FX's 'Damages,' 'Rescue Me' return in 2009 -- at earliest

Categories: TV Biz

Close_lThe 100-day writers’ strike is becoming a distant nightmare, but not every network has fully recovered. FX, for instance, has yet to announce return dates for summer mainstays Rescue Me and Damages. Nor has it decided whether to order third seasons of The Riches and Dirt, both of which just finished poorly-rated seasons. "It’s a combination of the strike having us scrambling, and trying to figure out what shows are compatible where," says FX President John Landgraf. He predicts a January return (at the earliest) for Damages, which stars Glenn Close (pictured), and a spring berth for Rescue Me. Now for the good news: Fans of the Denis Leary firefighter series can get a fix this summer by watching 10 five-minute original "minisodes" in the show’s usual summer slot. And The Shield returns for its final season Sept. 2.

Damages is the best show. Please bring it back before I start to remember how terrible Rose Byrne is and refuse to watch it!

  • Bobbi

ABC cancels half of what I watch and now no Damages this year. I think I’ll put my TVs on ebay and forget about it.

  • bob

I hope they leave Dirt on. Its a guilty pleasure of mine.

So we have 3 out 20 Top 20 Songwriting Finalist on Clay Aiken CD’s. We also have the winner of this year and the winner of last years songwriting contest are good friends and co-
writers on several songs. You get better odds of getting struck by lightning while buying a winning lottery ticket. What you see above is just the tip of the iceburg, and only deals with
this years contest, last year’s contest is even worse. (10 of the 2007 Top 20 Finalist had working relationships with Judge Paula Abdul, Judge Randy Jackson, Host Ryan Seacreast,
Bandleader Rickey Minor, Idol Producer Clive Davis, American Idol, Fox Television …… IF someone will only check out my webpage you would find everything I’m saying has links
to prove it. Please do something about this. Thank you, Simon

Not going to lie, I was really hoping Damages would come back this summer, because I get cheap cable at school and it doesn’t include FX. I guess I will be making friends with someone with cable.

NO DAMAGES TILL 2009?? Ther’s nothing worth watching since it left FX

  • fan

FX has to bring Damages back. It was the best thing ever on TV. I wouldn’t have felt gyped if I paid $9 a week and saw each episode at the movies. Not enough people even knew it was on TV. Get the DVD of 1st season at Best Buy and pass it along to fiends/family.

Damages was my number one television series of 2008. Glenn Close was BAD!!! I looked forward to watching the show every week and I can’t wait to watch the new season.

  • Darla

I hope they have a Season 1 marathon.

Thank you so much…a friend of mine told me Damages was not going to be renewed. I am so thrilled, I absolutely could not wait for the next episode. Was so disappointed that no one else that I worked w/ watched it. It was the best show I have ever seen, each episode was movie quality with the acting (Glenn Close), and the script. I thought I was reading a mystery/suspense novel and just couldn’t put it down.

I sincerely hope that you do not cancel ‘The Riches’. I love the characters of the show and was looking forward to another season. I hope you give it more time to catch on. I love the characters. I am surprised it did not do better in the ratings.

  • Cheri Koenig

  • pam

So very happy to hear Damages is returning. Was very bummed when it did not come on in the summer. It is an extremely thrilling show. Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. What a great cast. Glenn Close and Ted Danson were AWESOME. The show can’t come soon enough for me!!
