This same little sleepy town state doctors advised the governor that the complications of this procedure did not require tracking and would be counter productive. Well they found a way to not term it a complication, fatal or not. How about a true effort to portray the way hospitals and doctors need to protect the patient, conflicts with "stent mills" and fatal outcomes?

The standars tracking for cardiac stent placement allows for procedure related death not to be categorized as
such if the patient is discharged or transferred to the floor from OR or no surgical intervention is done in 24 hours. She arrived and a code was called immediately but her doctor didn't see her until it was too late. The "consult" was not in the chart for months later and was only a sentence or two in the doctor's notes.
Hospital does not require dr. to submit full consult findings in the chart. Clearly this needs to be changed.

Shonda, if you are up for the challenge you might be interested in the real life drama facing seniors in todays health care crisis. My mother bled to death after a procedure done at a sleepy little ( stent mill) town whose hospital does ten times the national average procedures. It turns out that her death was an "unexpected outcome", not reflecting upon the hospital's mortality rate nor the stent reseach product safety. It was more cost effective not to intervene and address the suit later than to do the corrective surgury. You see, the legal system doesn't place much value on the life of seniors, their financial ":value"/income is so little that settling out of court is typical as the monetary damages are based upon their income. So, keep that in mind when your mother or grand mother is about to have a procedure. As a retired nurse I find it the situation appalling and there will be little recourse or consumer protection if these fatalities aren't tracked properly, ineffective.

I am really glad that Meredith and Derek are getting back together.

As for all of the other Gizzie stuff and the Addek stuff.....who cares? Shonda isn't going to rearrange her entire story line just because people are upset! People were furious when Derek chose Addison and when Meredith drowned! They were still storylines that people tuned in for even if they didn't like them. So lets chill and find something meaningful to debate - something that actually matters.

Because no offense, but whether fictional characters end up together is not the most important thing in the world right now.

Otherwise, congrats Meredith and Derek! They are a really great couple and I would appreciate seeing a healthy relationship on television for ONCE.

What I think is that GA fans don't really know what they want!!!
bad for Shonda because if she puts Gizzie back, fans who hate gizzie will be pissed and if she puts alex and izzie together,the gizzie fans will be pissed so she really has no choice,shonda has a puzzle to do.

Patrick Dempsey said once he could not figure out why they extended the Addison Derek story because to him it did not make sense. I cannot see why some people live the "fantasy" that these characters worked. Since they were on the show, he never really loved her and Patrick Dempsey himself has been pro the Meredith and Derek characters from the start. Same with Pompeo. Why don't you just respect the actors who play these characters and let Addek die. It's truly been dead since Addison rolled into town at the end of S1. Give it up already.

I'm sorry to say that I'm very disappointed in the Mer/Der reunion. I really started watching the show in the middle of Season III when Meredith was near death, and I started to back track, and got all the DVD's for 1st and 2nd Season, and once they introduced Addison, I was hooked in seeing that relationship work out, and the way it has been written tells me that it was Addison that was once the love of Derek's life. It was because of Addison's unfaithfulness that brought him and Meredith together, and by the way they got together (a one night stand), I just can't see that as the basis of true love. It was more of a rebound as far as I'm concerned. Maybe if he had met Meredith, the way he met Rose, and if he wasn't married, then maybe I would be more sold on their relationship, but Meredith has to grow up!!! I can't stand her immature obnoxious ways, and their relationship is sickening to watch,I'd rather they make a healthy relationship with Rose/Der, or bring back Addison.

Just got the news about the characters Meredith and Derek FINALLY getting the stable relationship. It's about time! We need to have at least one on there and Meredith and Derek should have been "it" from the start. Thank goodness we actually get to see it for a while and not get the "Friends Ross/Rachel" ending we were all so worried about. We actually get to see Mer/Der WORK on a relationship! Thank you lion and Julie:) I agree with your posts wholeheartedly. I love the characters Mer/Der and know that Shonda loves them too. It was sad to see them used for ratings. To not work on their story, but to use them more heavily than all the other GA characters in promo's, magazine covers, and interviews. Heck, even this news made it worldwide and then not follow through on their story. It felt like she knew fans would stay tuned for it to work out and we'd have to wait until the last season. Thank goodness the strike gave Shonda time to think and she went to Dempsey and Pompeo for their opinions as they have always loved Mer/Der together and have always support the fans on their love too. It will be great to see what she does with them. I'm beyond excited and yep, yep. there will be more awesome magazine covers and plenty of us fans waiting to buy them! My friends and I are sooo excited! Thanks EW for the news!

I am a Gizzie fan and I would say people are 50-50 on them, on some sites, 90% are for them, on others 90% are against them, it depends where you go, but no Gizzie fan will ever pretend 90% of the fans love them, LOL. We are not stupid or blind. We always said it was 50-50, and those who love them do as much as those who hate them. They generate very very strong emotion on both sides. My friends and I are Gizzie fans, but then someone else's friends might hate them, it depends on what site you go and who you hang out with.
As for MerDer, I do love them very much, and I am very happy for them and their fans.
That does not mean I don't have other wishes for the show, chiefly that George and Izzie get the romance their fans have been waiting 4 years to see.

As far myself, I have only posted there once in it's history and I would accuse a Alex/Izzie fans of ripping me off except the post was edited to be a PRO GIZZIE post. Since I am a pro Alex/Izzie fan, it would not serve anyone who shares my like of these two to make an edit of my post to seem like a GIZZIE fan post. It only makes GIZZIE look good so what's the point? If promoting someone other than GIZZIE, then you or whoever stole it on here, might as well put my ENTIRE post up. Clearly it's a fan of GIZZIE as it's edited to PROMOTE THEM!
So now IZZIE/ALEX fans are stealing the posts too huh? Well, they didn't' steal mine and edit it because what has now been put up there is a PRO GIZZIE SPAM. It's pretty obvious who did this and your argument in GIZZIE fans defense is not only insulting..it's simply not true. You are thieves. If there's any justice, GIZZIE will be over in S5!!

Those Grey matter comments, in the big part, come from people I know who post on Gizzie fan sites I post on too, some I am sure you don't know about as they are that, private.

So I can guarantee you those posts do come from Gizzie fans.

You know how I know? Most of us post our messages on the Gizzie sites before sending it in, LOL

God the Gizzie haters are desperate, trying to tarnish the Gizzie fans' names

At least we don't spend days on end spamming polls against them so TPTB think everyone hate them when it is not the case

What is the matter? A bit too many Gizzie fans for your liking.

Also Grey matter is very careful about spamming, they ask you for your email address if they suspect the least spamming.

I heard MerDer fans say they were asked for their addy, and I was too, and they sent an email veryfying I was a real person with a real email.

But thanks for the laugh, coming from the Gizzie haters who during the Touchstone panel asked me, thinking i was a hater, to please vote against them and invite all my friends to vote against them even those who had never watched the show, to invent a fake address and lie about coming from the States (you had to be from the States, but I recognized some Gizzie haters from Germany, France, ngland, who had obviously used fake address to get in), it is very laughable

Do you have proof Gizzie fans are stealling posts? I know most of the people who post here and all those posts are theirs. Just show me proof, because I don't believe it for a moment. Most Gizzie fans I have seen posting here are adults who post regularly on Gizzie fan sites and have always very articulated, intelligent discussions.

It is the Alex and Izzie fans who steal posts from us, who always repeat them same thing. Oh, Gizzard sucks, they are so gross, they are like siblings, Alex is hot, George is not, EWWW EWW EWW, so mature NOT!

Most of the Gizzie fans I know, especially those who post at Fanforum are some of the most intelligent, articulate people I know

Not only that, but Lexzie fans have been stealing OUR posts. Assiello three times took my post PRAISING Gizzie and changed them and put Lexzie instead of Gizzie, he made it seem like I loved Lexzie and not Gizzie and this is a critic

I have a friend who is a Gizzie fan and posts lovely analyses of them, their feelings and why she loved them. I was shocked to see her posts in their entirety posted but changed to either MerDer or Lexzie when they were about Gizzie, to make it seem like he person were Lexzie or MerDer fans

It happened many times and those posts came from private Gizzie sites requiring paswords and everything so some people passing as Gizzie fans spied on us, copied our messages and would distort them on other sites

Some Lexziefans also physically threatened Gizzie fans, saying they would KILL them if they saw them and calling them all base names

A Gizzie hater has admitted to spamming the ABC poll with two friends for hours on end

So the Gizzie HATERS are cheats, liars, dangerous people who threaten physically the Gizzie fans, copy their posts and spy on them
Not to mention they are shallow idiots

Alex/Izzie fans or Mer/Der fans. Apparently Gizzie fans are editing your posts and putting them up on Grey Matter to make it look like you actually LIKE the pairing. Nancy, I suggest you go take a look at the editing of your posts. It's okay you are a Alex/Izzie fan. What is not okay is a fan of GIZZIE coming on here, copy and pasting your posts up EDITED to make it seem like you endorse a couple you don't. Not only does this show me that fans of GIZZIE are under the age of 12 and cannot form a statement of their own to stand behind, but they will literally plagiarize someone else's post, put that person's name up and edit a post to make a point. What a creepy, horrible representation of a fan base you are on here. I sincerely hope Shonda know that people who support that pairing are a bunch of STEALING ten year olds who can't think for themselves enough to form an original thought of your own. I just saw a new promo, and what was in it: MerDer, Gizzie happy dancing, yay and Alex and Lexie kissing. The only Alex and Izzie was them being weirded out by the couple having sex, nothing romantic there, but Gizzie is happy dancing. This is the second promo where they show happy Gizzie together in romantic scenes. I love it. And Alex is again with Lexie, not Izzie, kissing. Lexzie in a friend scene watching a weird couple make love is nothing like Alex and Lexie KISSING or George and Izzie dancing, looking so in love and in other promos, in bed or almost kissing. Lexzie are shown in platonic scenes, any other person could have been with Izzie watching the weird couple, but Gizzie and Alexie are shown in romantic scenes. Not only that, but they had more screentie in the promo, go Gizzie and Alexie, boo Lexziepuke

Well I just caught the promo tonight after Grey's and whoever said that Alex and Izzie aren't in it together are wrong. There's a clip with just the two of them in it as well. Not that I'm a huge fan of them as a couple or anything, but wanted to put that in because the promo just aired here. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but the two of them are on it together as well is all. Personally I'd like to see Mark with Izzie. They are cute together.

Alex and Izzie aren't shown in the promo's because they aren't together this season..Like Justin said the Ava/Alex thing has to end and he thinks the Lexie character will be going in "another direction" come S5 (can someone say Lexie's new "room mate George?") Like TR Knight recently said "George will be alone for some time" Next season is when Izzie and Alex will be worked back together. ABC never shows last seasons clips for the season they are running now, but now they are phasing out showing George and Izzie as a couple because they are on their way out.
btw..I have seen Alex and Izzie on the cover of a magazine before.. Have we ever seen George and Izzie?...nope(LOL) and the reason Shonda doesn't get behind them is because they aren't doing anything for the show. It's over. Put it to rest. It's Izzie and Alex's time come S5 and if you don't watch well fine..there's roughly 18 million a week who will.

First of all, there are plenty of MerDer and Gizzie fans who have posted and the only whiners I have seen are the Gizzie haters.

I just saw the ad, no Lexzie, so don't get the whole Lexzie is coming back, LOL. They maybe are, but this ad sure is not a sign of that as hmm they are not together in the ad.

I just thought of a funny thing. Izzie saved Bambi that episode, LOL, Bambi is George's nickname and the whole deer thing was a Gizzie methaphor.

LOL, I don't think they showed it for that, but it still makes me laugh because that story was about Gizzie too and Izzie not being able to give up on wanting to be with George, LOL.

But this fan is thrilled that MerDer is back together, I always liked them. I also love Gizzie too and don't find anything wrong in wanting them together.

I won't make a scene if they do, but I would be very happy if this happens, and sorry but I hate Alex and Izzie.

I just plain hate Alex though so thta might be it. I only liked him with Addie.
