'Grey's Anatomy' alum Elizabeth Reaser defends her 'Ex List' character

Is she a slut? That was the question on the mind of some in the audience as Grey's Anatomy alum Elizabeth Reaser introduced her new character at CBS' TCA Press Tour presentation on Friday. Reaser stars in the freshman fall dramedy The Ex List, in which she plays a woman, Bella Bloom, who goes through her list of ex-boyfriends to find husband. (See, a psychic tells Bella that if she doesn't get married this year, she'll never get hitched — except that she's also told that she has already met, and been romantically involved with, her future hubby.) The older and more prudish reporters in the crowd were quick to call Bella a slut, because of her rather large (and always seemingly growing) list of exes. But Reaser refused to give any ground. "What is a slut?" she asked, forcefully. "Who's to say? How does one define that? It's relative."

The show's exec producer Diane Ruggiero took the chance to explain the whole premise a bit more. "It's not just people [Bella] dated, but also people she's been romantically involved with, which gets defined in the pilot," Ruggiero said. "It could be the kid she passed notes with in the sixth grade, but they never did it. But if they did, that wouldn't make her a slut."

I'm SO sad this show is done. I LOVED it and looked forward to it every week when it was on. It was clever, funny, entertaining.....much better than a lot of the shows that are still on Tv.

I am really bummed they took this show off the Air. it was a good show and i looked forward to it after a long week at work. I was actually enjoying staying home on a Friday night just to watch the show. I hope they put it back on maybe even on another night?? i want to know you she gets married to :)

Anyone who was sad to see the show go (as I was)...please go to CBS.com and fill out the user feedback form...maybe we can get it back...but only if we write them enough!

i loved the ex list, it was really good, but it would have been obvious who was 'the one' coz she doesn't find him until the end meaning after they meet, the whole story ends. but it was still good... so sad that it went off the air...

I looked Forward to Watching The Ex's List this past Friday and it was not on. I went to look it up on the Internet and found it was taken off the air. Friday night does not have a good line up of show & they made a mistake by taking The Ex List Off The air.

I would like to add something, though. I get the feeling that if this show were about a man searching for the one through his many exes, the work "slut" would never have come up.

I'm not impressed with the commericals I've seen for this show. It doesn't look that interesting. (and it's only partially because I'm still mad about "Moonlight.")

I think the plot sounds good. While dating may mean sex for some, it doesn't for others. Dating a lot of people doesn't mean you're a slut. That's an absurdly illogical conclusion.

Um, if a sixth grader is having sex, there is a problem. Pretty soon all these Hollywood people will be saying that if a 4th grader chooses to have sex, then thats okay.

I'm a fan. I like her.

As long as she never comes back to Grey's again, I. don't. care.
