'Project Runway' designer watch: Jack Mackenroth won't be back

Categories: TV Biz

After ducking out of season 4 to recover from a staph infection, designer Jack Mackenroth has announced that he won’t return to audition for season 5 of Project Runway on Bravo. In his statement released today, Mackenroth thanked the HIV community for supporting him and said he hopes “that I have shown you that it is possible to live successfully with HIV.”

“Though I loved my experience on the show and hope to continue working with Bravo in the future, I really feel that it’s time to start the next chapter of my life,” he added.

Season 5 of Project Runway will debut on Bravo in June. The series moves to Lifetime in season 6.

I would have like to have seen what he could do. I liked some of his stuff before he had to leave the show.

Maybe we’ll still get to see what he can do even if it’s not on Project Runway. He did say he still wants to work with Bravo.
    His own show maybe..?

I love JACK. I am devastated to hear that he will not be back for Season 5, I would have loved to see more of his designs. I wish him all the luck in the future and hope to see more of him soon!
As for Project Runway moving to Lifetime for Season 6… what’s up with that? How could Bravo give up it’s baby?
