CBS' 'Moonlight': Good news for fans?

Dohring_l Though CBS hasn't officially ordered a second season of Moonlight, the sexy vampire drama starring Alex O'Laughlin, co-star Jason Dohring (Josef Konstantin) told EW.com that Joel Silver, the show's executive producer, hinted that a second-season pickup seems likely. “We just aired our first episode after the strike break and the ratings were really good, so things are looking up," Dohring told EW.com at the April 26 premiere of Speed Racer, which Silver produced. "Joel just pulled me aside on the carpet and said things were looking up and not to book any jobs for after the hiatus. That’s gotta be good, when the producer tells you things are looking up on whether or not you’ll still have a job next season.”

In terms of upcoming episodes, Dohring says there'll be a lot more vampire action. "There is going to be a problem, and to solve it all the vampire circles and families are going to have to come together," he said. "We have a big meeting to address the problem. There are vampires from all different social stratas."

And if Moonlight does, in fact, return for a second season, Dohring hopes the writers will make use of his character's extremely advanced age. “Because he is a 400-year-old, they could draw from any of those time periods for stories," Dohring suggested. "I would like to see some flashbacks to establish more about this guy. Mostly, I just want to wear some cool period costumes but I think it’d be cool to see some huge historical events from the last 400 years that may have been instigated or impacted by vampires, this vampire in particular.” -- With reporting by Carrie Bell

I never watched CBS since I live in Europe... Stupid thing is channels over here also bought the first season of Moonlight so now we are thousands of people over here hooked aswell!! I really hope they will make another season, and another, and another. The only show that was worth watching!

This just makes me SICK! The only shows I ever watched on CBS were Ghost Whisperer and Moonlight! None of their other shows does a thing for me! What a stupid move on CBS's part!

Alex O'loughlin to a contract because they now realize that they blew it by cancelling Moonlight. They knew some other network was likely to pick up Moonlight as a mid-season replacement, so they signed him so that they could put a final "nail in the coffin" of Moonlight. They were scared that if someone else picked up Moonlight it would be a big success, and that would validate that they blew it! Nina Tessler was scared she would be shown to have a tin ear and bad judgement. CBS and Tessler now realize that cancelling Moonlight was worse than a crime, it was a blunder! Showing there ignorance and arrogance yet agian. If they cared about their fans more than their ego, they would admit their mistake and bring back Moonlight.

I miss this show this new Fall season. In fact, none of the new shows airing currently seem interesting. "Moonlight" was a show that had action, comedy, romance, and unique storylines. We viewers waited anxiously for what was going to happen next, and now, we'll never have our "happy ending."

I loved Moonlight. This is the year of the vampire. CBS you GOOFED BIG TIME. With Twilight-the movie and all the great novels out there, we really have a following. Too bad-this was the only CBS show I would watch.

Moonlight was great. Looks like CBS had it right and then dropped the "fangs".

MOONLIGHT is my favorite TV show!!!
I'm a great-grandmother, & my whole family thinks I'm crazy (LOL) to watch a show about VAMPIRES when I have to rush home to watch it! but I can't miss my weekly dose of excitement & of course Mick is gorgeous! I think this is similar to the way I felt about the original SUPERMAN TV series with Steve Reeves! When I was a kid I never missed an episode! He was my Super- Hero.....now it's Mick!!
I would like to see more of Mick as as a Human and in love with Sophie! It's like a take-off of BEAUTY & THE BEAST!
Hate that he has to sleep in a freezer, though! Couldn't he, instead, have a small sheik bedroom with an industrial sized air-conditioner?? LOL
Can't wait for it to start again!
Any plans to put the series on DVD?
I would like to watch all of them without the commercials & fast-forwarding of my DVR.
Bring on another season, Please & Thanks!

I can't believe that CBS canceled Moonlight even though the ratings were fine and the buzz for it was gaining. Plus, with Twilight coming out in December, True Blood coming on soon and Johnny Depp working with Tim Burton on Dark Shadows...this is The Year of the Vampire!!

CBS, please bring back this show. You will make a crapload of money because people will be hungry for a vampire/mortal love story on network TV.

CBS has already ruined CSI & CSI Miami, I quit watching & I never used to miss it. If they get rid of the Moonlight that is the last straw I will never watch their network again. They do this all the time. Put a really great show on & get rid of it. Meanwhile, they leave the Price is Right on for 500 years. This really stinks.

Moonlight has so many possibilities. It has everything--superb cast, great storylines, and the intrigue of the supernatural. What a fun romp! I really miss it! Surely it will be picked up for more seasons.

Even though the show 'Moonlight' had some problems and some low ratings that doesn't meen that you should give up on the show! After reading many reports on the show I noticed that 'Moonlight' had many more viewers after the strike.That means that you would actually have the chance to make a second season. Instead of receiving complaints about the show and putting them in the trash bin actually listen to them and put peoples ideas in the show that way you will have more vuewers. And you can also perhaps make more episodes of Mick actually being human. Think about the money you would recieve if you did this. Many people love this show don't just throw away that opprotunity make the opprotunity happen!

I love Jason Dohring. He and Kristen Bell were the best things about Veronica Mars...Kristen with her smart-alecky, Munchkin cuteness, Jason with his tall, bad-boy sexiness. Hope Moonlight comes back for a second season so we can keep seeing Jason on TV!

The show deserves another season...but CBS doesn't have a great track record. "Jericho" had a dedicated fan base who brought the show back for a second season, only for CBS to cancel it again. Let's hope that "Moonlight" doesn't end up with the same fate.

Friday night's show was the best yet, simply AWESOME. Loved the way they established Mick's relationships with both Beth and Josef by showing what Mick was willing to do to save Beth and what Josef was willing to do to help Mick. Really hoping this gets renewed!
