J.J. Abrams’ Fringe — the only other high-profile drama in development this season besides the CW’s 90210 — will debut on Tuesdays this fall, while Joss Whedon’s much-anticipated series Dollhouse and another season of 24 will be held back until midseason. Fox, which announced today in New York City that it’ll kick off the new season on Aug. 25, will air Fringe — a drama about special agents who investigate strange phenomena — behind another season of House on on Tuesdays.

A block of comedies will air on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. behind Bones, including a revamped season of ‘Til Death (costars Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster are out) and Do Not Disturb, a new multi-camera comedy about a hip New York hotel starring Jerry O’Connell. The latter show replaces the expensive and ratings-starved Back to You, which got the ax earlier this month.

Are they getting rid of Bones mid-season???

Its “I” before “E”: Kiefer; sad to see “Back to You” go to the wayside. It was a neat show.

I read elsewhere that the Idols results show would be cut back to 30 minutes. That’s still 25 minutes too long.

I have to wait until January for Dollhouse??? FOX, you officially suck! (To others…yes I know that they’ve cancelled a lot of good stuff, but pushing a Joss Whedon show to be a mid-season replacement is just full o’ crap)

Bones is being moved to Fridays in January.

Bones is about special agents who investigate phenomena? Hasn’t J.J. stolen enough from the X-files with Lost????

WHY WOULD THEY PUT BONES ON FRIDAY IN JANUARY? DO THEY WANT TO KILL IT???? It does well with House or American Idol!! Friday is a death-trap for Fox!!!! WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?

I would have liked a revamped Back to You and keep Til Death the same. If Back to You would have focused on the workplace and put the daughter on the backburner, it would have been better. Overall, a very funny show with great casting.

has anyone heard if there taking bones off the air?

  • Stef

They’re not taking Bones off the air, it’s doing some kind of mid-season move to the graveyard known as Friday Night, according to the info in the PopWatch Blog section.
