With Watchmen bowing Friday, director Zack Snyder is already busy prepping his next endeavor, the 1960s-based action fantasy Sucker Punch, based on his own script. Snyder is still putting together his all-female cast, but sources say Amanda Seyfried is in negotiations to play the lead role of Baby Doll, a young woman who has been committed to an insane asylum and fantasizes about escaping with the help of her fellow inmates, who take on fantastical roles in her mind. Offers are out to a slew of young actresses to fill out those roles, including Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood, and Emma Stone. The $100 million budgeted film for Warner Bros. is scheduled to begin production in the Fall. Says Snyder, who is also producing the film with his wife Deborah Snyder, “I already did the all-male cast with 300, so I’m doing the opposite end of the spectrum.”

Just when I get excited that Amanda Seyfried is in negotiations for the lead in a movie, I hear offers are also out to Vanessa Hudgens and Evan Rachel Wood. Ugggghhh.

Sounds like the beginning of the downpath for zac. This film sounds lame. Like it exists simply as a reason to film special effects with sexy chicks. As cool as that sounds, it rarely works for big bucks at the box office.

I know for sure Vanessa Hudgens can and will contribute towards making this film a hit. Just give her a chance. She is superfit, can kick ass, sing, dance and given the opportunity I am 100% sure she can display her acting talents. She does needs to break away from Disney type movies. Besides she has a good following of adult fans who will support her all the way. I say Snyder should give her the role.
Come on! How many big stars have been called no talent when they first started out. I say, all she needs is the right movie and role. Amanda and Rachel got lucky, that’s what. So I hope Snyder realises this and Vanessa is one untapped talent waiting to burst out.
I feel if the general public would remain open minded on Ms. Hudgens we may all be surprised. I don’t think any of us would say she has arrived, but if we don’t allow new talent to emerge, Hollywood will exist no longer.
BE open minded about her. Theatre is the hardest form of entertainment, and without her and Zac Efron on HSM the movie wouldn’t been anything.
Granted, it isn’t suppose to comment in some grown up market, it is suppose to be pure entertainment and it acheived just that for children. Hell, I’m an adult and when I left I wanted to run through a field of daisies. Simple,and carefree. It achieved it’s goal.
