Dustin Milligan (The Messengers) is the first actor to join the cast of the CW’s planned spinoff of Beverly Hills 90210 from executive producer Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars). According to the show’s producers, Milligan, who also appeared in the short-lived CW show Runaway, will play a “likable, genuine…star athlete” named Ethan who befriends the 90210 group of teens.

Published reports have said the spinoff will revolve around the Mills family of Beverly Hills whose matriarch, Tabitha, is a 60-something has-been actress and alcoholic. Tabitha’s adult son, Harry, moves back to Beverly Hills to care for his mother. Joining him are his wife Celia, an Olympic athlete-turned-personal trainer, and their two 16-year-old children who may make up the new 90210 crew.

this is going to be the greatest show in the history of television

Tabitha Mills? Maybe they can get Juliet Mills to star since she already plays a Tabitha on Passions the most tacky show ever to grace television. She’s the right age and everything.

Please have Claire come back as one of those kids mother. She was one of my favorite characters.

  • dala

bring back hilary swank’s character!! hahaha

  • anr

he also guest starred on The N show “About a Girl”.

  • Ric Flair

The only way I will watch this show is if they bring back a couple of the old characters. (Not Aundria)

    Please, don’t make me laugh.

This whole “90210 spinoff” thing is the stupidest thing ever!! How can something be a spinoff if the cast is entirely new and has nothing to do with the original show??? Just because they are both set in Beverly Hills doesn’t make it a spinoff!! That’s like saying Grey’s Anatomy is a spinoff of Frasier because they are both set in Seattle!!
So unless 90210 brings back a real original character, it’s not a spinoff. And it can’t be a very loose connection like Dylan’s half-sister who appeared in 3 episodes – it has to be a real original character or it’s NOT a spinoff. It just bugs me that EW and the media keep calling it a spinoff that’s all. But it’ll suck anyway. It’ll just be “The OC” meets “Gossip Girl”.

How about a married Dylan and Kelly dealing with Brenda and Dylan’s rebellious British lovechild!

  • 90210 Never Dies

This is an embarassment to the original. If they don’t bring back one of the true 90210′ers, no one will watch. I mean, c’mon…seriously…None of the original characters are doing anything! Where’s Steve Sanders when you need him? CW crap at it’s finest.

  • Kara

This is just going to be the next copy of teh OC. But you never know until you watch it…
Personally, I’m loving the upper east side and Gossip Girl (coming back Monday April 21st at 8PM on CW)!

Some fan you were. Claire died of AIDS in the series finale.

  • SDA333

Oh, for God’s sake. Just get back to “Veronica Mars” and forget this 90210 nonsense!

  • Bruno

I read that one of the kids who hosts the morning student news show is Andrea’s daughter with that guy she married. I’m not going to hate this show just yet. Especially since I read that some kids toilet paper the Spelling mansion in the pilot. Rob wrote a role for Kelly Taylor, but he really should have brought back Brenda.

  • hkjsdf

nothing can top the original but this will be greaTTT

  • IUESFSDD

as long as brandon and david are there<333

  • robin

    F*** Brenda!!! first of all!!
and you cant make 90210 in 2008???
It will NOT be a hit!!
The old 90210 will ALWAYS be the best!!
    !!

  • bring it on

Okay whoever said that clair died of aids on the finale needs to b watching the soap channel 4 reruns bcuz she did not die she moved away. Plus the finale was david and donnas wedding DUH!!! I say bring it on since the O.C. Was taken off the air we could use another one of these shows

  • yo momma!!!

idk about this new 90210 show the first one was the BEST and nothing will compare…and besides the old characters were soo much better!!!

  • maria

Being an adoring fan of 90210 I fail to see how this is a spin-off? Although it is in the early rumor fested stage, so we shall see what comes of it. I would love to see the ORIGINAL cast come back. Pay them all anything they ask, because i would wager it would be the most watched premier in history. The show was fantastic, that trailed into idiocy the last 3 years. But bring it back strong and fierce, make them remember why it was so amazing!

  • Fallon

I’m super excited about this…i grew up watching this show, i just hope it’s as good as the first

I’m a die hard fan of Old 90210, how can you bring a new 90210 back! Why cant you think of another name? I dont think I will ever watch it! I want my Dylan, Brandon, Steve, Brian, Donna, and Kelly back! I grew up with them!

  • Anonymous

I don’t think it will be a hit unless the old characters come back

  • Lena

Actually, I think it could work in the same way the Degrassi – next generation worked. If there are at least a couple of original cast for the first season or two, and if there are children of some of the old cast that we knew about (Andreas “hannah”) or assumed would eventually happen(child of any popular couple – Brandon/Kelly; Dylan/Kelly; Dylan/Brenda; Donna/David)that remained constant throughout the series, then old viewers will tune in to see how they all turned out and new (read YOUNGER viewers) will gravitate to the new teens. ie) Degrassi next gen only survives because of Emma (we knew from Spike way back when) and the constant presence of Snake/Archie and periodic supporting roles of Caitlyn and Joey.

  • Kelly

I actually was only born in 1992, but I have seen seasons 1-5 of Beverly hilla 90210 and it is definitely better than many of the shows on television now. If the new producers bring back some of the older characters, and of course the Peach Pit then it will be great and most likely blow Gossip Girl away!

  • alicia

I have been a die heart 90210 fan since I first saw the show. I think that the spin-off will do great. I know I’m waiting for it.

  • kayla

I saw a picture on the CW website of the cast. Is that Darcy for Degrassi?

  • Andrew

Yeah, when i saw darcy i was like “ok, whats this?”

  • whatever

I love the idea I want all of the original characters back you know the ones with brenda in it Claire is not an original character the show was much better when it first came and Kelly and Brandon should be together in this one. and I love Andrea she was cool.

  • sarah

personally i think that it will not make it that long on the air;face it it will never compare to the orginal 90210.
