From what I've seen, Johnny Depp will star in Alice in Wonderland. I've seen a picture of him dressed up as the Mad Hatter. He looks awesome! He looks even better than he did in Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate factory. With all the colorful makeup and the purple clothing, He has to be in there.

from what i've read and heard this movie's screenplay and characters is actually based on a book called "the looking glass wars" 2nd book is "seeing red" and a 3rd book called "M Hatter" and these books are a brilliantly written adaptation of Alice and Wonderland. Its a really good series and i read it almost 1 1/2 to 2 yrs ago and heard they were planning on making a movie on it and CANT WAIT to see how it turns out. Also if any of you read the books you'll see WHY johnny depp is PERFECT to play the mad hatter and why Tim Burton is PERFECT to direct it!!!

I saw a picture of him in his Hatter costume online, and it may be the ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. Being a HUGE Alice fan, I'm pretty let down. I think this movie should be claymation like The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now THAT would be awesome.

I figured as soon as the movie was announced. it seemed like a given that depp would be casted. i mean i'm a fan! a HUGE fan. i've seen even the most obscure of depp's films. but i would've just liked someone a little bit more unexpected. like how christopher nolan always casts things so oddly but so correctly! but tim burtons cast for sweeney todd was spot on so i trust him. i'd love to see tim curry as the cheshire cat.

Alice in Wonderland is a children's novel. Carroll wrote it for his young nieces.

I too am a little tired of Depp showing up in all of Tim Burton's movies. I think he's a great actor but Burton needs to branch out a little more. I suppose in a few days we'll be hearing that Helena Bonham Carter has been cast as the Queen of Hearts.

No matter how old Johnny gets he will always be incredibly beautiful and talented. Those cheekbones are too die for! And his talent is amazing, i personally have loved all of Tim and Johnny's collaborations. The only one I am not fond of is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But Sweeney Todd was really well done by Tim and Johnny
