Are you serious? If you were educated at all in the literary arts you would know that ALL “beloved children’s classics” such as Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella (Auchenpettel), Snow White, sleeping Beauty all were written in Pagan times by the Brother’s Grimm and were ORIGIONALLY “dark and scary”. These stories are the BEST of human imagination!! ART at its BEST! Children should be interested in these origional stories in stead of BARNEY or HANNA MONTANA!

Johnny Depp is a great actor! The parts he plays are always different, kinda like Jack Nicholson. I have loved every movie he has been in! Tim Burton and Johnny’s movies are always extrem, hold on to your seat movies. I hope they will be working together for a long time as you never know what they will do next!

Most Disney stories are dark and disturbing even as cartoon. Think about it wicked step sisters, wicked witches, and so on and so on…only now instead of seeing them in 2D we get to see it in 3D.

okay…let me just say the story was “dark” to begin with from the time alice went down the hole…and i saw a pic of johnny as the mad hatter. once again he transforms himself into a character that is completely different from all the rest and its going to be brilliant.

From what I’ve seen, Johnny Depp will star in Alice in Wonderland. I’ve seen a picture of him dressed up as the Mad Hatter. He looks awesome! He looks even better than he did in Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate factory. With all the colorful makeup and the purple clothing, He has to be in there.

from what i’ve read and heard this movie’s screenplay and characters is actually based on a book called “the looking glass wars” 2nd book is “seeing red” and a 3rd book called “M Hatter” and these books are a brilliantly written adaptation of Alice and Wonderland. Its a really good series and i read it almost 1 1/2 to 2 yrs ago and heard they were planning on making a movie on it and CANT WAIT to see how it turns out. Also if any of you read the books you’ll see WHY johnny depp is PERFECT to play the mad hatter and why Tim Burton is PERFECT to direct it!!!

for the people who are let down on how johnny looks as the madhatter its supposed to be burtons twisted little dark version of alice in wonderland which will make it the complete opposite of the disney version. tim burton is a genius and this piece of work of his is very creative and exciting
