For those Beverly Hills, 90210 fans out there who were crushed by recent online reports that Tori Spelling will not be appearing on The CW’s new 90210 reboot this fall, take heart — Jennie Garth feels your pain. The star, who will reprise her role as Kelly Taylor on 90210 this fall, tells EW.com that she was disappointed by online reports that Spelling dropped out of The CW series after not being offered the same amount of money as Garth and fellow former co-star Shannen Doherty. “[The press thinks] we’re at war over salary with Tori. I didn’t know I was at war with Tori,” Garth told EW.com. “I’m really bummed because I love Tori and I was psyched Tori was going to be on the show. I think she should definitely get paid as much as either of us is getting paid. Her father created the show. It just seems wrong if that’s the case. I don’t know what really happened because I haven’t talked to her. I would like to talk to her.” Doherty adds that she isn’t taking the deadlinehollywooddaily.com report about Spelling’s salary dispute — which claimed Garth and Doherty were being paid “$35,000-$50,000” per episode versus Spelling’s proposed salary of “$10,000-$20,000” per episode — at face value. “They didn’t even get the numbers right,” says the actress, who will reprise her role as Brenda Walsh on The CW’s drama, “so I don’t know if it’s about the money either.” Whatever the case, Garth hopes the door isn’t closed on Donna Martin’s return: “I’ll try to butt my head in whenever I can and tell people what I think about it.” When asked for a comment about Spelling’s discussions with the network, a CW spokesman said simply, “The CW has no deal with Tori Spelling to appear on 90210 at this time.” (Reporting by Jessica Shaw)

Gotta love Shannen “They didn’t even get the numbers right”. LOL. Glad she’s returning. She’s the shot of drama that this bland looking soap needs.

Jennie is right. Tori’s father created the 90210 franchise and its insulting that she wouldn’t be offered the same amount of money.

It’s only insulting until you realize that Tori cannot, has not and will probably never be able to do something very important for a TV show:
“Act”. After you take that into account, then even offering her $10,000 an episode is kinda silly.

Whether her father created the show or not is irrelevant – that does not entitle Tori to anything at all. The show will offer her what they feel she is worth to the show. Judging from the acting she put into the first 90210, I think offering her less would be more than fair.

the truth its probably just the cw trying to get press before the premiere, the show is only weeks away, they are playing you for fools with this fake drama

Tori should be given more or less the same amount of money. It would be nice to have the 3 girls back on show..

  • pop-off!

no body cares if tori or jennie is on the show, tori needs all the work she can get, she is a joke. people are going to watch for shannon,

Let’s face it, Jennie and Shannon are way better actresses than Tori which is probably why they low balled her. But on the flip side, she stayed with the show and everyone loved Donna Martin! I think she should be paid equal based on her history with the show.

  • Kalli

Hmmm, On second thought…Shannon/Brenda was always a drama queen…always entertaining. She should be paid the most! :)

  • Sofie

Am I the only one who fast-forwarded thru all of the Donna & David scenes?

  • Till

This show became interesting to watch the minute Shannen Doherty came up. All other “stars” from the original are needless (Donna… ah ah ah!)

  • Eric

We MUST have scenes featuring the show’s two biggest drama queens: Shannon Doherty and Jessica Walter!! MAKE THIS HAPPEN, CW!
Shannon’s now a director, Jessica is the “fading film star”….a match made in drama heaven!

    DONNA MARTIN GRADUATES!!

People… is not Shannon, is ShannEn…. and is true, she should get paid the most!. Till u are to right!

FORGET the younger stars. You’ve got Shannen Doherty. You’ve got Jennie Garth. The show should be called BRENDA & KELLY and be all about them, their contentious relationship, and feature a lot of cat fights in fountains, mansions, and at charity balls. Please Aaron in Heaven MAKE IT HAPPEN.

It doesn’t seem right they were planning to pay Tori less, unless Donna Martin’s character was going to have less of a story line. It’s not like any of the first group were great actors! Seems like they should all be kind of in the same catergory.

Tori got screwed!! Yeah, maybe back in season 1 Donna was a supporting character to Kelly and Brenda’s Lead characters. But Brenda (Doherty) left the show after only 4 seasons, while Donna (Spelling) stayed for all 10 seasons. By the time the show ended, Tori was definately a lead character on the show. First Tori gets screwed over by her mother and her dad’s will and now this!! Love ya Tori!!

Bye Tory .. Whenever the show was Brando and Brenda and your only was there by your last name … Your father should feel shame for what this where you’re mature unprofessional

Thats sad, that show was a Great hit. And Jennie & Tori were the only reason to watch. Tori role was the good things between all the others fighting.Just because her dad was rich, and she was raised w/ money- Never did she expect Everything. They gave her every thing because they were TOO BUSY to be parents. Then their upset with how they raised her. Too Bad, she’s the only normal thing in that family. Her family issues are her MOTHERS fault. Mothers are not supposta be “jealous” of your own child. I think her “so called” “mother” got PREG. and used TORI as a CASHCOW! Because she didnt/doesnt seem to love her.No matter what the WILL said, if that “Mother” honored her husbands LOVE, he would never want Tori & his grandchildren to stuggle. NO CLASS AT ALL !!!

  • Liver

shut up. Tori is butt-ass ugly! She only got the part because of her Dad! otherwise, she wouldn’t of been known of!
    ha

I wish that Luke Perry would return to the show!!! I hope that Tori also returns I think it would be neat to have to whole group back!

I enjoyed seeing this “Reboot” “90210,” having seen the first episode of the original. Yes, I was mainly wanting to see Jennie and Shannon even if their parts are somewhat limited on-screen, it was good to see them. What I wonder is, who’s the Daddy – of Kelly’s little one? (Or did I miss that part?) That will be some storyline there . . . (or should be).
One thing to consider, is that it is one thing if the “old characters” float through in guest spots, but trying to reunite the “old” gang isn’t what the new show is really about.
