Uber-producer J.J. Abrams has recruited longtime Lost scribe Jeff Pinkner to serve as the showrunner on Fringe, Abrams’ much-anticipated sci-fi drama in the works for fall at Fox. Pinkner, who also worked with Abrams on Alias, will oversee the drama, which stars Dawson Creek’s Joshua Jackson (pictured) as a member of a unit investigating other-worldly mysteries. The group also includes an insane scientist (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’s John Noble) and an FBI agent (Australian actress Anna Torv). The series, which Abrams has described as similar in spirit to The X-Files, Altered States, and The Twilight Zone, is currently shooting a two-hour pilot with a reported $10 million-plus budget.

Sounds like a Torchwood ripoff.
More X-files than Torchwood.
That’s Paul Thomas Anderson…not J.J. Abrams.

Ha! Joshua Jackson does look like Paul Thomas Anderson in that picture!
Just so happy to have Pacey back on tv, that I would probably watch the show if it was about paint drying! BUT, that being said, the concept actually sounds pretty good and you can’t go wrong with JJ Abrams producing it!
Pacey’s hot> I’ll watch this show it has to be better than Lost which turned quickly into a boring pile of crap

this is filming in toronto right now , well it was last week when i was there
This is geek nirvana. Dawson’s Creek meets Lord of the Rings meets Alias/Lost. AWESOME!
Actually both Alias and Lost proved that anything JJ does on TV starts good but gets bad later. I hope this time JJ doesn’t turn the show to a farce. X-Files, at least, had run as a decent show for 6 seasons. I generally do not like copies. Let’s wait and see…
Dan I’ll add Felicity to that list of JJ Abrams good starts-gets bad later shows too. Though I think Lost is as good as it’s ever been now.
