Megan Mulally’s guest turn as a repressed lesbian championing “family values” scored in the ratings (if not with Julia Louis Dreyfus’ character) on The New Adventures of Old Christine–the show was up 800,000 viewers from its last airing to 8.3 million. Its lead-out, Gary Unmarried, stayed solid at 8 million, Criminal Minds slayed 14.7 million, and CSI: NY nabbed another 12.9 million. Which is all a long way of saying CBS ruled another Wednesday night.
ABC’s outgoing Pushing Daisies (5 million) and Dirty Sexy Money (5.2 million), on the other hand, earned their cancellations, while NBC’s still-kicking Life (5.5 million) continued to struggle. Fox’s modest surprise hit Secret Millionaire (7.2 million) impressively held onto most of its premiere audience from last week. And The CW’s Stylista (1.3 million)? Not so en vogue.

The Adventures of Old Christine is a GREAT show — it is the funniest sitcom on the air. I just hope that it moves out of Idol’s path in January(Idol is gonna air in the same time slot). I think it could do well on Thursdays at 8 or Wed at 9.
glad to see people tuning in for “Old Christine”. People are slowly finding it in its new timeslot.
I’m seriously going to miss Dirty Sexy Money — last night’s episode was the best ever! Is there any chance another network will pick up the show?
So glad that Old Christine is constantly building week to week. Hopefully, CBS will do the right thing and renew it next season, as either an lead-in for this Wednesday Night Block or back in the safety of the Monday 9:30 slot.
