Original cast member Gary Dourdan to leave 'CSI'

Csi_l Gary Dourdan, the smoldering actor who plays investigator Warrick Brown on CSI, has decided to leave the eight-year-old drama. According to an insider, the decision was a mutual one made by the actor and CBS/Paramount, the studio that produces the procedural drama for CBS. CBS/Paramount would not confirm the date of Dourdan's last episode, though it will likely occur in the next month since the actor's contract expires this season. The insider says there's a chance that Dourdan, one of a handful of African-American men in leading, primetime roles, will reprise his role with occasional guest appearances in coming seasons.

Dourdan's decision to leave the show comes on the heels of Jorja Fox's much ballyhooed departure from the series late last year. The actress told EW then that she would like to return to the series someday, though not in a full-time capacity. Meanwhile, star Billy Petersen just re-upped his CSI deal for one more season, but for a limited amount of episodes so he can do other projects.

VMAX Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 07:17 PM EST

Without Warrick, Sara, and Gil there is no CSI. CBS might as well go off the air.

tracie Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 10:42 PM EST

while i will forever miss warrick i am not so sad to see the character sarah go. i would rather see warrick stay then sarah

c.h. Tue, Nov 4, 2008 at 09:23 PM EST

I am truly going to miss Warwick and Sarah. The "Team" was a family and I enjoyed watching them weekly. I was really saddened to see what happened to Warwick's character. I will miss him deeply. Keep looking hot Gary!

Elizabeth P. Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 02:31 AM EST

I was so very upset to see Gary killed off of the show. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the final episode, but I had a feeling he was not going to 'make it.'

I loved him, not only for his looks but also for the character that he portrayed and how well he did it. He was a piece that completed a puzzle, or a slice of pie that made it whole.

Since then, I have heard rumors as to why this happened, and that too is very discouraging. If the rumors are true, who cares? Celebrities are human.

Now I look at the cast listing to see if he's in the show; but one can only watch reruns so much.

CSI-CSI is my favorite CSI series. PLEASE find a way to bring him back! Hey, come on, it is Hollywood, isn't it?

Thanks and my best to Gary!!!

Marissa Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 04:07 PM EST

Warrick I'm going to miss u. I really wish u would'nt have died. Know how are u suppost to be on C.S.I. if u are died. I think it was kinda dumb how u died should of went in a coma then left C.S.I. at least u could of made guest apperences but not know because aparently your dead so u are unable to come back witch makes me mad by the time u know all of the regenal cast will be gone and replaced. C.S.I. will never be the same without Warrick and Sarah on their full time I will miss them deeply

Rida Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 07:10 AM EST

I still can't believe they killed off Warrick. Now Gary can't even make guest appearances, so I'll never see him on CSI anymore. He was my favourite of the show, not only for his good looks, but also for his acting which was so believable. I hope that Gary finds a good project that shows his acting skills and he can become a more mainsttream actor, so I can see him again. I will miss him in CSI which I will only be watching till Grissom leaves. Then it's goodbeye CSI for me! Don't like Mami and NY version so I'll have to find something else to look at, maybe House and NCIS!

Ardis Amos Tue, Oct 21, 2008 at 04:38 PM EST

I love the show me and my husband. I was hurt to watch when gary died. I was hoping that he would have lived to come back to the show. Why Did He Leave? It is a very good show but please keep the characters that are there. They really make the show.

Debbie Tue, Oct 21, 2008 at 12:41 AM EST

Watching Warrick get shot during last season ending, I knew that was the end. I was hoping I was wrong. I recorded the first episode of the new CSI season as I couldn't bear to watch Warrick die. I waited two weeks before watching. I cried and cried. He will be missed. My pain is not over as I will now have to watch Grissom leave the show. Although he won't die, I'm hoping Grissom will return for a few episodes down the road. However, it will be a sad day. Both Gary and William gone. I wish somehow, Gary death was just a dream. I wish I was dreaming. I have not deleted the episode showing Grissom running toward Warrick and holding him until he takes his last breath.

jess Sat, Oct 18, 2008 at 09:41 PM EST

CBS is goig to lose a lot of viewers as they chip away at the original cast of CSI. Terrible Decisions not to counter offer Gary to sta on!

caroline Fri, Oct 17, 2008 at 04:22 PM EST

I'm sooooo upset with Gary (warrick) what was he thinking, I think they should bring him back.

ajg Fri, Oct 17, 2008 at 04:02 PM EST

It was sad to see that gary dourdan was killed off, it was even worse when jorga fox left because william peterson and her made the show hot as far as relationships. They played the part very well with only a few scenes of affection that it kept me watching the show for future scenes. The whole group is the show and william petersen is tops in my book. He keeps the group together. Sad to see changes in the show. Hope to see very little happen as far as characters.

Chelley Fri, Oct 17, 2008 at 02:02 PM EST

I can not believe they killed off Warrick. If they kill Nick and Grissom - I will be done with CSI - or I just won't watch it every week.

Mary W. Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 04:15 PM EST

I think that it is tragic for the show with the dismissal of Gary Dourdan. My heart hurt as if he were a family member who has passed away. What I liked about the show was how the characters complimented each other. Gary's relationship with Grissom was very impressive to me. I will not be able to continue watching the show, but I hope that the show goes on, it is very enlightening. But, if at all possible, PLEASE BRING GARY BACK!!!

Karen Avorywoskie Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 11:38 AM EST

I hope his departure has nothing to do with his earlier arrest in April for drugs. He seemed to project that he didn't do drugs and with 2 children also. I am disappointed that he was found with drugs though I am wondering how CSI is going to keep their viewers intersted in the show since a major member has left (Gary Dourdan).

ESTELLE Sun, Oct 12, 2008 at 06:54 PM EST

I am so dispointed to see Warrick leave CSI. I sincerely hope his "death" was not real as far as the show is concerned. I would hate to stop watching it. If something is not broke, then don't fix it. This is a great show because of its characters, and the actors who portray them.

carolyn Sun, Oct 12, 2008 at 01:13 PM EST

I saw someone in a hosiptal bed too do you think Gary knew to much on somebody high up and he had to disappear for awhile I hope so. I love Gary and hope that if we keep writing and letting the network know that we want him back

Lois Sat, Oct 11, 2008 at 10:20 PM EST

I loved the character Gary Dourdan played...and so dismayed that I won't be seeing him every week. I have watched every episode and some many times. These characters became like friends to me when I worked over seas and had to be happy with reruns. Now that I'm finally back in the states... Warrick leaves. Next Grissom too?... maybe if they get Bill Pullman....I could still stay tuned!

Lori Sat, Oct 11, 2008 at 07:30 PM EST

It is very bad for CSI when you keep taking out the core cast. I hate to see Warrick gone and with Gil leaving at the end of the season the show is not going to be the same. I really love CSI and big fan. Please don't kill off the whole show!!!!!
I quess I will still have CSI: Miami, which is also a favorite of mine, that is if Horacho Cain is not written off.

Anncarroll Sat, Oct 11, 2008 at 06:36 PM EST

The season opener was an awesome episode! But Warrick was my favorite character, along with Grissom! I hate he was killed off so he CAN'T come back. Gary Dourdan is a fine actor and a hot one at that! I hope to see him on television elsewhere and soon. Like Morgan Freeman, he is too good to not be working.

Jean Ritter Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 10:44 PM EST

I have watched CSI from the beginning and it has been my favorite show. I also enjoy the other CSIs and NCIS. I too hated to see Gary get killed off. He and William Peterson are my favorites, but I really like the others too. Now get rid of all of the so-called reality shows and so-called sit-coms. We are sick of them.

Cliff Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 09:35 PM EST

They really messed up when they killed off Warrick! Katherine and Nick can't hold this show together, they're too different personalities and with Grissom leaving, that totally destroys the genetic make-up of this show entirely. Did this show get boring for the actors, or did the founders and producers of CSI Vegas loose control of the ship? I mean, they used gary's small, and I mean very small drug problem be the scapegoat of reasoning for his departure! This makes me sick! You can't turn on the tv or read a paper without hearing about the new kind of trouble that either Britney, Paris, Lindsey or Amy Winehouse is in lately via drugs or alcohol! Last thursday night was my last night watching csi vegas!

Matilda Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 08:49 PM EST

Please bring Warrick back.
I NEED A WARRICK BROWN FIX!!!

Janie Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 08:12 PM EST

When I watched the season finale in May, I almost fell out of my chair when Warrick was so brutally gunned down. I haven't watched the show from day one, but have been renting dvds of past seasons. I really love the show, and when people start leaving-for whatever reason-you just know it won't be long until ratings go down. I loved the onscreen relationship Grissom and Warrick had, and now with them leaving, I fear one of the best primetime dramas in recent years is doomed. Sigh...

Natalie Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 06:50 PM EST

I have been a loyal CSI fan and I do not know howmuch I will watch the show this season. With William Peterson and Gary Dourdan both leaving I think the show will be missing the chemistry that it once had. I was hoping that the the character of Warrick had not been killed off so his roll could be reprised, but I see that is not possible unless this entire season ends up being a dream (i.e.Dallas). I am very saddened by the loss of these two characters.

Alyssa Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 02:32 PM EST

I really dont think this show will last long with out the two of them. Ive watched this show forever and it just wont be the same. Do you think everyone has thought this threw? Do they just not want to do this show anymore? I dont get it

Evie M Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 02:10 PM EST

I am just "SICK" about Gary leaving CSI! Besides Wm.Peterson, he was one of the only reason I watched the show. I cried & cried. I have watched CSI since the first show.
All the charters feel like family after all these years.Gary will be very much missed.
If Peterson leaves the show I will not watch CSI any longer! I beleive the show will die as well.

Nik E Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 11:40 AM EST

Is it just me or in the previews of last nights' gut wrenching episode, did I see Warrick in a hospital bed? Hmm..... Why was there a closed casket? Hmm... Why didn't they show the autopsy? Hmm... Is Warrick really dead? Hmm.................. We shall see!

Robert Ballard Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 11:29 AM EST

Fans like us who go out and buy all CSI dvds and watch faithfully I have to agree with the others producers dont care about fans You could have givin these actors and actresses more money and praise the show will loose its flavor

Janet Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 11:28 AM EST

I watched the show last night and it broke my heart. I do not think I will watch it after Grissom leaves. He and Warrick were the reason I watched in the first place.

SHERILAN Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 11:20 AM EST

THE SHOW WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT GARY.I REALLY DONT THINK I'LL BE WATCHING ANYMORE.YOU ALL MESSED UP A GOOD THING.

monique Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 10:59 AM EST

I'm truly going to miss Warrick on the show. Enough said

Brenda Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 09:28 AM EST

I guess you're going to have to do a "dallas" thing, when Bobby died and it turned out to be a dream!!
You really "need" to bring Gary AKA Warrick back. The show is losing its integrity. There really isn't too much to watch on TV these days. The characters, with all their human flaws made the show!!
PLEASE stop getting rid of the "only" good shows!! Life is messed up enough without taking "some" kind of entertainment off the TV. I guess I'm going to have to just buy movies and watch them since there really aren't that many good shows anymore!!! The producers need to "start" thinking about the "intelligence" of their viewing audience instead of the ridiculous reality shows and/or "get rich quick" game shows that cater to a "few", like the lottery.

djc Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 09:20 AM EST

Let's face it people, CSI had a good run, it's time to move on. When Actors get stuck in one role too long they are associated with that role for a very long time. We as viewers hate to see change in shows but they got to wind down sometimes. Besides there are some really good new shows out this season. Good Luck ! ! to Gary, Billy and Jorja in whatever they move on to next. Me for one would like to Gary and Billy in more Big Screen endeavors.

Lin Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 09:17 AM EST

I don't want Gary to leave, he is just one of the reasons I watch. There seems to be so much chemistry between all the actors. If they all leave it won't be the same!!!Please stay , Gary!!!

Carolyn Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 09:07 AM EST

I too am considering finding something else to watch! I LOVE CSI (Vegas) & have been a loyal fan from the first, but with Sara and now Warrick & Gil leaving, I personally think most of the reasons I watched will be gone! The show will NEVER be the same for me!

Maitai Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 08:57 AM EST

Well guys I was hoping for good news from last night's episode really hit me that Warrick Brown is truly dead from CSI. Doesn't look like Gary will be coming back. If he ever comes back I don't know how they will bring him back unless he appears as a dream or memory from the other characters. But I am truly saddened & pissed that Warrick Brown was killed off from the show. Does anyone know if Gary was fired or did he quit?

Doug Rouse Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 08:32 AM EST

Popular tv shows make huge profits , but when actors contracts come up and they ask for their fair share of the money they slowly get rid of them ,eventually taking the show off air. Producers do not care about the fan base.

Pam Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 08:19 AM EST

I can't believe they killed off Warrick! The show has definitely lost some "eye-candy." (Thank God we still have Nick!) Hate it, hate it! After Grissom leaves, I am through. No more CSI for me!

Kathie Weir Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 08:11 AM EST

I was a mush pot last night! I am shocked Gary is off the show. I hope this just means we will be seeing him on the nig screen. He is a terrific actor and even though i wish him and his career well, i will no longer be watching the original CSI:. Looks like Dexter will be watched now instead of taped!!

Sheryle Benson Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 07:48 AM EST

I am extremely disappointed that Gary will not be returning to CSI and the decision to kill his character. Gary made the show, with all his flaws and his inner goodness. There's not much on TV that I enjoy watching and now one less show that I'll care to watch now that he's gone. I wish him the best and hope we'll see him in another series. He's too good not to be seen in primetime again.

In Mississippi Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 05:39 AM EST

the Character of Warrick will be sadly missed....This "team" made this show exciting and energetic....a sense of family in every way...with Gil leaving too..the writers will have to do overtime to help booost this show back up.....I'm not saying the other cast members are not any good..the 6 team members made the show.....now half are gone....It's a sad day.

latte2008 Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 02:36 AM EST

Does anyone KNOW that the producers "killed" Warrick off? I heard he left to go into rehab?

Llanda Lavender Fri, Oct 10, 2008 at 02:27 AM EST

Wow... he is dead...no more Warrick, huh... that means no guest shots like Sara just did... I really thought Sara left because she was having a baby... it sure looked like it on the last episodes... but to kill Warrick completely... Wow... thank God for Dexter or my nights would be sad.

Love ya Warrick and will miss you terribly...

CRD Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 11:34 PM EST

Gary is just a man, not Black, not White, not Red, not Yellow nor any other color. He is just part of the human race and our GOD in Heaven see's him the same way, just a man that HE created the same way HE created You and Me. JUST A MAN!!!

CRD
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Joe A. Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:33 PM EST

Cannot believe the writers are writing the characters off ONE BY ONE
AND NOW IS GRISSOM LEAVING ALSO. These are the characters that make csi. As far as Sarah I can take her character or leave it. But as for as everyone else if anyone else is written off I'm GONE. /There is not much of anything to watch anymore, it seems like stupid reality show have taken over and they are trash. To be on one of the reality shows you have to be desperate. Please writers and producers do your job right or you are going to lose all your viewers. I know I will not be watching anymore

sadsadsad Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:17 PM EST

This is the beginning of the end. An awesome show with alot more potential. Leaving is okay but killing is ridiculous

Rusti B. Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:14 PM EST

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He cannot leave. This is a real let down. I love this show and will miss Werrick. All of the cast is leaving one by one. Eventually it will not be as good as it always has been. You get to know all these cast members and it just won't be the same if they keep leaving.

julie Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:11 PM EST

saddest part of sara sidles exit and warrick browns exit soon gil grissoms exit is as a fan you become attached rearrange your calender do not miss episodes and watch faithfully for nine , ten years waiting anticipating wanting to see the "happy" ending to all the vauge hints and clues wishing for these characters due just happy endings and then, just like that over contract diputes the fans are dropped off a cliff just like that . Tuff you have been waiting(for nine years) Jorga wanted a raise !! too bad fans that made us a success a raise was out of the question story line cancelled too bad! It is writers, producers and directors like this I will avoid watching thier shows agian because they could care less about their fan base that makes them rich. This Jerry Bruckhiemerfigures if he can corner the markst with twenty hit shows at a time he does not have to be concerned with this bullsh-t! Screw the fans!!!!!! I for one will avoid his shows from now on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taylor Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:08 PM EST

Is it just me? Am I the only one that absolutely can't stand Sara Sidal??? I adore Warrick and Grissom. But good riddance to Sara in my opinion. If they kill off Warrick and Grissom leaves why am I watching??? I mean I love Nick Stokes and his good heart and Catherine but for me the show IS Grissom. His constant avoidance of Sara made my day. I personally liked his scenes with Lady Heather. And why oh why did they treat Greg like crap?? He was a comical genius and one of my favorite characters.

Kay B. Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:07 PM EST

This has always been my favorite show. It felt like when Warrick was killed it was a family member. Who will ever replace him or will he be replaced or rather whoever takes his
character will have to fillfull some big shoes. He is so easy on the eyes and I will miss his him. Please don't ANYONE ELSE LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sadsadsad Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:05 PM EST

I can't believe this. I love him!

Shari B Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 09:51 PM EST

I was hurt when I heard that Gary was leaving CSI. He was a great actor and I loved watching him perform. He will be missed. I just wished that he didn't have to leave the show the way he did.

Lou Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 09:36 PM EST

I am devastated that Gary Dourdan has left the show. He added a lot to the best CSI cast/show of the 3 created. It was extraordinarily sad to see him killed making it impossible for him ever to return. I sincerely hope we will see Gary Dourdan again in other projects. Warrick was a GREAT character.

Dave Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 09:36 PM EST

Good news, Gary Dourdan will be back on CBS soon as a ghost on Ghost Whisperer.

I am truly saddened at the fact that warrick was killed off. The show will not be the same. I am truly going to miss him.

CSI (Vegas) is the best out of all 3, and the cast work really well together. I can't believe Warwick is gone. It's a shame that all of the key characters are leaving. But to have Warwick killed off was the last straw for me. I can't believe that the producers allowed that one to happen. They should have at least let him come back for re-occuring roles. TV has gone down hill, and this was the only show for me that kept my interest. Come on guys, get it together!! I'm really upset with Grissom not appearing as much, Sarah's gone, Now Warwick! I wondered if he was going to get together with his red head coworker!!

That's it for me! I cannot bear to watch this show without my favorite Warrick. He could have had a quarrel with the top brass and stormed out, but, to have him brutally murdered was way too much. So long...

Jonesy Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 09:10 PM EST

The writers will have their hands full this season. With Warrick and Grisson gone, I just don't know if the show will last. I have watched CSI from day one and if the writers don't do a great job, I will find something else to watch. I love CSI!

Rachel Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 08:48 PM EST

I am very disappointed, angry and pissed off that the producers killed Gary Dourdan character off like that, they close the door for him to come back or do guess appearances. I want him back!!! He is a major character and one of the best on the show. I hope the producers listen to other peoples' response and bring him back. I will also miss Grissom when he leaves. I truly believe that the show will not be the same. I have been watching the show from the first day it aired and a true fan. It's sad.. Will miss you(Warrick)!

Jackie Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 08:17 PM EST

First Sara, then Warrick, now Grissom.
I don't think I'll be watching the new season past the first show.
I can't believe they killed off Warrick. Now can never return to the show

momto3+twins-csifan Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 08:15 PM EST

i am a bit confused i know he was shot i saw the ending of the episode today very sad made me cry and i never cry for the show as much as i love it! but it says above even tho he will be leaving he will make guest apperances...how can he do that if he is "dead" (which i agree did it have to be so graphic :( ) i just dont get that part. but its so sad he is leaving csi. :(

Maitai Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 12:09 PM EST

Looks like Warrick may make it back to CSI. We'll have to find out from tonight's (Oct. 9/08) new episode. The tv preview showed Nick coming to the rescue and then the rest of the gang came running to Warrick's fallen moment ~ even Sara came back for a fallen comrad. Looks like the team will work together to find justice for Warrick.

Gary I really hope that you are coming back for another season. The show can't live without you especially now that we have Laurence Fishburn as part of the team.

Oooh! This show is getting so excited.

Carol Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 10:52 AM EST

I guess there's no question that Gary's character "Warrick Brown" is dead. We see "Gil" running up the alley to him and Brown is on the ground. End of last season when he got shot he was in the car with his head lying on the steering wheel. They have to be consistent with these things 'cuz we fans get so into it that we remember it all. I too will be sorry to see him and Peterson go. Last year was a particularly strange one on CBS for lousey endings. NCIS's Lauren Holly got killed off, Criminal Minds has everyone changing, CSI Miami was a ? on Horatio's "death". Thankfully he was alive. Many, many negative things. The nation itself is kind of in a slide right now, so we could use some feel-good stuff. Even if just for an hour.

Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 10:57 AM EST

I am sad to see Gary go and also William Peterson, he is leaving in January. I think that the show won't be as good. I love all of them, but with Gary and William gone it will be so different. I agree they shouldn't have killed him, but you know how that goes they just want you to think that. If he (warrick) did survive, that would be awesome. I am said to see him go if he really is, him and Grissom.

Pauletta Lechman Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 11:45 PM EST

I am really unhappy that William Peterson, and Gary Dourdan are leaving the show.It is not good when a Team is broken up like this.I am not sure it will be the same.I agree with one comment that was written;they didn't need to kill Warrick off;that way he could come back.

Maria M Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 10:00 PM EST

I can't believe some people. Why can't you just leave the poor man alone. No, I don't believe in doing drugs, but putting the man down or making fun of him isn't going to help him. I know one thing. He is a He** of an actor and will be sadly missed from the show. I love CSI and won't stop watching it because people leave, but it won't be the same. I guess acting is like anyother profession. Sometimes, after a while, you just need a change. But give it a rest on putting him down. If he is ready to give up the drugs, he needs support. And if he isn't, he needs to know that people care. Then, maybe, he will get clean. EVERYONE has bad habits and makes mistakes. Gary, just hang in there. We will miss you, but your life has to go on, right?

I hate to hear that Gary Dourdan is leaving the show. It seems like all the good ones are leaving. Whats really going on. There's no since in me even watching to show anyone. Everyone has some type of habit. No one is perfect. They need to make the ones that have decided to leave an offer that can't refuse to make them stay. Love ya Gary. Take care.

Yolanda Fri, Oct 3, 2008 at 02:34 PM EST

I cannot beleive that Gary Dourdan won't be coming back to CSI. Instead of killing him off, I would have preferred that CSI would have been cancelled.

scheovauni bonjovi Thu, Oct 2, 2008 at 10:38 PM EST

I love Gary and I hope that any problems that he might have he knows that there is a God in heaven that he can always rely on, he is in my prayers....

Katee Thu, Oct 2, 2008 at 09:04 AM EST

All of you on here that are making fun of Gary Dourdan are immature and ignorant. If he does have a drug problem, you should not be glorifying it but praying for him. You don't know what this man has going on in his life and I'm sure that each of you have some skeletons in your closets! So, before you point your finger, turn the finger on yourself. Gary, you hang in there, baby, and may God bless you in your future endeavors. I'll always be a fan of yours! :-)

Some guy Thu, Oct 2, 2008 at 05:59 AM EST

Yeah the heroin!!!! Mmmm sniff!!! Smart snort all those paychecks away and found dead in a couple years....

Christina Wed, Oct 1, 2008 at 05:25 AM EST

I enjoy watching CSI, but I hate that so many main characters are leaving. It won't be the same. What's wrong with you CBS letting this happen. Hopefully it will be worth watching now.

Tue, Sep 30, 2008 at 03:33 AM EST

Atleast he's got his heroin. I mean really I'm sure he's bit all broken up about it ;)

Amber Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 06:19 AM EST

I am extremely disappointed about them giving Dourdan the ax (bullet)! Oh, and was it really so necessary to have it be so graphic?! I mean for gosh sake, he's a loved character. You didn't have to make us feel like we were right in the car with him! It made me feel half sick actually. :/

Well, I think that by killing off Dourdan’s character, CBS will also be putting another nail in CSI’s coffin. At least when the show goes belly up in the near future, CBS can't say that they weren't warned. I've read a lot of unhappy remarks here about all of this.

Cathy Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 04:33 AM EST

If it's Gary's decision to leave the show, I can respect that because he should be able to leave if he really wants to. If it's CBS's decision to get rid of him because of any drug problem that he might have, then I think that's a VERY bad decision on their part, one which I don't respect. I've watched CSI from the beginning and my favorite actor/actress on the show have always been Gary and Jorja. I was upset enough when Jorja left, but I stuck with the show. Now if Gary leaves, I really don't have much of a reason to watch it. No matter whose decision it was for Gary to leave the show (if he really is leaving), I wish Gary well in the future. He is such a great actor! I'll at least be watching the first episode of the new season...a big part of me will be hoping that Warrick makes it and that the under sheriff will be arrested for ALMOST killing Warrick Brown.

Sierra Sat, Sep 27, 2008 at 09:45 AM EST

Wow! Some of you people NEED to get a life! I can't keep from laughing out loud at some of the comments.

I've watched CSI since the beginning, too, but know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. When the show takes precedence over family needs (one person said the family knows not to interrupt when the show is on), that's gone way too far.

Bottom line -- it's a television show. Entertainment. In the meantime, I pray that Gary Dourdan can get the help he needs to battle his demons and come out a better person for it.

debbie Fri, Sep 26, 2008 at 09:53 PM EST

I really hope that there will be a way to keep Gary Dourdan on the show. He brings a lot to the show.He will really be missed. Try hard to keep him. Thank you

Spanyarna Archie Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 09:22 PM EST

I just started watching CSI.I was hooked on Law and Order until I found CsI.I LOVE Gary.I was so heart-broken when Gary was shot.I hope to God he didn't die.Maybe he can still be alive and just go away because he knew the guy that shot him.Gary,Please visit your myspace page soon,it's been a long time.

Jean Heitz Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 01:40 PM EST

I really wish Gary Dourdan much luck and hope he shows up on the CSI programs frequently as he is one of my favorites along with William Petersen! Miss Jorga also!!

Carmel Lucas Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 09:30 AM EST

I was so shocked to hear Gary Dourdan was leaving the show, I have watched the show from the start. I Love it, won't be the same without Warrick.

Stephine Fri, Sep 19, 2008 at 09:04 PM EST

I'm so mad. This show is getting worse and worse. With Sarah leaving. Warrick dying. Grissom leaving too. I can't stand this anymore. Now I have to watch Miami or New York.

This is the best one out of all the CSI's

Sandra Bowen Fri, Sep 19, 2008 at 04:43 PM EST

I am a serious CSI fan since the beginning so I understand how other fans feel about Mr. Dourdan (Warrick) being killed off on last seasons finale. Do you all not know that (William Petersen) Grissom is also leaving? In January 2009? He will continue to be a producer but he announced that about two months ago. I guess that will be a wrap.

b4real Thu, Sep 18, 2008 at 09:31 PM EST

I bet they took Gary off the show because of the drug situation. How many other actors, actresses, celebrities and music artist have gotten caught with drugs? what happened to them? If he is really off the show, I will never watch again.

Tygarkat Thu, Sep 18, 2008 at 03:24 PM EST

It was such a heartbreaker to see one of my favorite CSI's go out so painful. I started watching this show when it first began 8+ years ago and decided I am in love with Gil Grissom and Warrick Brown. Gil departed for a minute and I was so ecstatic for him too return from his "sabattical". However my other true love of the show is gone for good. Gary Dourdan aka Warrick Brown, you have a true love and friend in me whatever your endeavor may be!

Jeanne Wed, Sep 17, 2008 at 10:31 AM EST

I just saw the show last night and I too was so mad! I looked at my Husband and said "I will never watch this show again!" It was bad enough to lose Sara but now Warwick whats going on! God Bless Gary and Jorja in whatever they do. Long time viewer very angry! Never wrote for a show before!

Wow... dude gary you gotta renew your contract.. that show is inspiring me to enter a career in Forensic science. jeez without you in there its gonna be weird..

Sabra Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 09:19 PM EST

I just saw the episode where Warrick was killed at the end. I was very upset to see that. Not sure that I will look forward to seeing CSI anymore. They could have shot him somewhere else less life threatening so fans of his at least would have the hope of his return. It seemed even too gruesome for CSI...even if he's chosen to leave the show because of a drug problem. I would have never known of his arrest, except I was so moved by that ending I felt I needed to voice my opinion. I will miss his character.

Jane Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 03:28 PM EST

I have been a fan from the beginning, but I can't say I'm surprised by Dourdan leaving. For the past two seasons, his appearance looked awful. There were some definite physical changes that showed in his face and I wondered if he had a drug problem. I just very recently found out he did. A "mutual decision" probably meant he had become such a problem for CBS and CSI that they were glad to see him go. He's such a good actor who ruined his life and career with drugs. I wish him the best and hope he returns to acting sober and free of drugs.

tamara Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 08:22 AM EST

Gary I think you are a great actor! I hope someday I can meet you in peson. Well best of luck to you and your children. And remember to keep god the head of your life(where all blessings come from)

JANICE Sun, Aug 31, 2008 at 01:14 PM EST

I JUST WANT MR. DOURDAN TO KNOW HE WILL TRULY BE MISSED. I HAVE WATCHED CSI SINCE THE BEGINNING. MY FAMILY KNOWS ON THURSDAY NIGHTS DO NOT DISTRUB ME. WARRICK AND GRISSOM REALLY MAKE THE SHOW FOR ME. HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE FUTURE.

GOD WILL SEE YOU THORUGH YOUR TROUBLES.

rebekah Sun, Aug 31, 2008 at 10:06 AM EST

does his departure have anything to do with being arrested after drugs were found in his car? anyone remember that?

If Mr. Dourdan reads this web-site I just want to say that I so sorry to see you leave the show. It has been a pleasure to watch you.

As others have said I hope that you will get the help that you need and know that through GOD ALL things are possible. He is your strength. Don't let the drugs or other things that the devil is putting in your path continue to control you. Put GOD FIRST and he will bring you through.

May GOD be with you and your family and I hope to see you back on the show one day.

I WAS VERY UPSET TO SEE THEM KILL GARY DOURDANS CHARACTER OFF OF CSI. HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I KNEW HE WAS LEAVING THE SHOW, BUT, WHEN THEY SHOT HIS CHARACTER WAS SHOCKED. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. I HAD ALWAYS HOPED THEY WOULD HOOK HE AND KATHERINE'S CHARACTER UP. I ALSO HEARD THE WILLIAM PETERSON HAS CHOSEN TO LEAVE. I LIKE HIM A LOT TOO. JORGA FOX HAD ALREADY LEFT, NO LOSS THERE. I WAS SORRY TO READ OF HIS PROBLEMS IN PALM SPRINGS. BUT, I'M SURE HE WILL BOUNCE BACK. GOOD LUCK TO GARY.

Gary
If you read these comments I for one think you would be fantastic playing Jimmy Hendrix so now could be the opportunity so come on American producers lets see a Jimmy Hendrix story starring Gary Dourdan

Warwick was the main reason why I watched CSI. Its very sad. Needless to say, Gary is the one good-looking, talented man I would leave my husband for! So Gary if you read this, you are most welcome to fly into Perth for some respite from hectic hollywood life anytime!:) Love and light to you.

Tammie Mon, Jun 2, 2008 at 01:59 AM EST

Hello Warrick fans.I found some information that will make you guys happy.I found a website stating that Warrick will be back next season.I found it on this site:KESQ.com Palm Springs. It said that Warrick will be given a second chance at life. I hope that this is true. This info. comes from the CSI executive producers. He is not going to do any jail time but he must complete an anti-drug program by November 2009. I hope that this news is some good news.If you want to read it for yourselves just to go KESQ.com and the information should be there.

Tammie Sun, Jun 1, 2008 at 10:01 AM EST

I am happy to say that Gary will not do any jail time for the drug arrest. I hope that CBS has him to reconsider renewing his contract. i don't think that I can get use to watching CSI without seeing those beautiful green eyes. He is some major eye candy. I hope that things work out for him so that he can be there for his kids. I hope that things are different when the new season starts and if it isn't I don't think that I can continue you to be a fan of the show and it does not have anything to do with race. I love what he brings to the show and his character is so kind and smart. I don't know what the next season is going to bring but I do know this, if they decide to kill of Gary's character there is going to be a change in the ratings. I guess I will just have to watch Gray's Anatomy. I chose CSI over it but if Warrick is gone that will change. I hope that things look different than they did the night of the season finale.I will miss him if they keep things the way that they are.

They wouldn't let me write anymore below so here's the rest....
Mr.D. ,sorry for the time you've had with that thing, but man..your better than all that trouble so be strong and do what's right ,..I believe in God and you, be safe as you can in future days, thank you sir, your one of the greatest and always have been one of my fav people.I'm not one of the wildest fans but remember ,your great and that's why people take interest ,again, hope to see you return to the show.God bless...

Douglas Reeves Sat, May 31, 2008 at 08:13 AM EST

Mr. Dourdan ,I must say that I'll miss you if you leave the show ,although I must respect the truth that if you must go to further your career or do something else I reckon I'll understand. Your definitly one of my fav. characters and one of the reasons I watch.Sara AND you gone,well... ,can't see much left of csi if that happens, although katty ,king of the ants, greg, somewhat grissom wanna be,the girl that likes him, archie minus jughead, and grissom are great but Warick, man you are him on that show and a man with values that we all fight for from time to time.Thank you sir for all the worthwhile moments whatever your final decision is. One more time ...I hope you stay around for a little while longer and why are the writters getting where they kill off fav characters like warrick ,What the hell! are they thinking. It looked like you got shot in the neck ,so maybe you'll live if it went in and out,man..I was struck .

I am so upset that Gary Dourdan has decided to leave CSI, I was hoping that Warrick and Catherine would some how get it together. I do hope he doesn't die, although with the amount of bullets fired it will be a miricle if the lives but I keep hoping.

Cecilia Jaconetti Fri, May 30, 2008 at 12:06 AM EST

I can only say I'm shocked by what happened to Warrick on CSI, then the way TV has been going downhill and not caring about what the viewers want, what difference does it make...

Robert Thu, May 29, 2008 at 02:25 PM EST

Hey fans. I just saw a rerun where Warrick had a wire on and put that Judge away. That was the judge who was having do things by extorting Warrick. I wonder if there is a deeper plot we dont realize? Like he will live and put all those crooked bastards away, especially the undersheriff. Think about it. Im beginning to wonder if that is about the time the undersheriff started working. I have my fingers crossed that he will be alive. We will have to see!! Im sure we will all be watching that episode!!!!!

April Thu, May 29, 2008 at 01:51 PM EST

I love Warrick!! I can't believe they shot him in the neck, TWICE!!! OMG. He's the reason i watched the show! Y couldn't they just fire him, or suspend him, so he could come back later? They didn't have to kill him. I'm sorry guys but from the projectory of the bullet there's no coming back from that one....he's dead. No more CSI for me......

hazel fortunati Wed, May 28, 2008 at 07:17 PM EST

Why oh why when a network has something that we all enjoy they come up with this great idea to make it better. Ever heard of it ain't broke don't fix It was a terrible mistake to let Gary go and to me and I am sure others, don't know if I will keep watching! I guess it's Horatio Cane for ME

Jackie Wed, May 28, 2008 at 04:10 PM EST

I am a 61 yr. old lady and I just LOVE Warrick Brown on CSI. Since he longer is with the cast I think CSI has lost a fan. I adored Gary on the show and the way he left (getting shot in his car) was heart breaking to me...it kind of felt personal...
I WANT HIM BACK !!!!

Adrian Wed, May 28, 2008 at 11:39 AM EST

Please Bring Gary Back.

Tammie Wed, May 28, 2008 at 12:05 AM EST

I am still shocked about the exit of Gary(Warrick)too.I am going to miss him from being on the show.I don't know if I am going to be watching the new season of CSI.He brought a lot to the show.I wish that things could have been handled differently. I hope decides to renew his contract if it is possible.I hope that CBS gives him another chance and I hope that he takes it.Please bring Warrick back.Work your magic CBS.

I AM SHOCK TO SEE GARY (WARRICK) DOURDAN LEAVING C.S.I. HE IS A FANTASTIC ACTOR CBS IS LOSEING THE PLOT LETTING HIM GO WAKEY WAKEY CBS.

I AM SORRY TO HEAR GARY DOURDAN IS LEAVING C S I HE IS A VERY GOOD ACTOR IT,S NOT GOING TO BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM PLEASE PEASE STAY. FAN FROM ENGLAND

Karyn Mon, May 26, 2008 at 12:58 PM EST

I truly hope they keep him alive for future cameos...he is too strong a character to kill off...Sarah still has a strong presence without being shown. It will be tough to continue to watch with such a blunt ending...

MISSMJA&% Sun, May 25, 2008 at 01:03 PM EST

If they let him leave I think they will find that the shows ratings drop as he is one of the more favorite chacters, I have been reading a lot of blogs about this and there are truly a lot of upset fans....They might want to rethink letting him go.

ANNA Fri, May 23, 2008 at 11:24 PM EST

THIS GREAT ACTOR IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES. I HOPE THE PRODUCERS AND WRITERS OF CSI AND OTHER TO NOTCH SHOWS INCLUDE HIM FREQUENTLY.

TV is getting out of line.

Dina Fri, May 23, 2008 at 10:10 PM EST

I was shocked when I saw the season finale. I hadn't heard that Gary Dourdan wanted to depart from his role as Warrick. I have been a fan of his since he was on "Different World". I'm hoping that his character will survive and he will revise his role as Warrick. If not, it was great to see him every week on one of my best shows. Good luck to Gary on what ever he decides to do.

donna Fri, May 23, 2008 at 12:28 PM EST

I was shocked to see Warick get shot in the finale! I had no idea he was leaving. It made me sick! I hate it when great people leave great shows! I wanted him and Catherine to have another kiss and maybe a relationship! Looks like another GREAT show may have only one season left. I hate that!

Rethea Fri, May 23, 2008 at 10:01 AM EST

For the people who is wondering why they pointed out that he is African American....they didn't just say that he was African American. They said that he was "one of a handful of African American men in a leading role". As an African American I take no offense to the statement. Anyway, I abolutely LOVE him/his character. I wish him the best in his personal and professional life.

Vicki Kirby Fri, May 23, 2008 at 09:11 AM EST

Gary Dourdan is going to be missed! I loved his character and I truly hope that he will return next season.
CSI is one of my favorite programs and I hope that the cast members deciding to "move on" to other careers is a good choice
and not one that they will regret. Why leave a program that has such high ratings and such a fan base? Good luck to each and I hope the producers and actors will reconsider their decisions. Please don't miss up a good program!

Scott Thu, May 22, 2008 at 11:01 PM EST

If they killed him in the last episode, guess he won't be returning in any role in later seasons!

Shirla McDonald Thu, May 22, 2008 at 08:27 PM EST

I love(ed) all the CSI programs, but did they have to kill them off???

A.C OF LONDON Thu, May 22, 2008 at 08:17 AM EST

Mr. Dourdan is a talented actor and deserves the opportunity to extend his C.V. Eight years is long enough to explore a character within the parameters of the writers. The gossip surrounding his personal life is just that gossip, which will hopefully not impinge upon future projects. Good luck! I hope he will be replaced with another person of colour to represent the 100,000's of us who work silently in the field of science in the background.

Mandy W Thu, May 22, 2008 at 07:53 AM EST

I think it is a non issue that he is leaving since he will be on his way to jail soon. Another talent gone to waste.

Mommy Reese Wed, May 21, 2008 at 09:58 PM EST

Whatever the reason for his leaving the show, we sure wish Gary well. He's a talented young man and deserves to be happy. Be strong, Gary. There's always hope.

Kate Wed, May 21, 2008 at 08:18 PM EST

It would seem that his leaving has less to do with his natural talents then his drug use. The quantity that he was found with the other day would indicate that he has been using them for some time. Hopefully he will get whatever help he needs and return to health and continue working. He is certainly a strong talent.

CJ Wed, May 21, 2008 at 04:03 PM EST

Please don't kill off (Warrick) Gary Dourdan from CSI, it would be like killing off Grissom. I watch CSI for those two men.

Bibi Wed, May 21, 2008 at 02:40 PM EST

please keep the warrick character alive as he is made realistic by the actor who plays him. This character brings the show the reality and coolness that makes it so popular. If warrick is killed off I think the show will lose a great deal of its popularity and audience the team are true to reality because of the interaction between the actors and the roles they play. This extremely talented actor needs help and nurturing not dismissal he is lost so should be guided in to finding his way back.

Jaime Wed, May 21, 2008 at 01:14 PM EST

I don't know who reads these but here you go. Gary Dourdan is an incredibly talented actor. i am sorry for the fact that he is going through a rough time with his problem. I hope he gets the help he needs and will return to the show someday soon. Pray for him, because he needs it. And we can only hope that Billy Peterson will finish the projects he is taking time off next season for. I hate to seen the cast break up like this. I know the show has run for a good long time, but I am not ready to see it end yet. Hopefull the cast will do what they must and things can begin to go on. Jorja Fox leaving was bad enough, but hopefully she will be true to her word and come back to the show in a part-time capacity. I have been a fan from the begining, and this is the one show I never miss. Good luck to the cast in the upcomming season, and in all endovers, great and small.

I can not belive that Gary Dourdan is gone. Why should I ever watch this show again? I am so hurt. I have been a faithful watcher of Gary for 8 years and your relationship ended by him being killed by a dirty cop. I hope this is like who killed Bobby Ewing. Hopefully he will be standing in the shower when the season returns and please bring Alex back to CSI Miami. What is going on !!!!!!!!! ----------- Hurt

T's point is on target. I love criminal minds, CSI, and NCIS. All reassigned on NCIS? I guess its not going to be back on. I aint watching it. CSI and Warrick gone? I aint watching it? Tonight I will watch the end of Criminal Minds. Thats such a cool show and when they change it, I aint gonna watch it. Somebody, or everybody has lost there mind at CBS. And to heck with the striking writers. I am going to start writing for a tv syndicate. I cant do worse:)

Dang, after eight years on the show, i am still in total shock on how the season ended with Gary D. as Warrick getting shot. I am still in shock. Is he definately dead?

T Wed, May 21, 2008 at 12:31 AM EST

It seems as though CBS ran out of ideas for all their shows and decided to kill a character off of every show or break up the teams viewers have grown to love[NCIS (Director Shepard dead &team reassigned), CSI (Warrick Brown dead), possibly CSI Miami(Khandi Alexander gone and Horatio possibly dead)/NY (judging from commercials-Mack Taylor?), Criminal Minds(still not over Mandy Patinkin's exit...again, judging from the commercials- one team member dying), Without a Trace(Jack Malone?)]...what's the deal? Was there a budget cut or something? They're going to end up losing viewers and ratings by killing off main characters and drastically changing story lines. I hope the season openers show us something. I'm still bummed about The Unit being in limbo.

Jamie Tue, May 20, 2008 at 11:31 PM EST

CBS executives, mark my words, CSI Vegas will not last too long after this. Look at what happened to The Practice and many other shows that were in their prime and then cut down their lovable characters. They always end with regrets. You should learn from NBC with Law & Order.

d3njzhodges Tue, May 20, 2008 at 09:02 PM EST

I hope they renegotiate with Gary over the summer. The show won't be the same without him. Shame on CBS for not supporting him and helping him get through his personal problems.

Lindsey Tue, May 20, 2008 at 08:38 PM EST

I am so upset that Warrick was killed off the show. I love Warrick. What is CBS's problem???

achubacabra Tue, May 20, 2008 at 06:49 PM EST

i like all the cast of CSI. Such goodlookin people! Don't u just love the eyes of Gary D, the charisma of William P, the gap tooth of Jorja F, the x factor of George E, and the lovableness of Marg H? And their ACTING IS SUPERB! mORE POWER TO CSI. I like Csi Miami, too.

I am going to miss Gary(Warrick). He brought a lot to the show. I hope that there is a way that they can rewrite the script so that he can be saved. I have been thinking about his departure since the season finale. I have not come to terms with it yet. It seems like he is dead for real. I hope that he gets another shot. If not on CSI, somewhere or anywhere will please me. I hope that CBS comes to their senses and ask him to renew his contract or something. He was my eye candy. I will miss Gary. I wish there was something that can be done. It really broke my heart to see him go that way. I think that he should have made an exit like Sara. Maybe one day he could have come back. That would have been nice. To sum it all up, why Warrick? I hope that things work out for him in the near future. We all make mistakes and we all should be given a second chance in life. I hope that he is happy and content with his life. He will be greatly missed by me. I hope that he is blessed in all things he do.

maitai Tue, May 20, 2008 at 09:43 AM EST

Aaaaw! You guys are such CSI romantics! I think Catherine & Warrick were great for each other ~ smoldering & steamy I must say. Well, I guess it's not gonna happen how:( No, Eckley didn't shoot Warrick it was the other crooket cop boss. He was the MOLE all along. He never did like Grissom & his team. He was always jealous of Grissom & his relationship with his team.

James Hallman Tue, May 20, 2008 at 04:55 AM EST

If there's any way to keep CSI 3 Warrick Brown, then every effort should be made to do so. He and Catherine were supposed to hook up and I was really looking forward to that story line. Gary, if you read this, please reconsider. You're the best my friend. I always said that if I could hang out with anyone from TV, it would Warrick Brown. Thanks.

Dee Mon, May 19, 2008 at 04:18 PM EST

I can't believe Warwick is getting off the show. I won't be watching it anymore.

tonja Mon, May 19, 2008 at 02:00 PM EST

Grrr...I can't believe the finale. I hope Warrick lives. I have watched this show faithfully for the past few years. First Sara leaves, now Warrick may be gone, and Grissom will be in limited episodes next season. CSI is slowly starting to resemble ER. By the time they are finished no one will recognize any of the cast members, the story lines will be non-existent and people will be saying "That show is still on?" If CSI is going to go, let it die a glorious death with all its cast members intact. Let it go with a great story reminiscent of the Paul Millander, Lady Heather, Sam Braun story lines. You know, back when the episodes were great, kept you on the edge of your seat, and you couldn't wait until next week to see another. Don't let it be reduced to a bunch of second-rate actors and lame storylines. PLEASE!

missy Mon, May 19, 2008 at 12:52 PM EST

i hope they make it a dream episode y not have him go into rehab for a little while on the show since he was struggling with drugs it would be so much better

Diane Mon, May 19, 2008 at 06:57 AM EST

I'll really miss his character. I've been a CSI fan from the very first episode. I would really be nice if CBS could make this a dream episode, like the Season Finale of Dallas - when Bobby died and came back. Just a thought.

Best wishes to Mr. Dourdan in any and everything he does.

Tammie Mon, May 19, 2008 at 12:43 AM EST

I am deeply hurt over this.I am going to miss Warrick. He was a good CSI.They all worked real well together.I knew that something bad was going to happen when he waked outside alone.I don't think that the character should have been killed off the show.I think that it should have been handled in a different way.I don't know if I am going to continue to watch CSI or not.I know that it is just a tv show but I really was into it.I have been a fan of CSI(Las Vegas) for a long time and I don't watch the others.I just wish that he would have renewed his contract or CBS could have worked something out.It is not going to be the same without those beautiful eyes of Gary's.I am going to miss him a great deal.I heard that he was going to leave the show and that Thursday's episode might have been his last but I thought that things would have been different. For what it is worth CSI is a great show or should I say was a great show. What is it going to be like without Warrick ? I really wish I knew.

John Sun, May 18, 2008 at 05:34 PM EST

One other thought.

If Gary does have a substance abuse problem, who's going to hire him?

Others with the same problem have moved on to do crappy B horror flicks.

I hope this is not the case.

John Sun, May 18, 2008 at 04:51 PM EST

Joyce

Yeah, most employers offer help, but let's think about it.

IM sure he singed a contract.

Think of the staffing and location shots there are and you have someone who's not ready. The COST is great.

Saturday Night Live used to dress John Belishi up in the Bee costume when he wasn't ready. John hated that.

If there is a substance abuse problem the writers will make the role smaller and set studio shots. You have to be able to depend on these actors.

This isn't like a soap opera star thats having a baby that Mcdonald Cary pipes in after the opening that the part of "so and so" will be played by "whomever".

Because Warrick and Kat are both from Vegas, their charetchers don't have anywhere to go, unlike Sara.

If Gary has a problem, I hope he wakes up and smells the coffee. We all expect great work to come from him.

ashley Sun, May 18, 2008 at 04:32 PM EST

I was in shock, pain, and disbelief when I saw Warrick get shot.I knew the undersheriff was dirty.I hate that Gary has to leave the show.We are used to his character and he fits well with the other personalities. Let him take some time off. He's no role model, just an actor.Adults watch this show the most and if they choose his path-what dummies.Stars have ups and downs;don't judge b/c the average American has done worst or has a family member who has.Keep Gary and be a family and support(not baby)him. Pressure has always been an overwhelming power in Hollywood. Then you have to add on family, paparazzi, and competition.I love CSI:Las Vegas, this happens to be the better of the three-as far as more relatable characters.Don't lose George,b/c I can't take all of the sexy older men being removed from the show. Please give us some flavor in Ray-there is enough hot white guys in the shows.Besides Nick doesn't need any competition that may prompt him to flip out and/or leave.PLEASE!!!!

mizztee42 Sun, May 18, 2008 at 04:18 PM EST

I can't believe Warrick is gone. I know GD is a good actor. I've had my eye on him since I saw him in a Janet Jackson video years ago. He's hot and talented. I hope the big wigs of CBS forward our love and support to GD. Get well and move forward.

Lynn Sun, May 18, 2008 at 04:10 PM EST

The minute the CSIs left the restaurant, I knew Warrick was in trouble...I didn't want that to happen! Why on earth couldn't CBS negotiate with Gary Dourdan? He is one heck of a great actor! Wouldn't it be incredible to see him step into Grissom's shoes? All the actors on CSI Las Vegas have great chemistry together. I really have gotten into the show, can't miss an episode. Losing Sara was bad, losing Warrick is horrible. Pfui on CBS! I hope the others are right and Warrick can come back...

Joyce Sun, May 18, 2008 at 03:32 PM EST

My first thought is don't most employers offer drug rehab to their employees? So why isn't that happening in Gary's case? I really do hope he is able to come back on CSI, and I wish him well in whatever may come! I really do enjoy his part as Warrick, very down to earth and yet very sensual!!

Andrew Sun, May 18, 2008 at 03:28 PM EST

Joan,
Actually it was the not Eckley but the under-sherrif that shot him.

heather Sun, May 18, 2008 at 03:27 PM EST

At the end of CSI I felt something bad was going to happen but shot. Warick probably isn't going to make it. But we can only hope. Gary is a good actor, I just hope he can get clean and stay safe.

Andrew Sun, May 18, 2008 at 03:21 PM EST

CSI has been my favortite show since it came around going on 8 years now. Warrick and Grissom have been my favorites since the start. Now with Warrick gone I am seriously not sure I want to watch the show. That would leave CSI:NY as the ONLY network show I watch. Every other show I like never seems to last ( New Amsterdam,Moonlight to name a few) I am afraid to say that now in this age of mindless reality tv, prime time game shows and cookie cuter soap opera style drama I am on the edge of flushing the toilet on network tv FOREVER. Gary, I hope you and CBS can work something out by some miracle and come back. If not...good luck and it has been a great 8 years. You'll be missed on CSI.

joan anderson Sun, May 18, 2008 at 02:52 PM EST

after reading a lot of comments, i have to say this. did anyone happen to notice who shot Warrick? it was Eckley, the CSI team's boss. he's always trying to stir up trouble between the members.it might be a better idea to get rid of eckley.

John Sun, May 18, 2008 at 12:30 PM EST

I'is too bad that Gary is leaving the show. I heard that his drug bust got him fired from CBS. I don't think Warrick will survive the shooting. He grew up in Vegas. He close ties to Nick, Cat and Griss makes it hard for him to survive without him being disabled. I don't see it happening. Gary had a great role and he made us believe in Warrick. He'll make some coin on reruns for quite smoe time. I hope Gary can clean up his act and get back to acting. He's great, and will be missed

I hope Gary reads our comments to see how many people will be missing him in the fall then maybe he could extend his contract for a few more years. After all he is one of the favourite character on the show. Ok, Gary, if you read our comments please renew your contract because CSI won't be the same without you. I already miss Sara on the show.

On CSI: Miami the show hasn't been the same since "Speed" was killed off. And now Khandi Alexander also left. Who knows who will peform Alex's autopsies now? Maybe Horatio will wear a new hat as a coroner.

K cera cera CSIs!!

Aprylette Sat, May 17, 2008 at 08:03 PM EST

I agree, johnson roth. The sexual tension that emanated between Warrick & Katherine is a situation I wanted explored in the 1st couple of seasons! I don't know whether that idea was ever addressed or what. Then, I don't know what prompted the 'rush' for a quickie marriage to someone that the cast/viewers never even met?! Well... I have my suspicions.

What I appreciate about a show with compelling writing is 'what you see ain't necessarily what you get'!

Aprylette Sat, May 17, 2008 at 07:31 PM EST

K'ar, I am glad that you along with others here noticed the open-ended conclusion to Warrick's presumed demise. If that garish yet common exit was Gary Dourdan's, then it was not reminiscent of the brilliantly creative writing that this CSI show has become synonymous for. As we know, the storylines of the Paul Malander & Lady Heather series were intriguing & suspenseful. I also found the progressive 'hearing loss' misfortune experienced by Grissom innovative. Here was a masterful forensic scientist, precise in his occupation, yet flawed through no fault of his own. What more effective way to touch the average viewer than with normal human frailty? Brilliant! Therefore, the energy that was revved up to produce that 'shocking' yet un-inspired season ender was... average & not up to CSI calibre but similar to competing shows' routine endings.

Responses to Dourdan's exit demonstrates for Bruckheimer & co., love for a cast member & may produce an interesting fall premiere.;)

jonson roth Sat, May 17, 2008 at 07:09 PM EST

I'm a straight guy and I like Warrick. It really won't be the same without him - and he Catherine Willows have a lot of sexual tension. The writers would be idiots not to have in at least a few more episodes.

I'm really thinking that "it's just a neck shot" and Nick will come out in time to find Warrick before he dies. Cross your fingers.

Jennifer Sat, May 17, 2008 at 02:22 PM EST

Ok, Viewers don't give up hope. It's all about having a positive attitude. Don't just assume that Warrick is dead. There is still hope he only slummed over and we hope he isn't dead.

Stephanie Sat, May 17, 2008 at 02:08 PM EST

Way to go Frank! I am hoping that you are right. I hope that the writers are just keeping us on the edge our our seats. I hope that Warric doesn't die. I love him he is a loving character and the show won't be the same without him. I hope that the writers read what the people want and they do write that Nick get out there and saves Warrick before he dies. WE ARE ALL HOPING THAT WARRICK SURVIVES! And that Grissom finds the real dirty cop. Please don't let Warrick die. If Debbie is right and and he is being written out because he was arrested don't throw him AWAY get him the help that he needs. I hope that his is only for ratings and that Warrick lives. Writers you have the opportunity to save a character that millions of viewers love. This is your chance for great ratings "Save Warrick".

Rose Sat, May 17, 2008 at 02:06 PM EST

I am really going to miss him. The show will not be the same without him period. He was my eye candy, without him, I will not be watching CSI or any CSI shows. I Love Warrick. Good Luck to you.

Frank Sat, May 17, 2008 at 02:01 PM EST

Ratings is what these shows are all about. Showing Warrick shot at the end of an episode is a way to get viewers involved and hoping that Nick will find him before he bleeds to death. We are all holding our breath and hoping that Warrick doesn't die. did Nick hear the shots? Does he save Warrick his best friend? As viewers we are all hoping that Warrick will be saved am I wrong? This is what brings ratings? Like who shot JR. We just have to keep hoping that the writers will save Warrick. If they don't there will be a lot of disappointed viewers. It doesn't have to do with racism it is all about ratings. Hang in there and hope that Warrick will be saved. I write this as a devoted viewer of CSI. Writers need to remember that if they disappoint viewers they are the losers in the rating game. Viwers will turn out if Warrick dies.

Debbie Sat, May 17, 2008 at 01:50 PM EST

I was so devastated to Warrick murdered by a real dirty cop. I can't believe that the writers would make him innocent and say that he was framed. He was happy with the other cast members only to be killed cold blooded by a real dirty cop. I love this show and I can't believe that there is no hope for Warrick to survive his shooting. Does Nick find him in time before he bleeds out? Is there any hope for his character? Will they ever find the dirty cop that tried to or that successfully killed him? I read in the news that he was arrested on drug charges. Has there been a problem with him coming to the set under the influence and because of this they wanted to write his character out of the show. If this is was the problem why didn't they get him the necessary help he needed. I hate it when the writers kill a much loved character. I saw Warrick shot twice today by a bad cop. PLEASE don't let him die. Please let NICK hear the shots and get out to help him. Save Warrick.

Alicia Sat, May 17, 2008 at 07:40 AM EST

are you people serious about it being brutal? I loved him and I hope that he comes back, but come one do you people watch the show? It is all about death and people killing one another. The show won't be the same without him and I can't wait to see him again. You didn't see him die--This show needed a little more action because it has been dragging lately, I think that the writers need to get their stuff together, get more involved in the character's life and make it more interesting. Lets make cases that don't end in one episode. Everyone likes a good villan-remember Paul Malander, the box killer, Sam? Come on us fans that have been watching from the beginning need more.....To the people about playing the race card-give me a break, Warrick was a loved character who wanted out. You guys make me SICK!!

Jennifer Fri, May 16, 2008 at 10:16 PM EST

Boy ROBIN You are rude! No wonder people must be prejudice against YOU. Stop hating yourself. hahaha

Anyway, Warrick was killed because he got inovlved with the MOB and a CROOKED COP. NOT because he is BLACK. It definitely sucks. Warrick was a great character.

I have been a devoted fan of CSI since the very beginning. Over the years,it has been a successful running show. I am of the opinion that before it takes a tumble in ratings due to all the changes being made with the original cast, they should cut their losses and just end the show altogether.People will move on.

billy Fri, May 16, 2008 at 09:04 PM EST

I am done with CSI. First of all, this show was a bit on the prejudice side. Warrick pretty much had less camera time than any other csi. He always showed up later on in the lab. For his to have been there from the very beginning. Way to go csi for being even more prejudice. You take the only black character of the show and have them go out arrested, accused of murder, a druggie, and now murdered. YOU SUCK!!!!

Rebekah Fri, May 16, 2008 at 08:40 PM EST

I am just as upset as everyone else. I really liked Warrick, I liked Sara. And if Grissom is going to be doing fewer episodes too, then that is the end of CSI. My husband WILL NOT watch the other CSI's, he watches the original BECAUSE of Grissom. I hate the way Sara left but I am hoping for the best with Warricks caracter. Please don't kill him off!!!!!!

starleo Fri, May 16, 2008 at 07:56 PM EST

THANK GOD! To all the people who moved beyond race, to see that this was a great actor and the show won't be the same without him. I loved the friendship Warrick and Nick had. It felt genuine.

Marcia G. Fri, May 16, 2008 at 07:34 PM EST

I love Warrick. I was so hurt about the ending last night. I was devastated. This is not the way to end this show. Just as Gil and Sarah were revealing their relationship, Sarah leaves the show. Gary is having personal problems, now he may leave the show. Warrick and Nick make the show. I love them both. Why does CSI have to go down as a has been show? That is what will happen in the end, especially if Warrick dies. We love you Warrick!!!! Save the show and keep him alive.

Tabitha Fri, May 16, 2008 at 05:17 PM EST

My husband thinks he'll survive since he was shot in the neck and he thinks the second shot was to the chest. I think Nick will find him. I think the rest of the gang will find out it was the under sheriff and I think then Warrik will have had enough of being a CSI and leave. I think the under sheriff killed the police officer they were looking for and used his gun to try and kill Warrik. I hate to see him leave. I always liked his character and he's got the most beautiful eyes!!

This is for Robin ... not sure where you get that all of these comments are about "Race" but I think you're off of your rocker and you can't spell correctly either.

helen b Fri, May 16, 2008 at 05:04 PM EST

What on earth was that! There must be a better way to end the season finale and the ending of Garys career with CSI. CBS owes that to its long loyal fans. I truely hope both parties will sit down at the table and negotiate something out to atleast acknowledge us long standing loyal fans! We deserve better!

bulldog Fri, May 16, 2008 at 05:00 PM EST

alright, I am a little confused .... you people watch TV *Crime Dramas* and complain about the crimes? This was not the most brutal thing that has ever been shown, everyone just feels that way because Warrick was a likable character.

As far as riding into the sunset goes, I have seen in a few articles where he *asked* to be killed off and really what better way to do it then by leaving it as a crime for the team to investigate (since the show deals with that from time to time)?

The best way to look at this is at least this way when next season rolls around nobody will ask "I wonder what happened to Warrick" and have some lame "he needed some time" story ... he went out in a way that will be remembered.

Mageuzi Fri, May 16, 2008 at 03:44 PM EST

I am SOOOO disgusted with CSI!!! Why did they have to make that last scene so brutal? He could have just rode away into the sunset and been done with it. But that's how they do my people all the time though!!!

maitai Fri, May 16, 2008 at 03:01 PM EST

I sort of had the hunch something was going to happen as Warrick was walking to his car alone. I thought perhaps his car was going to explode & kill him. Hmmmm? I guess we will have to see what happens in the fall.
