The second episode of Fox’s new psychodrama Lie To Me stayed mentally tough, losing just 8 percent of its healthy debut audience from last week. Add Lie’s 9 p.m. win over ABC’s Lost to good numbers for everyone’s favorite karaoke show American Idol, and Fox ended Wednesday night with more viewers than any other two networks combined. Not bad for a net that airs its news at 10. CBS’ repeats performed well, particularly CSI: NY, which won the 10 p.m. hour against new offerings from NBC and ABC.

Damn Fox and their crappy reality shows.
Lost’s numbers keep going down. And Life on Mars has very little chance of taking off again. ):
Loved Sarah Palin’s photo in “Lie to me” HAHA how much did she get for that?
I was dismayed and confused by Life on Mars last night, when one leaves its audience with a cliff hangar, one should address said cliff hangar it some way. Lost also had a lot of commerical breaks, enough that I saw most of MLB’s top AL plays. With Lie to Me, it is the first show I am feeling deprived of with my lack of DVR.
Annie, I love your DWTS recaps, but this ratings report is very misleading. LOST beat LIE TO ME in the demo that counts – 18-49 – and it didn’t have the biggest lead in on television, which LTM squandered more than half of and even lost viewers at 9:30.
I’m sick of ABC’s good shows suffering in the ratings. First, Pushing Daisies (my beloved!) gets canceled, and now Lost isn’t even pulling in big numbers. Enough is enough!
What was up with Life on Mars not delivering on its cliffhanger?? And EW, why don’t you report the 18-49 ratings too??
Kate, the producers said in the podcast (didn’t even know it existed) that the episodes are out of chronological order. They were premiering next week’s episode yesterday, but they switched it. Apparently it was to help new viewers, if there were any, understand the show a little better.
I’m pretty sure that the whole basement thing will be addressed next week. And the shooting.
Maybe that’s what the bandaging in the promo was?
DVR numbers probably aren’t factored in yet.
Who still watches American Idol? No one I know.
Thank god.
Moronic TV for the masses.
