Ok, just to summarize what I've already said "YAY SUMMIT, BOO WARNER BROS".

Okay, I have to admit that I never read anything about Vampires until Twilight-I'm more of a "Magic" person. But because I loved Twilight so much, I decided to give another Vampire series a go-and I picked up The Vampire Diaries. I have to say that it was freaking AWESOME!!! Different than Twilight, sure-but I was expecting that anyway. I just finished the series last night and I seriously LOVE these books. I got so involved in the story that something that happened in one of the books made me throw it across the room in anger. Not many books can have that effect on me. So-I recommend it. I'm even more excited that L J Smith (author) is releasing more books that have to do with this series. :)
Just a suggestion to Twilight fans that are looking for other stuff to read... :)

Really enjoyed the entire Twilight series! Looking forward to the movie and I am thrilled it's coming earlier. And no, I'm not a teen! There really is no comparison with Twilight and Harry Potter. They are 2 totally different subject matters. Twilight is a romance and probably geared to a more mature audience even though younger teens have read the book. Just read Breaking Dawn and you'll realize it was not intended for 11 year olds - which is why some have trashed it even though it is an excellent book that allows the characters to mature and move past high school. Whatever the reason for Harry Potter moving the date, both movies will do exceptionally well at the box office.

Sorry to be picky but someone said the 5th HP film came out in April 2006 when actually it was July 2006..... I was working in a cinema and counting down the days until I got to see it :p

I am dissapointed about them moving the Harry Potter film around but at least it means there won't be so quite so much comparing of the two films. Everyone was making such a fuss about the two of them coming out within a couple of months of each other and at least this releases some pressure, from both films which I am sure will both be good in their own rights.

First, I'd like to say that I am happy about this change. Well, as happy as I can get considering I was REALLY looking foward to Potter (thanks a lot WB, tick off your already upset fanbase); but I love Twilight just as much so it makes me happy. Second, I have this to say to EW: Stop refering Twilight as a 'tween' fandom! I personally know close to 10 Twilight fans (that does not include the online community) and not one of them is a 'TwilightTeen'. The fans I know range from a 'TwilightTwentySomething' to 'TwilightMom' (there is even a 'TwilightGrandma'). I'm not saying that there aren't the 'tweens', but anybody who has read Breaking Dawn would realize that this series grew along with it's audience. I like the fact that the Twilight Saga has such a large fanbase, but suggesting that this is a 'tween' fandom alienates others.

I am so pissed off that they have set back the premier of Harry Potter to next summer. Harry Potter 5 was released April 2006, and it will now be over 3 years between movies when it was meant to be one a year and the actors were supposed to age with their character counterparts. This is a load of crap, Harry Potter 7 will end up featuring old and decrepid stars at this rate.

I would like Warner Bros or whichever retard came up with this bright idea that I will most definitely not go to see Twilight and I will make it my mission that everyone I know does not see it either.

I've read the "Twilight" books because my daughter loves them, and I wanted to be able to share that. But as an adult, I have to say that they're pretty facile, "happily ever after" with the heroine getting herself into all kinds of problems that the big, strong hero(es) have to come and rescue her from. Not exactly emancipated. The character development and the "world" created by Stephanie Meyer don't begin to compare with the Harry Potter world in depth, complexity, or philosophical value. I'm glad "Twilight" has gotten a lot of people reading - but it's not Harry Potter by a LONG stretch.

THey are both incredible series!!We don't have to fight over which one is better.That's all I have to say.I better "am scray" before I get a butt whoopin'.

OH MY FREAKIN HECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so flippin awesome that Twilight is moved up to Nov. I can't wait for it. I swear I'm like about ready to hop inside a freakin stang or a corvett and just freakin head on out of Utah and go see all the characters and the set up. But Harry Potter,I think I could wait for it. I don't know about all the rest of the amazing Twilighters and cool HP fans, but I am goin nuts over Twilight and I can't wait to see how well they did with the movie. Seriously, I have Twilight, like, all over in my room and locker and books at school, I dead serious!!! My little bros. are the HP fans. Honestly, they drive me absolutely bonkers with it. One of them is such a big fan that he and his friends renamed themselves with the Harry Potter characters, literally. My brother is Ron, his best friend is Harry,his so-called girlfriend is(of course)Hermione,etc.,etc.,etc. And(of course,and obviously), I am the ultimate Twilighter(in Fairview,Utah anway). I've read both series and am in my 30's...Shasta I LOVE them both. Not just young girls reading it. It doesn't replace Harry Potter - but stands equal and well on its own.

Please. Judging from my commute on the L everyday, just about everyone reads a Harry Potter book at some time or another. These are professional adults. Dudes and chicks. I have never seen anyone with a Twilight book, because I do not ride a SCHOOL BUS. Harry Potter appealed to both males and females. Seems like the vast majority of Twilight fans are chicks. Oak Park, IL had a big HP Book 7 release festival which brought out old, young, various races, men and women, boys and girls. People in costume, a church giving tours as Azkaban, a bank giving tours as Gringott's. Not dissing Twilight, but stop comparing it to HP just cuz it sells lots of books.

twlight is so much better than gay harry potter. it has so much more potential. but i really hope she makes movies about all her books!
