This only reinforces the meager support Fox gave to Bernie Mac’s last efforts on their network. His sitcom was unconventional yet hilarious and brutally honest, which is something I can’t say for most UPN/CW black comedies (and in a lesser extent, ABC’s My Wife and Kids). Fox moving it to a different time slot each year didn’t help ratings either. No wonder it died off after it officially hit its syndication mark; on Friday nights with the equally atypical Malcolm in the Middle, no less (meanwhile, the horribly derivative War at Home gets a better Sunday time slot).
Bernie deserves better than Fox.

YAY BERNIE MAC!! I was disappointed to hear that his sitcom didn’t get picked up. The premise sounded promising… Glad to see it might get another chance!
