Jonah Hill is in early negotiations to costar opposite Shia LaBeouf in Transformers 2 for DreamWorks and Paramount. Hill (Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will provide the comic relief as a sidekick to Shia's Sam Witwicky. (A source tells EW.com that he'll play Sam's college roommate, but DreamWorks won't confirm.) The sequel is set to begin shooting this summer.

I dont know what you geeks are talking about. Michael Bay is directing for a reason. And if the first Transformers sucked so bad, why did it bring in $70,502,384 in the opening weekend? And for people saying that they need to go back to the 80's and have it all about the transformers... Yea, that will be good, if you want it to come straight to Dvd. psh...

J Sun, May 4, 2008 at 01:43 AM EST

Michael Bay needs to quiet trying to appeal to the younger generation and makes these movies for kids who grew up on them...like me. Hehehehe.

Bianca Fri, May 2, 2008 at 07:35 PM EST

ah man ... their gonna make a second? as long as it has still has Megan Fox in it im happy, her character is awesome.

Indigo Fri, May 2, 2008 at 12:09 AM EST

Eh, I don't know. If I start seeing this guy too much I'm gunna get sick of him. And also he's so predictable, though funny, so Judd Apatow's crew's really startin' to bore me. But whatever, as long as it turns out well it'll be fine.

riprob Thu, May 1, 2008 at 06:38 PM EST

This can only help the weak comedy writing in Transformers... but will destroy Jonah Hill's cred as a decent actor from the Apatow Comedy Clan.

Jean Guy Levesque Thu, May 1, 2008 at 01:58 PM EST

I'm sick of seeing his fat ugly face. Get a real actor, someone who can act. Try a European especially from Paris. Vive La France!!!!

tom Thu, May 1, 2008 at 12:30 PM EST

So they added another dork which means they'll add more unbelievably hot chick.

Optimus Thu, May 1, 2008 at 11:47 AM EST

Who cares about the actors? Bring on the Transformers. I want to know who is going to be in this one.

Marty Thu, May 1, 2008 at 08:58 AM EST

Not to be rude, but having someone overweight "fighting" robots doesn't sound like it will work out very well. He's great for comedies, Don't thing action will work very well for him.

John Thu, May 1, 2008 at 06:01 AM EST

Maybe he will comment on Optimus Prime's dick-giving abilities.

Thu, May 1, 2008 at 12:18 AM EST

Cool. Which chipmunk is he going to play agian?

Mareado Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 05:46 PM EST

My fault, didn't know M posted about it

Mareado Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 05:45 PM EST

Or Michael Bay could be spreading a fake rumor? Think about it, he said himself that he's not gonna reveal much about the movie. You never know

transformers Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 04:41 PM EST

Jonah Hill is awesome! He's going to add such a different dynamic to this sequel. I'm more than happy hes thinking about doing this film. He'll only make it better!

jessica Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 04:03 PM EST

if you think anthony anderson can be funny, you obviously have an awful sense of humor. jonah hill is the ritz to anthony anderson's motel 6.

M Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 12:42 PM EST

let's not forget, that michael bay JUST said that false info would be intentionally leaked about transformers 2. i'm not not saying this is false, but its a possibility.

brian Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 11:40 AM EST

and for the ppl that dont like shia lebeouf then stopping watching movies cuase u dont know what ur talking bout he is gonna be the next big star so get used to him

brian Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 11:38 AM EST

they should have got micheal cera he is alot funnier then that fat ass

Matty Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 11:31 AM EST

Wha?! Is that the fat kid that's in all of those comedy movies lately? That's going to make this movie laughable and not be any good! Blah!

jeremy Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 10:55 AM EST

they need to put less humans in it and focus on i dont know transformerms more especially since shia brought the first one down and to add another unfunny kid in there. im having doubts

DINGLE Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 10:53 AM EST

Robotjox was a great robot fightin' flick, and funny fat dude made it only better!

annonymous Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 10:39 AM EST

if only i could be signed to do a movie, because i can act. someday ill get a call, ill just be waiting

Shawn Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 10:14 AM EST

Please NOT Jonah Hill... Shia LaBeouf is already funny. But if they need a 2nd comic character, use Justin Long. He was great in Die Hard 4.

Beau Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 10:13 AM EST

I think Hill will be fine as a sidekick. He has all the acting range required for a Michael Bay movie. While I can see him and LeBouf doing well bouncing things off each other in scenes, I do think Hill's schtick will will be running on fumes soon.

milo Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 09:50 AM EST

This is a perfect example of what was wrong with these movies.

It's a movie about giant robots fighting. It doesn't NEED comic relief, or at least not more than the bare minimum. The main reason the first one sucked was that so much time was spent with unfunny gags and painful attempts at romance.

Obviously Bay can't pull off either, so just DON'T EVEN TRY.

Robots fighting.

Don't bloat the running time with unnecessary nonsense like last time...but it sounds like that's exactly what they're going to do. Can't wait for another crapfest.

Ikbal Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 09:49 AM EST

please! he will screw Transformer with his stupidity and wreck the entire movie!

Pat Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 08:35 AM EST

Great. Just great. Shia was the worst thing about the first one, now throw in one of the most annoying actors working today in the second. Less humans, more robots!

Ceballos Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 08:29 AM EST

Ugh, I have mixed feelings about this.

I think Hill can be funny in small doses ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall"), but I absolutely hated his shrillness in "Superbad"...I wanted to punch him in the face.

Still, if we're going to have an overweight guy providing relief in a "Transformers" movie, I'll give Hill a shot at replacing Anthony Anderson (an actor who CAN be good that was cartoonishly terrible in the first flick).

maxwell19596 Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 08:04 AM EST

On the DVD Director Michael Bay talks about how amazing the sequel will be. They will be able to do so much more with the transformers. Due to advancements in technology.
Jonah Hill will not hurt the second film, he is very funny, and will fit perfectly into the movie. The Transformers sequel is going to be a guaranteed super great film! At least that's what I think, nope it's what I know!!!

EC Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 07:54 AM EST

A sequel was a given, they left it wide open in the first one. Regardless of who's in it, I'll be in line to see it opening day.

C. Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 07:36 AM EST

I thought Shia LaBeouf was hilarious in the first one so I can imagine him paired with Jonah Hill would be hysterical!

no sir Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 07:20 AM EST

no sir

KID Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 07:18 AM EST

This should be good

J. Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 06:09 AM EST

It can't be that bad, can it? Jonah Hill is funny in a sloppy-fat-kid sort of way.

Nico' Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 04:11 AM EST

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees !

B Bell Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 01:17 AM EST
