We still don’t know what exactly Gossip Girl’s Serena (Blake Lively) and Georgina (Michelle Trachtenburg) did that drove them to leave New York, but EW.com can exclusively reveal that The CW’s hit will return for season 2 on Monday, Sept. 1. Look for that first episode to feature cast members OMG-ing and LOL-ing in the Hamptons. The CW will offiically announce their schedule in New York during next week’s Upfront presentations.

So, CW, when will Season Four of “Veronica Mars” be announced? That’s the only way I’ll watch anything on the CW again!

  • good lord

well, i’m sure the cw is reeling in disappointment you won’t be watching. get over it, its business, not charity. life goes on. that show was over rated anyway

  • Vance

How much is Entertainment Weekly getting paid to keep pretending that this is a hot show?
It came back from hiatus and was easily one of the lowest-rated shows on television… it’s certainly the lowest-rated show on television to get any ink from the press.
This show is not a big deal. No one is watching it and real people don’t care about it. It’s not even a good show to begin with, which makes this abundance of press across the board seem very suspicious (and annoyingly undeserved).

    OMFG!!! I am so excited!

This looks like a porn cover.

Every morning I have to drive by the OMFG sign near the Warner Bros. Studios and it is an eyesore. Now that they have a season 2, I guess I have to gird my loins for more optical b–l s–t from the WB marketing department. Oy vey!

  • Arggg

And people wonder why AIDS, STD’s, divorce and just plain old stupidity run rampant today. Here’s why.

  • Marcus

Question: For the people who knock this show, have you ever even watched it? I’m pretty sure that most people–in my experience–who hate on the show have never watched a single minute. We all have our tastes…get over it.
As for the accusation that “no one is watching,” think outside the box. The show is always the number one seller on iTunes come Wednesday morning and before the CW made the dumbass move of pulling the show from online, it did well in that venue as well. Viewers of this show aren’t normal TV watchers. They get their TV from non-traditional sources.

I have watched the show from the start and think it is genius for what it is. This is a show aboung the lives and dramas of rich and beautiful young people. It is smartly written, very funny and with great cast. What more could you wish for?
The fact that it doesn’t have high ratings doesn’t mean a thing. Some of the best show on TV have low ratings.
It’s like saying that only good shows have the highest audience – well in that case go watch Two and a half men or something. It sure has high ratings.

  • DC

Gossip Girl has actually turned into a really good show for what it is. I think it’s actually up to the same level The OC was at its prime (which was really good).
If you didn’t like The OC or shows of this genre in generally, GG is probably horrible to you :) But to me, pretty good!

  • JJ

We do know why S and G fled — evidently Serena killed someone

  • Shannon

In the episode that aired this past Monday, Serena reveals to Blair her secret and was hesitant at first because she said Blair would then be a part of it… Serena killed someone, so we do know what the secret it.

  • Elmely

Are you guys kidding me.Please you dont have any idea how good that show is.It has a beautiful cast great lines a f-ing awesome story line that keeps you guessing.Screw the ratings this show takes it home!

  • angela

I’ve never watched this show, and I don’t have anything against it, however I take real issue with their advertising — ‘OMFG’? If it means what I’m guessing it means….I work with middle and high school age students, and it really bothers me that a tv network is putting their stamp of approval on language that I believe is inappropriate to such a young and influential crowd….it’s hard enough for kids to grow up these days w/out Hollywood lowering the bar.

  • DUH

Time Warner owns EW and Co-owns “The CW”, they can pimp GOSSIP GIRL all they want. We all know this show is a huge flop and will make the network bankrupt. The Truth Hurts!

  • kiki

The show is great. Don’t judge a poster of teens having sex for the whole premise of the show.

  • GingerCat

EW covers this show because it’s good. Whether it’s popular isn’t the point if the material is good. If EW focused on what was popular, they’d have to write about “Deal or No Deal” every week, and who wants to see that?

  • Hey angela

Exactly right! More rot for young minds.

  • Kris

Everyone who keeps bashing this show has obviously never seen a single episode. Gossip Girls is great, and I never enjoyed a single episode of The OC. The characters, the bitchiness, the writing, it’s amazing! And for those of you who are complaining that the show gives out bad words and morals, please. Kids have already learned all those bad words and learned sex, drugs, and murder from cartoon shows. Get over it. CW- KEEP GOSSIP GIRLS ALIVE!!!!!!!!

  • duh

Just looking at the pic tells me what this show is centered on. I agree with the poster who said it looked like a porn cover.
    Pathetic excuse for ‘entertainment..

  • Anninha

isn’t there a saying that says “don’t judge a book by its cover” mhmm sooo don’t bash the show until you’ve watched it in full. actually you should read all the books first because they’re really good and the show does a good job making the characters come to life. blair does an awesome job and i can’t wait for season 2. oh and i can’t stand georgina and i’m so angry she is going to be in season 2

  • Serena Woodrose

I totally love gossip girl!I’m sooo excited for season 2 to come out

  • Serena

    Nate and Serena…gogogo!make it forever,both of you!come on.. gossip girl~ rockx!! ^^

  • michelle

amazing show. cant wait for season 2. its going to have a lot of shockers! georgina as a character will just add to the drama.

  • Sammy

My question is who is Blair going to get with. I mean, I’ve read all the books and seeing as how the TV Show just BARELY follows the books…I’m stumped :(

  • Sammy

And people who look down on this show can go to hell, because it’s so intriguing and it doesn’t show the regular, petty bull that (for some reason) people love in the OC and the old Laguna Beach. It’s original, zesty, and entertaining, and if you don’t like it, then why in the world are you on this website about it? No one asked you for your condescending opinion, so, just ignore the show and all will be well.
