kate hudson will most likely redeem herself when she’s next seen in Nine, b/c, hello it’s a feature starring Daniel Day-Lewis, so it’s bound to be quite good. her first smart move since Almost Famous. although, she’s only one of many female supp. characters, and i wouldnt be surprised if she found a way of sucking. she had just better not kill any scenes with day-lewis in them. that will be unforgiveable. but of course, if day-lewis is in the scene, she’ll be pretty much invisible.

To Matt2 – I’m pretty sure Anne Hathaway was in ‘the Princess Diaries’, not ‘The Princess Bride.’ And here’s a quick rewrite of ‘Bride Wars’ based on what any real people would do: “Aw, you screwed up and booked our weddings at the same time? Hey, let’s have a double wedding. YAY!” movie ends.

I think the Bride Wars estimation is high. The two hit films of theirs each had higher profile co-stars who basically brought in the audience. Like Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston in Marley and Me, if you’re giving them credit for making those films successful, you’re sadly mistaken. Marley and Me was a major NY times bestseller. I read the book years ago. It’s simply a stunner. Outrageously funny and sad, everyone I know who read it, loved it. It would still have been a blockbuster movie even if it starred Paula Poundstone and Kevin Nealon. Still, give credit where it’s due and Anne Hathaway did carry “The Princess Bride” franchise for Disney. So, I’m thinking more like a 18 million dollar weekend or a little less for Bride Wars. The rest should fall in the following order: 2. Marley and Me-13.3 million; 3. Bedtime Stories- 11.8 million; 4. Benjamin Button- 11.6 million; and 5. Gran Torino- 11.4 million

I think the main reason that Button is doing so well is because it is a non threatening movie and the all the promoting it to death on tv. As i recall i never saw a tv ad for Pitt’s Jesse James movie last year.

Agree that The Unborn will probably do better than predicted and that people are waiting for a new horror film. The last one that was released was The Haunting of Mary Hartly and that did not even make $15mil.
SAW V was not impressive either from what I’ve heard (hope that’s the last one)
I think people might be looking for something more original when it comes to horror films. If The Unborn fails to deliver, it will probably die fast in the theaters too.

To me it seems that The Unborn will do better than expected. There hasn’t been a new horror movie in quite some time.

K so first off I think I am finally going to agree with these predictions lol. And for all the confusion– what he meant by “kate rebounded with fools gold”– sure the movie got bad reviews, but it drew in an audience– and made 70 million dollars. thats a rebound for kate

“Bride Wars” looks ridiculous, predictable and lame, just like every other movie Kate Hudson has done. I think she just shows up for the easy paycheck. I’m guessing that “The Unborn” will do better than expected.
