I was thinking the other day: Brad Pitt, Leo DiCaprio, George Clooney- these are hot ass actors who aren't afraid to take actual challenging roles. But McConaughey, the hottest of them all, takes dumbed-down roles time and time again. He can act (see Frailty, A Time to Kill, Contact), but he seems as of late to be afraid to take any role that belies his lovable hunk status. I for one will watch him in about anything just for the eye candy, but I readily admit its a pretty dismal way for such a talented actor to spend a film career.
