Even though Project Runway has yet to set a finalized premiere date for its sixth season, Tim Gunn tells EW.com that February’s final runway
show at New York Fashion Week will be completely spoiler-free. Rather than trotting out at least a dozen decoys at the event, Gunn says Lifetime has a trick up its sleeve. "We’re not going to show decoys," he says. "It was Lifetime’s concept how to do this, and I said to them, ‘I couldn’t have thought of this if I was given 50 years to think about it.’ It’s a brilliant solution. It’s really great." Does he have any hints about what the ploy could be? "I can’t," he demurs. "But it’s really brilliant." (Our prediction? Runway will show three anonymous collections, sans the designer introductions.)
Of course, that’s only if the series even makes it back on air. Gunn admits that he and Heidi Klum are worried Runway will get shelved by the courts, especially because, "it’s such a great season," regardless of the controversial relocation to Los Angeles. "I was really dubious about what it would be like, that it would be not as intense and as substantial a season," he says. "[But] it was phenomenal."

Sending the line’s down without knowing who the designer is isn’t fool proof. Designers like last years Korto and Santino to name a couple had such a strong look that you would have known their lines with or without being told
I think they should just time the show better. Film the show the same, but start airing sooner. There are what 15 designers, start airing the show 12 weeks before fashion week, then the finale can coincide with the actual event, maybe even air it live. There is no consequence of getting kicked off if 6 designers get to show at bryant park, thats the whole point of the show.
They should have left the show on Bravo. It is one one of my favorite shows. Now I don’t know when it will be seen.
This show belongs on BRAVO! If tv channels were clothing, Lifetime would be “mom-jeans” and BRAVO would be those pants that make your butt look amazing. A perfect vehicle for a fashion show! However, where Tim Gunn goes, I will follow.
Another reason the no intro. thing thing wouldn’t work: the models. Unless they don’t use their regular season models in the show or go back to the format of model selection season 1 (and even that wouldn’t work for sure; Kara Saun and Jenny were together from the wedding challenge all the way to the end, and everyone else really had their finale model for at least a few weeks towads the end), the the models will mostly give away the finalists.
Yeah, I highly doubt showing the collections annonomously would work. You’d know whose collection was whose anyway just by the type of things they usually design. Look at anyone that showed at BP this year and tell me you wouldn’t have known which collection was Leanne’s, or Korto’s, or Kenley’s. Same for the past few seasons.

Are we ever going to know the outcome about Project Runway Season 6. I love that show and I’m really ready to see it.
