How could you not keep him on as director? I am so impressed with how well New Moon was done. Thank you from all of the readers. You got it right! This movie was such a fantastical tribute to this series as well as the author. Not only did you keep the movie true to the book, you also NAILED the characters!! That is exactly how most of us invisioned them. The interaction between Bella, Jacob and Edward was spot on!! I love the humor that was thrown in there. It really made the characters more personable. I think that's what was missing from the first movie. It didn't capture the true essence of who each of them were. If Summit doesn't keep Weitz on for the rest of the series, it will be a real tragedy. No movie is ever as good as the book. In this case...I don't agree. You can ask anyone who has read and seen both movies so far. This movie was AMAZING!! I truely hope that Weitz continues to direct the series. It was like he knew exactly how we all saw the movie playing out in our heads and brought it to the big screen. I only hope that Eclipse is done with the same enthusiasm. Chris Weitz was completely awesome. The graphics, the trailer, was sweet and overwhelming, and I didn't even enjoy the first film because of all the new material that ruined the entire plot to come together well. Anyways, I believe he's going to do some swell job on the film New Moon and that Juan Antonio Baya guy will do well in the action scenes, but not on the story itself. oh well.. a fresh outlook on the story is what counts. hopefully, we won't be disappointed [although a bunch of snobby idoitic hormonal tweens twits will be]... they have to either rush the films because vampires can't age and the actors have to keep the same image for the characters (the actors will have a different image over the long span - have you seen the drastic changes in the harry potter films?), or B) summit is just trying to make money.
