The Eye once again dominated weekend ratings, according to early Nielsen estimates. Though 60 Minutes dropped nearly 2 million viewers from last week (which enjoyed an audience-boosting assist courtesy of Anderson Cooper’s race against Michael Phelps), it still won the 7 p.m. Sunday hour with 13.8 million viewers. CBS stayed in the game at 8 p.m. with The Amazing Race, which dropped a mil to 10.6 million, though it couldn’t quite beat NBC’s Sunday Night Football’s 11.5 million, which was down about 2 million from last week. Desperate Housewives (16 million) continued to hold its own for ABC, ticking up slightly since last week, and CBS’ Front of the Class, a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie about a boy’s triumph despite Tourette’s syndrome, pulled in 11.8 million viewers to help win the night overall for the network.
The rest of the weekend was business as usual, with CBS trouncing the competition on Friday thanks to Ghost Whisperer (9.7 million), a repeat of Numb3rs (8.5 million), and a new Numb3rs (9.7 million). Football won Saturday for ABC with 8.4 million viewers, though CBS’ 48 Hours Mystery managed a typical 6.6 million as well.

I’m so glad the Hallmark movie, Front of the Class, did so good in the ratings. It was a beautiful movie and the lead actor, Jimmy Wolk was incredible. Thank you Hallmark.
For a cynic and a person who can hardly stand inspirational teacher stories, I loved it. The actors were great and the story was played out SO well.
PS Is it just me or was that the Trickster from Supernatural in one of those Hallmark commericals?
