Well that sucks! Catherine Hardwick was an awesome director for Twilight, why not New Moon? I meen yeah a couple of things got rearanged in Twilight, like the van scene,where Edward didn't stay with Bella very long, but it's probably shortened because if they would have put everything in the movie that the book had, it would've been WAY longer. But back to the point..Now things are Probably going to get screwed up. Edward and Bella were perfectly fine, in Twilight A.K.A Robert, and Kristen. Why Make A Change Now?! (Nothing against the new director.)

Omertax, The Golden Compass was an awful movie. It was very choppy...it didn't flow at all. Although the actors and the special effects were awesome and they stayed pretty close to the book, when they changed which characters did stuff and combined other characters, it confused the crap out of me. Anyway, they changed the complete order of how it happened and if they had just tacked on 10 more minutes they could have been where the book left off. I was severely disappointed with the movie.The books are just epic. Now to Twilight. Honestly...I felt Twilight was better than the book, because the movie downplayed the flaws in Bella's and Edwards "perfect" relationship...anyway...not going to try to start a fight on here...so I'll stop that.

I really liked the way she directed/shot the movie because it came across personal and intimate like the book. Im just mad because now it will be like harry potter, where every movie looks completely different with each new director which I hate. I know that directors don't want to copy each other, I get it, but for the viewer it sucks.

I would, also, retain the original lead-actors...the chemistry was deceivingly natural and convincing. Rober and Kristen played their roles well, and I may not consider seeing the "The New Moon" if they are not in it. I'm sure most fans of Twilight feels the same.
I was so disappointed-although I wasn't expecting much, as movies rarely live up to books I enjoy. I figure the direction definitely had something to do with the overall tone and feel of the movie...hopefully this change will be for the better. I felt that she perfectly conveyed the immediacy one feels when falling madly in love for the first time. The films best attribute is its atmosphere, including the cinematography and music. Also, by narrowing the focus to mostly just Bella and Edwards relationship, the film doesnt' overstay its welcome...However, I can also see the other side, because I HATED the last Harry Potter film, and it was essentially a striped down version of the book as well, so I guess it all depends on if you are a fan of the books. In addition to my previous comment, I just read that Chris Weitz, who directed the Golden Compass, is now assigned to direct New Moon... Unbelievable! I can't even begin to say how much I HATED the Golden compass... HORRIBLE, Horrible movie, and SO boring. If New moon turns out anything like the Golden Compass, it would be tragic. The Golden Compass is typical of those commercial, cookie cutter, Hollywood movies. I still haven't seen Twilight, but am extremely disappointed to hear that Hardwicke won't be directing the sequel. I absolutely Love her work. I think a less... um airy fairy (?) director will probably bring a new edge to new moon that wasn't really there in Twilight. I enjoyed the movie but I think it could have been better. I found Kristina Stewarts portrayal of Bella almost ruined the movie for me though, she was completely the wrong actor for the job, she didn't have the same attitude that Bella had in the books. Kristina made her too gloomy and took all of the life out of the character. Edward really made the movie for me, Robert Patterson was perfect for the role, which made up for my disappointment with Bella.

The kids writing these comments do not realize that Catherine Hardwicke was not in charge of the sequences in the film. If scenes were left out or moved around, it had everything to do with the way the script was written, and Hardwicke did not write the script. If the film seemed rushed it's because Hardwicke was being insanely rushed by Summit. As far as demonstrating Bella and Edward's passion for each other, the author, Stephenie Meyer, had Hardwicke tone it down.

If you want a commercial film, Hollywood fluff, to appease your limited appreciation of the art of filming, then you're getting what you want. Catherine Hardwicke isn't new at her art, she's a pro. You were probably raised on the Disney Channel and that's what you're craving to see and that's what they're going to give you. M.I.C. K.E.Y. M.O.U.S.E.

Ah Summit Entertainment!They simply don't want to spend money nor time working on the next movie, but what's more important, timing or quality. When you're doing a sequel and especially when the first movie has been highly recieved, acclaimed and loved by people, then they've got a certain status to hold and the next movie shouldn't be any less but more..I mean it's only common sense and Obviously Summit has none whatsoever! It's about time Summit came up with a good movie and it's thanks to Catherine Hardwicke; but Chris or whatever his name is(the golden compass) producer..well..he didn;t a good job on his movie let aloone someone elses..I just hate it when they do that..change actors and producers..different producers or actors=different feel to the movie, different movie all together.

I'd say that it is a fair timing for New Moon to come out because it was a day after Twilight came out.I am really hoping New Moon will be the smwe and anyone won't change the roles for Bella and Edward because they just match the characters right like Kristen Stewart- she doesn't show so much feeling but that's hoow Bellas supposed to be.All the cast members in Twilight deserve to have these roles.=P

Ok well now the next movie New Moon won't come out till the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010. Now that really makes me sad and mad at the same time. Why did the person or whatever her name is have to quit?!.God really that makes me mad. I would just get a new person to to New Moon like right now and strat makeing New Moon. And then it would come out right on time in the summer. I know it is a hard job and it takes a long time to set up a movie but we have waited to long know and I am mad at that women who quit. So you know what I am going to keep my hopes up that New Moon will come out in the summer no mater what because didn't you say the first movie twilight was suppose to come out on the 21first on December? But no it came out earyier. So I am going to keep my hopes up that it comes out in the summer time.

Well i thought the movie was okay i was a little disappointed but thats to be expected cause they cant put everything in the movie. but i agree completely with whoever said there should have been more chemistry and romance between edward and bella, but honestly it was all kristen fault she was completely disgusting in the movie. a 5 year old could have done a better job then her. and the script was just awful what in the crap was the thing about the SPIDER MONKEY that was just stupid. And they need to give Kristen some actual lines or something instead of all the spazin she was doin i could even understand what she was tryin to get across half the time. well point being is that she was PATHETIC. and whoever doesnt like ROBERT and EDWARD is a complete idiot... he is completely wonderful.. and for your information Stephenie Meyer let him read what she had completed of Midnight Sun so he could get better in character. so if you dont think he did a good job READ the books again cause
