Oldchristinejulia_l CBS is expected to announce tomorrow that it has ordered 22 more episodes of The New Adventures of Old Christine, the two-year-old comedy that's already netted star Julia Louis-Dreyfus (pictured) an Emmy, according to a key insider. There was some speculation that CBS would pass on the show, which skews older than its other comedies like How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory. As a result, rumors were rampant that ABC was prepared to pick up the sitcom, should CBS balk at another season. CBS will unveil its fall schedule Wednesday in New York City.

Christine is a funny show, and I usually hate sitcoms. Glad to see another season was green lighted.

This show is absolutely funlarious! I regularly laugh out loud while watching it. She has the innate ability to make you incredibly uncomfortable and sympathetic to her awkwardness at the same time. Yeah to Christine's return!!

PLEASE, CBS, schedule CHRISTINE in a decent slot and let it stay long enough to develop an audience! I agree that the network has a very poor track record in regards to nurturing quality shows.

It's the only CBS series which has gotten ANY award recognition in the past two years so maybe that's why they renewed it. They dont want to risk getting completely shut out again at the Emmys, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards. It would have been a better fit at ABC where it would have been promoted and likely paired with the similarly clever "Samantha Who".

Keep in mind, ABC's "big" comedy anchor is "According to Jim". So it's not surprising a Disney-owned network would pick up a Touchstone Pictures show or two.

i hear that abc was prepared to give it a full season order which forced cbs to do more than just 13 episodes. I'm very happy that it is renewed for a full year, my fear is that CBS will treat it not as well as ABC would have -- where I think it would have been a HUGE hit, especially if they gave the samantha who slot, which probably what cbs was afraid of. Rules and mother were also renewed.

Well, I'm glad a quality show like this is going to remain on the air, but I'm kinda disappointed that CBS is going to get to keep this show when they've treated it like crap, despite it being the best sitcom the network has and it gets just as good of ratings if not better than the others.

Awesome! This show is funny as hell. It makes a great lineup with Big bang and HIMYM, which better be renewed as well.
