CBS’s airing of the Christmas special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was Wednesday night’s most-watched program, reining in 11.7 million people who heard “Won’t you ride with me tonight” in their heads and thought, “Aiiiiight.” The night’s other Christmas offering, NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center, drew a solid 10.3 million viewers, and with the boost of reliable serial Law & Order (11.3 million viewers) and an extremely encouraging turnout for Life (8.1 million, up a whopping 40 percent from its last new episode), NBC ran neck-and-neck with CBS as the night’s most-watched network. CBS’ other one-time programming earned decent audiences: 7.1 million people watched the hour-long Grammy Nominations Concert, and 8.7 million opted to feel way fatter than they actually are while watching The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Fox’s two-hour series debut of Secret Millionaire averaged 7.4 million viewers, with 27 percent more tuned in to its last half hour than to its first. For ABC, Private Practice saw an 11 percent increase from last week, while Pushing Daisies (4.9 million) gained half a million viewers, and Dirty Sexy Money (5.7 million) performed slightly better than last week. (ABC canceled both Daisies and DSM two weeks ago.) Finally, The CW aired back-to-back eps of Stylista, and the new one (1.4 million viewers) only beat the rerun by 100k viewers. That’s almost as crazy as Anne Slowey’s laughably miserable attempts to walk around in heels!
