U suck. Seinfeld rocks!!

    • d

      your an idiot!

    • Ken

Oh. thanks for that. I really didnt realized until this morning that Seinfeld “sux”. I’m going to have to find out what “sux” means. Meanwhile, I’ll just assume that it’s bad and throw out all my Sienfeld DVDs. Thanks again for that info. I was obviously misinformed.

  • HD

I can’t even watch/enjoy Seinfeld reruns without remembering Michael Richards talking about black slaves hanging from trees with corks in their a**. No thank you, ever again.

  • Mikey T.

He said forks… not corks dumbass!

  • HD

To Mikey T., that’s so much less offensive now. Thanks for clarifying dick wad!

JonDie: I mean…what was the point of your post???
Anyway, I’m more intrigued to watch to see if they bring up the whole Michael Richards is a racist issue considering half of Curb’s episodes usually involve Larry either making an unintentional racist comment or getting into a fight over race with a non-white person. “Curb” can still have moments of awesomeness. I’ll never forget the dinner scene with a contestant from “Survivor” got into a fight with a Holocaust survivor over who had it worse. Genius.

Jerry Seinfeld is the most overrated “star” in history. He made it riding the coattails and stealing the limelight of of Larry David. This was inevitable. LD is the man.

  • Jeff

Seinfeld is the most overrated comedy in TV History. It’s a bunch of neurotic New Yorkers who have no idea of how to act as humans without being completely self-absorbed… Who cares…

    • Mark

What you described is exactly what the show is about, what the characters are like, and the reason why it is so funny. Using your observations to bash the show doesn’t work with Seinfeld fans, because we love the show for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

  • Jim Ulnick

Curb, watch all the re-runs and pick up a different line everytime. Looking forwards to the Fall’s reunion. Watch all the Seinfeld and Curb re-runs everynight and still laugh at the great comedy. Nothing else on except shoot um up!!!

  • Mike

Every 15 years or so a GREAT comedy about NYC is made. Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Odd Couple, Sienfeld. Always funny- no matter how many times I watch it.

  • sucker@seinfeldfreak.com

People with negative comments, why do you have to share? All your attitudes are doing in showing how pissy you are!
If Seinfeld made people laugh, who cares why?!

  • Bracken

Well Jeff, that was the whole idea of the show…did you ever watch it?

  • Jeff

Yes I did watch it, and for the time I thought it was fair, not appointment TV, but if it’s on I’ll sit through it. But with time (reruns) the show become has incredibly dated, not funny (in my eyes) and it’s about basically a bunch of very unlikable people. Friends, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners and the Odd Couple were all great, Seinfeld not so much… That’s all. If it makes you laugh then great! I just didn’t and don’t understand all the hype surrounding this show. Chocolate and Vanilla I guess…

  • Brad

    haha Jeff likes Friends.

  • chuffed

Hey Galactic – if want N-bombs, then this movie is for you:

  • chuffed

Ha! Good spot, Brad. Someone admitting they liked friends better than Seinfeld. It pretty much says it all.

  • Joe

I do not get HBO but I do really enjoy the Seinfeld reruns. I may sign up for a little while to watch the reunion.
Seinfeld is one of the best shows ever.

  • RJ

Jeff. Oh Jeff. So no one told you life was gonna be this wayyyy. I bet that intro just makes you light up. I can understand why some people think Friends was a good show and Seinfeld wasn’t. Mass audiences will always be subject to formulaic television. You will always find shows like Friend’s to be hilarious. When a show like Seinfeld is declared the best show of all time and you don’t understand why, you are really better off just watching that Friends episode when Chandler makes that sarcastic joke (the really hilarious one) to ease your mind from the confusion.

  • Zach

10 weeks only?? HBO sucks for having such short seasons. And this reunion – will they actually appear together at any time??

  • Janet Jacobson

Love “Curb”! IMHO the best Seinfeld was the Merve Griffon set. Priceless.

  • Travis

    1) I don’t have HBO, cheaper to buy the single episodes off i-Tunes since they probably won’t be in more than 4-5 shows.
    2) I like the cast a lot (Julia is still gorgeous!), but not looking forward to seeing Michael “The Ranting Racist” Richards on TV again. Because of him I now have trouble watching and rarely watch the old Seinfeld reruns.

  • cardo

Jeff Seinfeld was a show about “…a bunch of neurotic New Yorkers who have no idea of how to act as humans without being completely self-absorbed” thus its genius is so original to any other bunch of quirky lovable comedic characters.

  • Peoples

It’s nice to know that a racist like Michael Richards is still able to promote a comic image. Wiil he be in black face for the episodes? Will the highlight be a lynching? I use to like that guy until I saw that clip

  • fishmaster

People need to move on about Michael Richards…….
