Jimmy Fallon, whose film career post-Saturday Night Live has yielded lukewarm results like Fever Pitch and the Queen Latifah action comedy Taxi, tells EW that aside from a small role in Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, Whip It! (produced by Fallon’s wife, Nancy Juvonen), he’s done with acting for now. So don’t expect the former SNL player and future Late Night
talk show host to be turning up on the big screen anytime soon (not that there are many Fallon fans hankering for a Taxi sequel). Then again, he cautions, he could be swayed to return to acting if a certain Family Ties alum is willing to costar. “Maybe a movie of the week,” jokes Fallon, who starts his new NBC hosting gig on March 2. “See if Meredith Baxter is available. I could really be into that.”

I’m sad Conan has to move to Los ANgeles to host the Tonight Show. I don’t get it why it still can’t be in New York.
EDIT: “So don’t expect the former SNL player and future Late Night talk show host to be turning up on the big screen anytime soon (not that there are many Fallon fans).”
apparently he’s doen with comedy too
@Sharlin, I was thinking the exact same thing. I love everything the way it is over at Late Night.
WTF?
Spam alert…
When did he start acting?
well, i for one am devestated.
okay, not really…
Aw, give him a break. He was incredibly funny on SNL, especially Weekend Update — that’s the kind of thing he excels at, not acting. I’m a Fallon fan and I’ll watch his talk show but I don’t really get what NBC gains from moving things around like they did. *shrugs* Whatever, I don’t watch Conan or Leno anyway. Letterman is where it’s at!
I never understood the Fever Pitch hatred. I LOVE that movie! Then again, I love baseball…
Still. He’s not a bad actor.
Alright, Taxi wasn’t very good, but Fever Pitch was great. It’s a greatly underrated comedy.
i guess Robert de Niro will be winning more roles now that Fallon is taking himself out of the pool of candidates…
Good. Because Jimmy Fallon was just plain mediocre in the movies he was in! Queen Latifah outdid him and out acted him in every scene of his first movie Taxi! He just couldn’t translate from sketch comedy of Saturday Night Live to the silver screen in movies. I hope he’s better off doing the late night show than some movie that tanks at the box office.
Well, here’s one great thing that will come out of this talk show: no more horrible acting from Jimmy Fallon.
That’s a start. Now if Fallon will only stop breathing our oxygen, we’ll all be happy. He has about as much talent as a dead rat, actually less.
Audrey, those sketches on SNL weren’t his. Those were the words of Tina Fey. So Tina Fey is funny, not Jimmy.
when did this monkey ever act? i thought he was always playing himself. who’s going to watch his late late lame a$$ show? dance chimp dance!
I am a member in a comedy entertainment site,it has lots of features.
