Ratings: 'Brothers & Sisters' strong, though no match for 'Jesse Stone'

Categories: TV Ratings

ABC’s Brothers & Sisters brought the high drama with a two-hour movie Sunday, and it had the ratings to match. The Walkers’ baby/heart attack/embezzlement triple whammy pulled in 11.9 million viewers, the show’s best numbers since its season premiere — and all without its reliable Desperate Housewives lead-in. Of course, that didn’t stop Tom Selleck: His competing Jesse Stone: Thin Ice brought CBS 15.1 million viewers. Meanwhile, NBC eked out a respectable 8.9 million for the season premiere of Celebrity Apprentice – a far cry from Trump’s more boastable days, but hardly a disaster given the tough competition and total lack of lead-in support. (The net filled the rest of the night with clip shows of Tracy Morgan and Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live.) Friday night once again proved fertile ground for mysteries like CBS’ Ghost Whisperer (11.6 million) and Numb3rs (9.6 million), not edgy sci-fi shows like Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (3.4 million) and Dollhouse (4.1 million, down from its 4.8 million-viewer premiere).
