The star-studded romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You is the early leader at the weekend box office, having grossed $10.6 million on Friday. That’s well ahead of the $6.3 mil taken in by hearty holdover Taken on the weekend’s first day, and it far surpasses the grosses for the frame’s other big new releases — Coraline ($4.5 mil), Push ($3.5 mil), and The Pink Panther 2 (a very disappointing $3.4 mil). Do NOT go see HJNTIY it made me lose my faith in human beings. My boyfriend spent an hour after convincing me that not all people were jerks, and that he really did love me…
HJNTIY…very entertaining…didn’t look at my watch once! (Unlike the miserable Benjamin Button and Revolutionary Road flicks)
Saw Revolutionary Road last week and HJNTIY today, and it was just the pick-me-up I needed after watching Kate and Leo battling it out…It’s not gonna win any awards or anything, but it was cute, sweet, moderately amusing, and they pulled together a cool, hip young cast that’s nice to look at. I give it an A- for its cheering-up quotient and a B for overall romantic-comedy goodness.
Such an entertaining movie, and is absolutely worth watching. People who expect some big ‘wow’ movie that will give an adrenaline rush or an epiphany about love are gonna be disappointed, of course. It’s just a fun, cool-to-pass-time romantic comedy. The star-studded cast definitely did help. If you watch, you can just sit back and enjoy.
Caitlin, one casual, kill-a-weekend-afternoon movie is enough to necessitate your boyfriend having to reiterate his love for you for an hour? This movie is THAT powerful. Not liking a movie is one thing, but having it rock you to the point of needing lengthy consolation; and THIS of all movies to be the one to do that? That’s really pathetic. I feel bad for the guy.
