Pink slips were handed out today to CBS dramas Shark and Moonlight. Shark, which starred James Woods as a prosecutor, was averaging 10.3 million viewers, while Moonlight, the sexy vampire series, only attracted 7.5 million this season. CBS will officially announce its schedule Wednesday in New York City.

I beleive that CBS has made a mistake for cancelling "Shark" I really enjoyed watching that show. It gave me a break for the "CSI" which I love the most, but Shark did give the second side of after the "CSI" have done there job.

CBS is so fickle... the cancel Christin Slater's drama, (Will I ever see Tayler between now and New Moon again? (not counting Twilight)*groan*), plus, I was looking for Moonlight last year, but I never knew when it was on... TV is getting so unreliable; I think I'll start watching movies more often. Of course, my homework is piling up now (cursed senior slide, it can't wait, can it?)

This was really a big mistake on the part of CBS. I normally would not watch a show of this nature, but the writing and how the subject matter was presented gave a whole new twist on the 'vampire' phenomenon. I hope someone lost their job over this, because it's time we hold on to quality television and stop trying dumb down the American audience with trash like the O.C. and all these so-called 'reality' trash shows.

With the growing popularity of vampire movies, books, etc., this last few months, you'd think CBS would've promoted Moon Light a little more instead of dumping it. I've worked enough in marketing research to know the powers-that-be at CBS are MORONS! Talk about shredding the winning lottery ticket. CBS has the worst line-up out of all the networks, and with the added loss of Grissom from CSI, I'm finding less and less to watch from them.

Am I imagining things, or wasn't Shark doing quite well ratings-wise, at least initially? I thought for sure I saw it featured in the top twenty, which usually guarantees a slot in the prime time line up. Am I mistaken? Or did it leave the gate with a bang and then collapse?

I am thinking that had CBS not cancelled Moonlight, then some younger audiance that are currently raving over the whole "vampire" thing (Twilight), might have tuned in... I have a tendancy to not watch CBS anymore because they are so fickle with their programs that more than 50% of the time, they don't give shows chance to prove themselves, or put good shows up against other shows where it will have no chance to survive (whereas in its original spot it was doing well).

So Shark got cancelled, huh? Figures since it's one of the few shows I liked. Who at CBS actually had the audacity to say that 'Christine' and 'The Ex-List' were better than 'Shark'? I like the Unit but it tends to repeat plots so it's not a favorite. Oh well, with the Sheild about to end after this season, guess I better stock up on my movies.

Actually after reading other comments. CBS please read this... please stop reality tv. It's a lot of crap. Does no one have any creativity or imagination to think of scripts for a programme. Are all of you too rich that you can't be bothered to use your brain? Moonlight was great. It may have lower numbers of viewers than reality tv but given the chance it would have thrive considering there was an element of romance. Take a look at prison break, it worked well not only because wentworth miller is a babe but that there was that sense of romance, hope, strength etc. i love the narrative element of Moonlight. It allows you to have personal connection with the character. I really can't believe it's been cancelled. CBS, you SUCK!

Moonlight made it all the way to New Zealand. I got hooked on watching Moonlight about a month ago whilst staying up late waiting for husband to come home. Without knowing till now (as in today 11/12/2008 @ 11.30pm) that I have just watched the final episode ever made. Just when they finally declared their love for each other. Ahhhhh.... I can't believe it! Somebody please bring Moonlight back. It was awesome.

i hope this gets to cbs. am so disgusted with all the reality shows. i have waited for shark and moonlight to come back on only to realize some moron has cancelled them. when the air waves go all digital in february i will not worry about not getting your station because you now have nothing on it i wish to watch. you are making one of your worst mistakes ever by not showing these shows. get rid of the reality shows and bring back these much more interesting ones.
