I totally agree. I wonder if they take into consideration the number of views that the show gets online at abc.com…If Pushing Daisies didn’t have such a sucky time slot, I would so be planted on the couch watching it. Alas…if they cancel it, I’m swearing off ABC forever.

OK ABC I am getting ready to throw my TV out the window. EVERY TIME, and I mean EVERY TIME you put on a show I love, you jerk it around, give it bad time slots, then cancel it. Pushing Daisies is absolutely the BEST show on television. It is original, well acted, amazingly art directed, well written and a sheer joy to behold. Give it a chance to get its viewership back up. The airwaves DO NOT need another gory crime drama or insipid doctor show. Keep something on the air for grown-up, educated people to watch–especially since we will be the only ones with money to spend in the current recession. Perhaps your darling 18-yr-old demographic won’t be so desirable in the near future.

Pushing Daisies is the only show I’m watching these days… If it gets cancelled, I will take my Arrested Development DVDs, season 1 and downloaded episodes of season 2 of Pushing Daisies and forsake network television altogether.
Why can’t there be quality storytelling on TV anymore? Is America so dull?

if nothing else, I like DSM and want to see more of it. Problem is, it isnt as promoted and whored out like the other ABC shows, although it’s easily one of the network’s best.

I have to say, I gave Pushing Daisies a chance and it just was too “cutesy” and the like for me. I respect everyone who loves it and hope for your sake it isn’t canceled, but I can understand why it isn’t a mainstream hit. I think it might have done better on USA, with its “characters welcome” philosophy and lower ratings expectations.
Good luck to all of you who watch it. I know how awful it is to adore a quality show but have to constantly worry about when the axe will drop because of poor ratings. (R.I.P. Sports Night, Karen Sisco, etc.)

Out of the shows mentioned, Daisies must be one of the most creative shows on TV right now. Why is it shows that push the norm and dare to try something new (such as Daisies and Swingtown) are always so quickly discarded?

I love both “Bones” and “Pushing Daisies,” and I think the reason “Pushing Daisies” hasn’t done well in the ratings this season is because the brainiacs over at ABC put it on at the same time as a very well-established show that’s already got a really strong following. Because Fox is less reliable about putting their shows online (i.e., “House” is put online EIGHT days after the episodes air – what is that about?), I feel compelled to watch “Bones” when it’s on and catch “Pushing Daisies” online the following day. At least “Bones” is taking a break for new episodes until November, so maybe that’ll help give “Pushing Daisies” a boost.
