Widely circulated reports that Vanessa Hudgens has auditioned for the Twilight sequel, New Moon, are, it turns out, completely false. Sources inside Summit Entertainment and Hudgens’ camp tell EW that the filmmakers aren’t looking at the star (best known as High School Musical’s Gabriella Montez) for any role in the soon-to-be-shooting Twilight followup.
Last week, Taylor Lautner was rehired to reprise his role as Jacob Black — a decision that had been on hold until series author Stephenie Meyer offered her endorsement. Now, New Moon director Chris Weitz is set to get down to the business of compiling the rest of the cast, a process that is expected to take the next couple of months. Certainly, an East High School alum could make the cut, but it’s too soon for any tweeners out there to start getting giddy about the prospect.

I would have pulled my hair out. She can’t act, and she would have been a terrible Bella. That would have made me even more upset with the movies, which I already don’t appreciate. They drug the whole wonderful world of Twilight to all those “OMG”ers. It sickens my very soul. Hudgens would have kept up with the film tradition of poor casting, though.

Whew! what a relief. Please do not get any of those “Disney” people in the Twilight movies. No offense to Vanessa, Selena, Miley etc. but our entertainment is so saturated with them on the T.V. and music, can some of us catch a break from all that here? There would be such a break in cast chemistry if you add the Disneyettes to the movie. Keep the movie real and stay with the flow it has.

I admit the look is SLIGHTLY there for leah but thats as far as it goes. leah has very strong attitude and character, i question whether Vanessa can actually portray this role very well. I rather see someone else do it.

THANK GOD!!! The last thing we need is to have a publicity seeking non-acting tabloid hound ruining New Moon. No Vanessa and certainly no Efron!! They are so cheesey, that one show discussing the Golden Globes red carpet arrivals said when Vanessa and Efron were on camera to move on. They weren’t discussing them, LOL. If entertainment shows think you are so tired that they didn’t want to even discuss what you were wearing, that’s bad. Keep her on the Disney channel and away from the Twilight series. She’s not doing it because she believes in the project, she’ll be doing it because it’s the hottest thing in hollywood, it’s popular. I bet she hasn’t even read the books.
